Suspicion [4] - Dave's point of view

When we came back, Ryan and Danny were waiting in the main room, the two seemed to be staring into space or the floor... I dunno, could be either. I knocked on the doorway's wood to get their attention, Ryan looked over "Oh hey, You're back" he got up and walked towards us. Everyone noticed that their were footprints from heavy dirty boots near Darla's desk (who wasn't happy she had to clean it) "Where did these come from?".

then he explained

apparently someone decided to try and break into the academy, that it had set off the alarm and scared them. The two hid behind the cafeteria counter before they got in, they had messed with some of the things around the desk area. It ended when Danny flew towards them and distracted them by screeching, giving Ryan a chance to run out and call the police. Danny wasn't hurt and they kept him in by pressing themselves against the door.

He was starting to mention how he and Danny talked and how he'd told him something important, He was about to talk when Danny screeched at him, Ryan I think knew what Danny meant and stopped, only saying "It's just something about my family...". We looked blankly at him "so.... what happened to your family?" "OH UM! O-Our uh dog died! yeah!" Ryan stuttered out, like he was nervous of something. "Well that sucks..." "Yeah... hope you feel better soon!" some people told him, he just nodded and said "Thanks! I will!". Something wasn't right... he seemed not really upset over the passing of his dog, why did Danny screech?

I huffed, I didn't wanna pry him open for details, because I knew I probably wouldn't get any answers. I went up to Danny, crouching down and holding out his finger, Danny climbed up and puffed up his feathers. He chirped at me, seemingly smiling. We went up, I told Ryan that it was getting sorta late and that we should get to our dorms, He agreed and we both walked into the dorms. We said our farewells and left into our rooms, when I walked in, Danny glided to my mattress, I slid down my door and sat there with my knees pulled into my chest.

He looked at me and fluttered over to me, rubbing his head against my leg, I chuckled a bit and rubbed his head with one of my fingers. I sighed, scooting myself to my bed, I opened the trapdoor near my bed and pulled out my guitar. Danny hopped up onto the head of my guitar, nesting down and watching as I preparing myself.
