In the morning time, the sun shone brightly while rays entered our sports room making me wake up and come back to my senses. Sargam woke up with a thud when I pushed him from my lap after constantly shaking him to wake him up. He still slept on the ground.

"I want to sleep more" he whined. But I still shook him up and he woke up at the end still grumbling. He still isn't a morning person. Suddenly, we heard the loud, obnoxious voice of the guard while the door opened making us look towards the source. There was a look of sadness in his eyes which I couldn't understand very well. He got up as soon as I got up and followed me.

There were my mother and his parents. His mother called," Rutvika, I haven't seen you from a long time! How are you and how is your college life?" "I am good aunty. How are you doing?"was my reply to his mother who had always been friendly and supportive for me. "Well, I am great. Thanks to your best friend and my son." She spoke with a smile. My face was quite sad while Sargam's face was emotionless when she mentioned us to be best friends. I went to my mother as she engulfed me in a huge bear hug. She checked if I had any bruises on my hands or legs. She cared for me even today as if I was a small kid.

I was in the car on my way home. I remembered my first meeting with Sargam's Mom.

Flashback//
Sargam was very sick and in between classes he felt very tired. The teacher told me to take him to the rest room. I sat besides him and saw how stressed he looked.  Suddenly, he was called in the office but he was asleep so I went to the office. There was a call from his mother. I spoke to her and she told me how she and Sargam's dad had an emergency and needed to go to their village. I told her about Sargam's sickness. And I suggested that I can take him to my house. She was indeed grateful and thanked me a thousand times. //

My trail of thoughts were broken as the car stopped and I reached home. I changed my clothes and was greeted by my step dad on the breakfast table. He was overwhelmed as soon as he saw me and came forward securing me in his arms. He loved me as much as his own child and I called him my father wholeheartedly without any regret. I started eating my breakfast in a fast pace as I was hungry and later attended college. I met loads of curious glances from my classmates and my questioning session was on throughout the day but I answered none except Vikram and Pari. Also, the news came about Radhika entering the college who is my other best friend and my day just got better. The college day ended without seeing Sargam and making things awkward. I was relieved to say the least.

I was just too tired to think about my day so I went back to sleep and my body swam into the darkness.
