Part 30

Third person POV

Railway Station

Sid knew the mafia gang was searching for him, however he didn't anticipate facing them here - out of station.

"How did they get here? Were they following Samy? Is that the reason she came to my room yesterday night? Huh! Too many questions - need to get rid of these guys fast."

Sid wasn't prepared as he didn't expect the events to turn this way. He knew they would be better prepared this time as he slashed their boss last time, surprising them.

He began to think while running towards the workshop yards. He picked the yards hoping to find some weapon, like an iron rod, as the goons were well equipped with knives and probably guns.

He was alone and they were three of them. "Difficult to fight all three at the same time as they have knives. I need to figure out a way to divide them and take them one by one - my only chance of survival. " he thought entering the yards and scanning the area.

There was no one in the yard as it was a holiday. It was a long workshop shed, big enough to service four trains at the same time.

There were four parallel tracks with platforms between them. There were trains on all four tracks. It was dark inside even though there was light coming in from the opening on both sides. The lights were off because there was no one working, it being a holiday.

The plaforms had different kinds of equipment to service the trains. Also there were ladders going up and down to allow mechanics to go over and under the train.

Sid scanned the facility and quickly formed a plan in his head to tackle the assailants. The success of his plan depended on swift execution, fast movement and to some degree lack of smartness on the part of attacking goons.

As he expected there were different kinds of tools and equipment he could potentially use as weapons. He picked up a sturdy four feet rod on his way and quickly climbed the stairs to reach the roof of the train on the middle platform.

He jumped of the stairs onto the roof and bent his body all the way down to keep him invisible. He was almost crawling till he reached the opening of the workshop, giving him a good view of the entrance.

He could clearly see the three assailants approach the enterance with their knives drawn out, ready to punce.

Sid got additional time because he was faster than them and they were slow because they were cautiously following him to avoid any surprise.

Vali and his associates reached the enterance of the workshop and started lookind around.

Vali didn't like the situation as he was planning to take out Sid in the open, with three of them against him alone. Now the situation has changed, the place was dark and huge. Only way to catch Sid was to breakup and search for him.

He looked left and right and then signaled for one of them to go right and the other to go left. He walked down the center platform looking all around.

Sid watched them carefully from his hideout and  breathed deeply seeing them following his plan. As he sized them, he realized the leader seemed smart but the other two looked dumb to the core.

"Definitely lacking in situational awareness. Mafia bosses need to improve pay and benefits to attract talent." Sid thought to himself as he chose the guy going left as his first target.

Making no noise, he slowly crawled over the beam going to his right and followed the guy below. The goon was checking all the places around him, but never looked above his head.

Sid followed him for fifty feet.  When the guy bent down to check under the train, Sid dropped 2 feet behind him.

The guy turned back immediately hearing the sound and realized it was Sid.

He swung his knife in a dangerous arc trying to catch Sid by his throat, but Sid bent backwards, making sure his body was away from the leading edge of the knife.

When the guy realized he missed Sid, he tried to swing it back lunging forward, but at the same Sid's iron rod hit him between the ear and jaw.

He flew into the air spitting blood and teeth. His deadly  scream shook the entire workshop.

Sid quickly climbed up the staris and latched onto a cross beam moving as fast as possible towards his left, away from the injured guy, knowing very well others would rush in to help him.

Sid didn't want to engage in a long fight, like it happens in movies. He chose his weapon in such a way, that a single shot would cripple the guy and immobile him. He had no time, he had to catch a train.

Sid watched from above as Vali crossed him from below, towards the first guy. He let Vali pass and waited till he saw the second guy trying to crossover from the farther side.

He waited five seconds to make sure Vali was away and then dropped down onto the center platform waiting for the secong guy to come.

As soon as the guy climbed onto the centre platform from the railway tracks, Sid appeared from behind a pillar and swung his irod ron.

The guy lifted his head, surprised by the sound, but few milliseconds later the iron rod hit his head, making a big gash on his head. He collapsed screaming and holding his head.

Vali realized what was happening to them from the sound of the screams. He knew he was dealing with not only a very smart and intelligent person, but also one who was physically better than them and not afraid of any consequences.

He was holding the first guy in his lap, trying to stem his bleeding.

Sid silently made his way to the first guy and stood before them.

Vali looked up and saw Sid ready and waiting to swing the iron rod at him. He also knew what would happen to him after the iron rod hits its mark.

"Please Sir .. can we talk" He pleaded with Sid as he lifted the iron rod up.

"Talk .. You have five minutes to make your case." Sid replied, not letting his guard down and keeping the rod up, ready to strike.

After exactly five minutes of hearing Vali's appeal for sparing their lives, Sid ran back to the Train Station hoping to catch his train.

Vali pleaded with Sid for their lives and explained his family situation, hoping Sid would spare them. Sid agreed to spare their lives, if he agreed to his conditions. Vali accepted Sid's conditions. Sid asked Vali to immediately take his accomplices to a hospital.

Sid threw the iron rod into one of the goods train wagons, so that it won't come back to bite him. As he reached the platform, the train he was supposed to catch was leaving the platform.

He pumped his legs and ran faster to catch the train before the last compartment leaves the Station.

In the train

Samy was getting impatient as minutes went by and there was no sign of Sid. She saw the three goons chase Sid with their knives drawn.

She too wanted to run behind them and help Sid. She asked the team to get behind her and go after them. But Bunty stopped her saying it wasn't safe to go after them.

"Believe me it's not safe for you or us to go after them. Sid warned us not to come, because he is perfectly capable of taking care of them. He infact went in that direction to put distance between us and the bad guys. If we go, it would be a disadvantage for him. I have seen Sid before taking care of goons like this and it is better to let him deal with them without having to worry about us falling into their hands."

However Samy wasn't convinced and had her eyes glued in the direction Sid ran, waiting for him to return.

Meanwhile thirty minutes passed and the train arrived. She didn't want to get into the train, but her team pulled her in, comforting her not to worry about Sid.

Samy stood near the window and watched the yard area for any sign of Sid. She controlled her face expressions, stopping tears from rolling down her cheeks, not wanting to show her emotions for Sid to everyone.

The guard waved the green flag as the train blew a whistle and the train started rolling forward slowly.

Samy got up and put her hand on the emergency chain to pull it down. " Guys no matter what, I am not leaving this place without Sid. I am going to pull this chain now."

"Wait Samy .. give him some time. We may get into trouble for pulling the emergency brake." Uma warned her.

"I don't care if I have go to jail for this." Samy replied pulling the chain.

"Wait ..." Bunty cried from the enterance door. "I see him."
