Chapter 64

The two were so engrossed in drawing that they completely forgot the time.

In the meantime, Lionel had set out to visit Sassy. When he pulled up to the farm, he already saw Sam standing outside, tinkering on his tractor. He parked his expensive car a little to the side so it wouldn't get in anyone's way.

When he got out, he walked over to Sam. After all, he didn't want to completely mess with her family. Even though he no longer had any himself, he respected that it was important to Saskia.

"Good morning," Lionel therefore called out to her cousin.

"Good morning Lord Shahbandar, are you coming to pick up Sia?" asked Sam.

"Yes, I would love to," the lord replied.

"As far as I know, she is in the kitchen with my daughter. But before you go in now, there's one thing I want to make clear between us," Sam spoke, staring down at Lionel from above, as he was slightly taller than him, "if you ever hurt Saskia again or cause her any problems, you'll see the pitchfork up close this time. Or in the worst case, the potatoes from below!"

"You're threatening me," Lionel stated matter-of-factly, "I get it. I'll try as hard as I can. Still, if Saskia ever decides she doesn't want to be with me anymore, she can always move back to Wolferton."

The conversation between the two was considered over and Lio went inside the house. As he stepped into the kitchen, he paused for a moment. He looked at Sassy, who together with the little girl, was coloring animal figures with crayons.

Sandy looked up and saw a man, a stranger to her, standing at the kitchen door. "Who are you?" she therefore asked in surprise, which also made Sia look up.

"Th-This is my boyfriend," Saskia said quickly to clear up the surprising situation.

"But he already has white hair!" said Sandy in surprise from her honest child's mouth.

As Sia watched Lionel, she began to giggle. The latter now stood there perplexed, seemingly not knowing how to react.

"Sandy, maybe you'll ask the lord if he wants to color some animals, too," she said to her.

"Your friend is a lord?" exclaimed Sandy in amazement, "that's so cool!"

Lionel suddenly felt so old and he just realized once again how big the age difference was between Sassy and him. He decided to sit down with the two of them and do some coloring.

"Maybe you have a coloring book with a lion or lioness in it," Saskia was still saying to Sandy, who was already rummaging around in her huge selection of books.

"Yeah wait a minute, I have one with zoo animals," the girl replied, already pulling out the book. She held it out to Lionel, who took it.

"My name is Lionel and thank you for letting me draw in your coloring book," he said to Sandy, smiling at her.

Saskia was secretly amazed that he took so much effort and time. After all, he wasn't exactly the most patient person she knew. He was probably trying to go out of his way for her. She watched him a bit as he opened the book and picked out a lion. As he began to color with the pencils, however, she focused again on her own picture.

Again and again, Saskia and Lionel cast amorous glances at each other. "I'd like to talk to you about a few important things," Lio told her.

"Give us another quarter of an hour, then we can go," Sia spoke to him and finished painting the picture.

A little later, the two said goodbye and drove away so they could have some time together. Shahbandar drove to the sea to take a short walk. When they got out, he took her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers.

They walked onto the jetty and walked along it. Arriving at the front, they sat down side by side on the old bench, weathered by wind and weather.

"Saskia," Lionel began, continuing to hold her hand, "will you move in with me?" He asked without mincing words; after all, there was no time to lose. He had to be back in London, present at his company on Monday.

Saskia looked at him in wonder. She looked at him closely. His hair was disheveled by the sea wind and his look was honest and serious. "Do you really mean that?" she inquired for good measure, although she could already see the seriousness of the question in his gaze.

"Yes Saskia, of course I mean what I say. I stand by my words. I love you and I want you to move in with me. Besides, it's more practical if you work with me again. You can have your own room, of course. Everything the way you want it," the lord clarified while looking Sia in the eyes.

Saskia nodded. A warm feeling spread through her. So he was serious. From the looks of it, he would give anything to have a real relationship with her. She would give it a try. At the moment, she had nothing left to lose anyway. She didn't have a home of her own at the moment, and she didn't have a job anymore. "Yes Lionel, I want to move in with you," she answered after a few minutes of consideration.

Shahbandar exhaled in relief. He was glad she accepted his proposal. "Then let's not wait too long. After all, I have to be back in the office on Monday. You can't leave the fools alone for too long," he told her, which elicited a smile from Sia.

"So business as usual, hearing what you said," she replied, leaning her head against his shoulder, "give me a few hours, I don't have many things to pack."

The two talked some more about all sorts of things and spent a nice afternoon together by the sea.

Thus, it was a done deal. Saskia would move into Lionel's estate and that already tomorrow. She had also accepted the offer and Saskia would move into the lady's room. Since there was a direct door between the two rooms, it was therefore no obstacle to meet at any time.
