Chapter 27

Lionel wanted to go to his office and get some papers. Saskia meanwhile went to her desk and also picked up a folder and something to write with.

When he came out of his office again, he went with her into the spacious meeting room.

Saskia looked around, no one was present yet, she and Lionel could talk briefly and then it would be time to go. Lionel gave her a small stack of notes to hand out to her colleagues later.

Harry looked nervously at the clock, he could hardly wait to finally go into the meeting. He was eager to get his revenge done. He was sure it would become a laughing stock.

Time had passed faster than Saskia would have liked, at any moment the staff would come into the room. But she tried to suppress her nervousness as best she could. She took one deep breath and smelled Lionel's perfume again, which immediately calmed her down a bit. In general, his presence made her feel a bit calmer, there was something about him that made her feel safe. But maybe it was just because he was older.

Already the door opened and the first people came in and took their usual seats. After some time Saskia glanced up and looked around. Her gaze lingered on Harry Deane. He was whispering with a colleague, which made her feel uneasy. But she couldn't think about it anymore because Lionel was already opening the meeting.

Some points were discussed, which were more or less interesting. The time had come and Saskia was to hand out the sheets. As confidently as she could, she paced the seats in turn and completed her task. Again her attention fell on Harry, who was looking at her so strangely.

When she had finished giving out everything, she wanted to go back to her seat. But suddenly the woman next to Harry stood up. She was holding a huge pitcher of tap water in her hands. Saskia wanted to avoid her a bit, because she wanted to make room for the woman, which she managed to do briefly. But Harry tripped the colleague, which was hidden from all eyes. The latter could no longer keep on her feet and poured the entire pitcher of water onto Saskia's white blouse.

Saskia caught her breath from the ice-cold water and the shock. Everyone, but really everyone, gawked at her. First and foremost, Lionel stared at her with his mouth open. Others, in turn, began to giggle. Only now did she realize what had happened and, quickly thinking, she crossed her arms in front of her chest because her white blouse had become transparent.

She was so shocked that she hadn't noticed that her coworker had fallen to the floor and that the jug had broken into thousands of shards. But she didn't care about all that. She still couldn't believe how she was standing there now. Saskia just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible and looked at her boss.

Lionel looked up just as Saskia had finished her round. What was happening before his eyes happened for him as if in slow motion. When the entire liquid of the jug had been poured on her, her white blouse turned into a transparent something and her bra with lace pattern could be seen in detail. Lionel stared at her breasts and probably would have done it even longer if someone hadn't started giggling. He finally caught on to the situation as she looked at him frantically with her arms crossed.

Immediately he stood up, unbuttoned his jacket and quickly took it off. Swiftly, he circled the table and approached her, placing the jacket over her shoulders. "This meeting is over! Everyone go back to your workplaces immediately in a direct manner," he barked angrily and began to escort Saskia out of the meeting room.

Lionel pushed her into a small room used only for storage.

Saskia only got to see everything as if in a trance. Only when Lionel's warm and nice-smelling jacket settled around her shoulders did she feel a little more secure. She felt his hand on her back, which also calmed her down. A thousand thoughts flashed through her mind. Everyone had seen her exposed now, especially her boss. Although his presence strangely reassured her, she was still ashamed in front of him.

As Saskia leaned against the table in the small extra room, she thought Lionel had left again. When she finally realized what had just happened, she began to sob.

She had made a fool of herself and it wasn't even her fault.

Lionel had stopped a little behind her and was straightening his vest. He didn't know what to do or how to react without offending her. After all, she certainly wasn't feeling very well right now.

But when she started sobbing, he really felt sorry for her. She was such a hard-working employee and he hadn't been very kind to her either. Quietly, he stepped up to her and stroked her shoulder.

Saskia got a brief fright, not knowing that she was not alone. But now it didn't matter and she leaned against him.

Lionel stepped even closer to her and finally took her in his arms. Saskia clung to his warm body, which immediately drove away the chill of wetness. The fact that she was making Lionel equally wet didn't seem to bother him. She inhaled his wonderful scent, she would have expected anything, but not that he would embrace her. It felt so outrageously good and she would have preferred to never let go of him again.

Lionel was overcome by an unknown feeling when he held Saskia's soft body in his arms again. He immediately remembered the situation in the car when she had fallen on him. Unconsciously, he held her even tighter, wishing he could have buried his nose in her hair. He felt sorry for her, he couldn't do more than comfort her a little anyway.

Extremely pleased with the result, Deane sat back in his office. It had all gone like clockwork and no one had noticed that the mishap was no accident. It had only taken him one dinner to persuade his colleague to join in. Unfortunately, the hoped-for reaction on the part of Shahbandar failed to materialize; he had even helped her. He had not taken that into account. Despite everything, he was on the whole satisfied with his action.

Lionel was still standing in the small room with Saskia in his arms. In the meantime, she had calmed down and stepped a little away from him. Both looked into each other's eyes longer until he began to speak: "Come on, let's go home. Let's leave it for today." Forgotten was his anger towards her, he just wanted her to feel better.

Saskia nodded in acknowledgement and pulled his jacket tighter around her so she wouldn't expose herself to the others again. Slowly, she followed him through the corridors outside towards the limousine.

Mihai looked in surprise at the entrance to the building when he saw the two of them coming so early. Also, something seemed to have changed between the two. He immediately put down the newspaper and started the engine.
