Chapter 6

Thanks to all who already know the story in German and support me here once again!🥰

Saskia waited impatiently until the train finally arrived. As soon as it stopped at the platform, she pressed the button so that the door opened. She heaved the sports bag up into the air and threw it in. She climbed the stairs herself with the backpack in her hand.

Fortunately, this train had compartments for up to six people, which was a rarity by now. Saskia walked along the narrow corridor, careful not to get stuck with her bags too often. She looked into the compartments to catch with good luck one where no one was sitting, Saskia had the luck and immediately opened the sliding door.

The sports bag went straight into the overhead compartment and the backpack came next to her on the empty seat. She sat down at the window seat facing the direction of travel, otherwise she might feel sick and she didn't want to risk that. Saskia made herself comfortable, after all, she would now be on the way for a good two hours. Slowly the train began to move out of the station, she watched the passing city until the settlement became thinner and thinner and now the rural area fully took hold.

For a long time she looked at the passing lush green meadows, until she decided to rummage in her backpack for the Shahbandar company magazine. But she was interrupted by the conductor who didn't seem to see his work as very stressful if he only appeared now. When he was satisfied with her valid ticket and finally left, she had her peace and the compartment to herself again.

Again she rummaged in her backpack and now pulled out the magazine. Instantly it smelled of fresh printing and the glossy pages felt very high quality under Saskia's fingers.

Careful not to get any corners in, she flipped through the thick magazine. One article in particular interested her and she began to read it. A huge picture of her boss gazed back at her. Saskia shook her head and had to smile slightly. So one thing you had to hand it to him. He certainly had a healthy self-confidence, so naturally and slightly arrogantly he looked into the camera.

Longer than necessary she looked at his profile, her gaze slid over his gray hair that almost stood out in all directions. His eyes looked at you so intensely, as if he could look deep into your soul. The article itself was only about the fact that he was planning to write another book about himself. More details were not published. This time it should not only be about his person, but also in particular about his art collection and his estate.

Saskia was already curious about the publication, she would read it in any case, so she would at least get to know how much of the ongoing rumors were true. But the book had to be written in the first place, so it would take even longer until it would come out.

Saskia was actually not very materialistic, after all, one came into this world with nothing and left with nothing. But a little money in between was not so bad, but as much as Lord Shahbandar had, no single person could consume after all. He did not even have an heir, as far as she knew he was divorced. But she had never really thought about that. Why should she, she had never had anything to do with him personally and what use would it be to know such things.

During the time Saskia was enjoying her quiet train ride, things were not so relaxed in London.

Lionel had apparently gotten up on the wrong side of the bed today, he was already pissed off and that before he even left his estate and he didn't even know why. Dissatisfied, he sat in his limousine and let himself be driven to London.

The traffic was unusually heavy today and Mihai was already getting nervous, he knew that the lord was about to have an outburst of rage, he could tell by the tip of his nose. When he finally came to stand in front of the office complex, it already happened.

"Have a nice day sir," Mihai wished his boss.

"Shut up!" scolded Lionel and stormed out of the Rolls-Royce.

Mihai said nothing more in response. He wouldn't have known what to say to that either, he just drove the car away and thus just did his job. Mihai shook his head, he had been working for Shahbandar for half an eternity. How could his boss live like that, no wonder he was always throwing tantrums. He was truly missing his second half, and hopefully he would find it soon, because he was becoming more and more obnoxious with age.

Lionel stormed to the elevators and grumbled to himself. When he finally arrived on the executive floor, he walked briskly through the corridor as usual, but not without glancing rather unconsciously into Saskia's office. He had never done that before, but there was no one sitting there. As he turned the corner, he saw his annoying assistant sitting at the desk in front of his office.

He leaned against the desk, annoyed, and stared at Evi with narrowed eyebrows until she looked up, startled. "I hope my report is already on my desk, otherwise heads will roll today!" he hissed to her more than he spoke.

Evi's mouth dropped open, but nothing came out. Lionel was already annoyed by her presence alone, and when she gave him such an inane look as well, he just saw red.

"I'm going to my office now. If there is no report for me there, I hope you have disappeared by that time!" he spoke clearly to Evi. This slob had definitely no longer earned the slightest respect on his part. Because he knew one thing for sure, there was certainly no summary waiting on his desk.

Lionel waited no longer for a reaction and stormed into his office. His eyes immediately scanned his desk. The usual reports he expected to see every day were, of course, not on the desk. Snorting wildly, as if he were about to explode, he turned on his heel. But fortunately, his assistant had already disappeared.
