Chapter 31
Rutvika's P.O.V. :
I love my sleep truly. And being curled up on my bed deeply sleeping, I was woken up with a jerk as I heard the loud noise of a vase crashing down to pieces with a thud. Still groggy from my sleep, my senses were working. In the parking lot, I could see an unknown car parked with mine which meant that there was an intruder and my parents weren't home yet. I called Sargam to come to my house but he didn't pick up. I tried for a second time but failed.
I went with my cricket hands ready to beat the intruder when I felt someone placing a handkerchief on my face and the fingers touching the sides of my face very familiar. With the slow smell and that last thought, I was once again drifted off.
Sargam's P.O.V. :
I woke up in the morning totally flabbergasted by my dream. I never want to see that dream again. The nightmare that haunted my every night. That even ruled out the brightness in my day. Only one person still succeeds to make my day bright than Vikram and its Rutvika. I never want my dream to return again.
I turned to check the time on my phone and was astonished seeing missed calls from Rutvika. I called her phone but it was switched off and she'd left no text about why she had called. It seems as though something is fishy. I decided to check on her and immediately got dressed.
"Mom, I'm leaving. I have to go to Rutvika's house" I said while moving towards the metal door which was soon blocked by my mother with a plate of breakfast in her hands. She loudly instructed me in a tone which I couldn't ignore,"Eat your breakfast first." I shook my head clearly annoyed at her demand but ate the food placed in front of me on the wooden table nonetheless in a hurry. I soon left my house and walked to the car with the keys in my left pocket and drove at full speed reaching her house in a few minutes.
I knocked on the door and was met with her sobbing sister Megan with tears flowing and a red, swollen eys because of crying so much. I wonder what happened with her. I moved into the house and found the whole family crying. All were there except just one person. Rutvika. To say I was tensed, was definitely an understatement. Dark, scary thoughts started clouding my mind and I shook them off. I asked her mother in a very mild tone. And with her reply, my fear came true.
"She is missing." My head was throbbing and I didn't know how to react. SHE WAS MISSING. SHE WAS IN DANGER AND SHE HAD CALLED ME. Realization did hit me like a brick and I was on my knees with tears heavily streaming down my face. If only I would've picked up her call.
The little boy named Veer came running to me and said,"Big sis says strong people don't cry." The boy was really adorable. I stood up with just one thought in my mind,'She needs to be safe. I need to find her as soon as possible.'
