Ceil opened his eyes to darkness, the night seeming inky and cold compared to the day his eyes had previously left behind .
Lily lay peacefully beside him, her hair shining with the touch of moonlight, face relaxed in ease. She breathed softly her chest rising and falling in slow increments. She gave off a gentle warmth, there, laying curled into his chest with her hands still resting on the firm plain of his stomach and pectoral, her touch felt soft on his skin. He gave off a breath gently taking in the feeling before moving carefully away, taking her hands and laying them beside her.

He gently slipped from the sheets his bare feet stepping gently on carpeted floor. The tendrils of the fabric almost cling to him as he stepped away from the bed, begging him to stay with her. But as much as he wished to stay curled with her under the sheets, he needed answers; answers he could only get from one person.
He tucked the sheets back in place, brushing a stray hair behind her ear, before making his way to the door

He moved slowly through the windowed hall, navigating the halls by memory and the little light that the moon gave off. A short  walk in such a large house really, but Ciel took his time, letting the cool air of the hall chill his skin, fully rousing him from his drowsiness.

He reached a singular door, he gave a singular knock. He was awake, Ciel knew, light shown dimly from under the door. It opened slowly without a creek but with a brush of cold air.

The silent occupants stepped back from the door. The silent visitor entered. The door was closed just as quietly.

They both sat in silent mutual agreement; this wouldn't be a standing conversation.

Sebastian sat on his bed. Uncharacteristically slouched, his elbows resting on his knees and hands clasp lightly in front of him.  His shirt was unbuttoned at the neck and his sleeves were rolled casually to elbows. A rare sight for a butler who was always so well kept.
His room was simple, austere for a demon, but clean and surprisingly warm. Grey sheets, white currents, wooden dresser, wooden desk.

"You have something to ask me." Not a question but a statement broke the silence.

"I need to know how lily came to be... why she is....the way she is." Ciel said leaning back in the well worn desk chair, it gave a creek from the shift.

Sebastian's face sunk to hands letting his palms lay over his eyes.
"Is that an order, Master?"
It was no more than a whisper from his dark lips.

"No... it's a request," Ciel lay a hand on Sebastian shoulder, giving a tired sigh. Sebastian looked at Ciel for a moment as if he couldn't think of what to say next. A request. A request meant the Sebastian could say no. Ciel knew it, but what he asked wasn't something you force from someone. Ciel could be cold, ruthless, heartless even, but not now. Not if it involved her.

Sebastian sighed again but sat up straighter seeming to get comfortable on his unwrinkled sheets.

"I suppose that means I have to tell you about her,"

"Her?" Ciel question shifting closer readying himself for what seemed like a long story.

He smile so small anyone might had missed it when he said her  name.

"Elaine ..."
