Kuch aesa hou ye shaam dhale
Koi haath me thame haath mera
Koi le kar mujhko saath chale,

Koi bethe mere pehlu me
Mere haath pe apna haath rakhe,

Aur pounch ke aansu aankhon se
Woh dheere se ye baat kahe,

Yun tanha safar abb kath ta nahi
Chalo hum bhe tumhare saath chalen.

Jahan

I wrinkled my eyelids before stretching my arms. Feeling something soft brush over my skin. I stretched my limbs trying hard to evaporate the threads of tempting sleep. Finally peeling my eyes open, I blinked at the unfamiliar ceiling. My sleeping amber orbs roaming to the ends of the false ceiling of the pink room. I frowned as my eyes moved to the blush pink curtains over me. And I had them fisted in my palms as they fell all around the bed.

Groaning, I sat up leaving the curtains to dangle down the bed soundlessly. My eyes squinted in curiosity seeing the other end of the bed empty and almost cold. My head shaking as a small smile invaded my lips. So much for her request for me to not leave her alone in the morning, the irony.

I stood up on sleeping legs and stretched myself, cringing at my wrinkled pants and awfully destroyed shirt. Running a hand through my hair, I reached towards my suit jacket before pulling out my phone seeing it dead.

Shit! Just wow.

My eyes caught the door at the end of the room and I walked to it, opening the door it occured to be a bathroom. And I sighed before throwing off my shirt. Getting done with my business in the bathroom, I stepped out just to see the room still empty and untouched. I walked to the bedroom and pulled it just enough to peek outside.

Where was this woman?

I pouted seeing the corridor empty. Closing the door behind me, I decided to wait for Saboohi to come in herself because there was in no way I was going before her family all wrinkled up. I closed my eyes lying back on the soft smooth bedsheets and soon felt sleep lull me again but I sprang up hearing the footsteps from outside. Moving towards the door again, I peeked outside. Seeing Abbas walk away with a basket, humming to tone to himself.

" Abbas!"

I hissed getting his attention and the teenager turned around.

" Jahan Bhai. You need something?"

He asked with gleaming concern and I nodded.

" Would you please fetch Saboohi for you."

I didn't wait for his reply before closing the door. Sitting on the bed, I waited patiently now. Seconds passed and then turned into minutes. And I waited for I don't know why long until the door burst open.

The figure easily sliding in. Her expressions morphed into worry as her eyes searched me throughout the room. Finally when her butterscotch brown eyes settled on me, she gasped. Her palms covering her mouth.

" Oh God! What happened? Abbas said that you had a complication-"

I narrowed my eyes before stuffing my face with the pillow.

What even Abbas?

" I did not have any complication. My clothes they are all wrinkled and I cannot come outside like this."

I pointed towards the wrinkled shirt near the bathroom seeing the woman's eyes slowly rake down my face and to my bare chest. Her eyes widening and her cheeks flushing as she walked towards my shirt and picked it up.

" So what does my dear husband want me to do?"

" Would you please bring in an iron, I'll just press it."

I said dismissively. Saboohi smiled and walked closer. Her fingers brushing my unbrushed hair back.

" Why don't you wait in the washroom while I iron your clothes here, in the room."

I analyzed the situation before asking her.

" Would you?"

" Yeah sure, now wait in the bathroom while I bring in the stand and iron."

I shrugged before following as she had said. She walked out again while I shrugged off my pants in the bathroom before leaving them on the floor outside. The shower looked tempting enough and I turned on the tap before sliding under it. The cool water cascaded down my back and I felt all sleep and grogginess wash away with it. Squirting some shampoo from the bottle, I scrubbed my hair thoroughly.

My thoughts turning back to the newspaper Abbas had handed me, saying it was from Mirza Sahib. But I wondered why would Mirza sahib leave a newspaper behind for me.

Turning off the shower, I wrapped the clean towel around my waist before opening the door and calling out for Saboohi.

" Yeah, I am just done."

She said.

I waited behind the door for my clothes. Feeling cold now.

" Here you go."

I extended my hand out, waving it feeling the non existent clothes touch me.

" Saboohi. My clothes."

I hissed, extending my hand again. Hearing the woman laugh on the other end.

" Saboohi!"

I groaned, peeking my head out to see her laugh and stick out her tongue. Standing at a good distance from me. And her evil laugh indicating that she was nowhere near giving me my clothes.

" What are you doing?"

I snapped seeing her look at me. Her eyes dancing with mischief.

" Oh Jahan baby, wants his clothes."

She teased, wiggling my clothes in her hands.

" Saboohi, it's no time to make fun. Please give me my clothes."

" Nah."

She clicked her tongue and shook her head. Making my jaw clench.

" It's getting cold in here, I am only in a towel!"

Her eyes flew to me as she took slow steps forward. Her mouth gaping.

" Jahan, you're only in a towel."

She gasped. And I palmed my face. My damp hair falling over my eyes.

" Saboohi, I swear if I come out right now, you won't like the consequences."

I growled lowly seeing the woman giggle. Before she gave me a sharp glance.

" Oh Jahan, I am so scared."

She feigned innocence and I growled. Fine two can play at this game then. Throwing the door open, I looked at her sternly. Saboohi's eyes grew large and she stiffened taking in my towel clad figure. Heaving breaths in and out with my nostrils, I glared at her before marching over to her. The woman squealed before she dashed for the bed, effortlessly rolling off it from the other end as I followed behind her.

Our laughter filled the room as she dodged each time I reached for her. This time when she ran for the bedroom door, I caught her from the waist and pulled her up. Her feet leaving the floor as she squealed like a little girl.

" Put me down, put me down."

She chanted as I chuckled and lowered her on the floor. Her back to my front with my arm secured around her waist tightly. She soon started to wiggle in my hold.

" Move, move Jahan."

She said breathless. And this time I smirked and leaned closer to her ear.

" Oh Saboohi, are you scared?"

I asked teasingly liking the effect when she froze on my words. Her head tilted just a little, her warmth seeping my bare skin.

" No, wh-why would i-"

She stammered and I chuckled yet again. Leaning closer, I kissed the shell of her ear, slowly reaching my hand around to hold my clothes which were still in her hands.

" What did I say, when I'll come out you won't like the consequences."

I breathed out before tugging at the earlobe, effortlessly. Her breathing picked up. And I smirked.

" Now tell me, would you tease me again like you were doing before."

My teeth caught her dangling floral earring and I tugged at it. The woman gasping loudly.

" Jahan."

She breathed, her body shivering in my hold.

" Now tell me Saboohi, do you like the consequences."

I tugged at her earring harder before kissing her earlobe sloppily, letting my tongue sweep over the cartilaginous shell. She shivered yet again, her fingers loosening over my clothing and I effortlessly graped my clothing this time.

" Now as I was saying, I am only in a towel and it's getting cold now."

She gasped as I smoothened a kiss over the nape of her neck and removed my hold from her all together. Moving back, I smirked devilishly and ran my thumb down my lips before throwing her a wink, seeing her eyes trail over me till I was behind her bathroom door again. Chuckling on how flushed I had left her.

After breakfast we returned back home and I changed into another suit before rushing to the office. After work I had finally gotten some time out to glance at the newspaper that was for me. Curiosity got the best of me as I retrieved it from my messenger bag. Flipping the cover page, my eyes scanned the multiple sticky notes pasted inside. Indeed Mirza Sahib had written them for me and left inside.

I tucked the first note. Reading it.

- Saboohi might be childish sometimes and cranky. There will be days when she wouldn't do anything at all except for feeling low about herself, don't hesitate to confront her. She isn't a child, she should be taught how life goes on. Build her up Jahan. She'll listen to you more than she's ever listened to me.

I tucked out all notes before reading each of them with utmost attention. Feeling as if the words were being spoken to me by Mirza Sahib.

- I don't want to burden you by saying to take care of Saboohi but I would like to burden you by emphasizing on her taking care of you. Make sure she does that.

- the minute I saw you, I knew I wasn't handing my daughter to just anyone. I saw the spark in you young man. And I know if there's anyone who'd keep Saboohi happy then it'll be you.

- my daughter is hopeless Jahan. She doesn't know how grateful she should be for the life that is ahead of her. Half of it is my fault. I let the cruelties of my family overhshadow her. I let Rubi and her mother treat her drastically. I am a human, I've made mistakes. But Jahan, when she gets into trouble, when she's looked down again- don't make the mistakes I made. Stand up for her. I know you will.

- Don't give up on her. Once she's attached to you, you'll be inseparable to her. She'll believe everything you say, everything to hear, everything you see. She'll see from you eyes and feel from your heart. But her impatient self might destroy things for you. But still don't give up on her.

- after me. She'll be alone. But I know she has you. And I assure you, you have her. As I said to you, whatever emotions you show she reciprocates with all her heart. I am very much proud of you. Jahan. Perhaps I know I won't be leaving her without a saviour.
Regards, Mirza.

I sighed loudly and blinked my eyes to clear my blurry vision. My fingers neatly folding the notes into small squares. Reaching towards the newspaper, I read the date. Recalling it to be the same date I last went to meet him. Keeping the notes, safely in the journal I placed in my office drawer. Assuring the man quietly, that he didn't need to worry about anything now. I was going to make things right from now on.

Days went past smoothly and Saboohi's and mine relationship progressed slowly. I'd leave for office, she'd serve me dinner when I'd return and we would usually sleep. But not before Saboohi bugging the hell out of me. Weekend rolled in fast and I stayed in bed till afternoon until Saboohi came in stomping her feet.

" Jahan. What is this behavior? Are you of no use?"

" What now Saboohi?"

I asked from under the pillow. Hearing the woman pace around. The pillow from my face got snatched away and the blanket followed after. I peeled my eyes open to see Saboohi stand with her hands on her hips. Her perfectly thick eyebrows raised as she looked at me with bored expressions.

" What?"

I asked innocently seeing the daggers that were directed my way. She huffed irritatedly before going to the vanity table, mumbling under her breath. She picked something up and turned to me.

" Dadi Gul Jan was saying that these things are meant for husbands to do and not for Afaaf."

I knitted my eyebrows together in confusion. What did she ask Afaaf to do? What thing was Dadi Gul Jan talking about? Looking up at her with confused expressions, I wiggled my eyebrows.

" What work? And why are you dressed up?"

I asked seeing the dress she work. Well of course white but she looked beautiful but scratch that she looked gorgeous. The bodice was all net and had floral white embroidery. The skirt however was plated and flowy, reaching till her ankles. She had her brown streaked hair in a bun that looked way to messy and classy at the same time. Her features were dozed in natural makeup and a darker nude lipstick. By the time I looked up at her eyes again, she was twirling to give me a better look of her dress and makeup.

" Do you like it?"

She asked and I gave her a quick nod. And instead asked with curiosity as I slipped down the bed.

" Where are you going?"

The woman rolled her eyes as she kept her hands on her hips yet again and gave me an unimpressed look.

" Since you're very busy dozing in my bed, Afaaf is taking me to a friend of hers."

I squinted my eyes and scratched my head.

" You wanted me to take you to Mahzala's house so you spoke to Dadi Gul Jan."

I spoke putting piece to piece together, still very much confused. The woman groaned and stomped her shoe on the carpet before walking to me and showing her palm. A delicate silver necklace lay in it.

" Dadi Gul Jan wanted you to hook it instead of Afaaf. And Afaaf wanted to go to her friends house so I tagged along in boredom."

She cleared out before sitting before me. Extending her hand back, she handed me the necklace.

" If you'll know hook this."

She hissed and I shrugged before wrapping the chain around her neck. Holding the hook and the other end, I tried to tie it but failed three times. The impatient woman groaned and growled.

" What's taking this long?"

She asked sharply and I chuckled.

" What's with you today? Have you even seen how tiny these clips are its so fucking hard to get them through- ouch!!"

Bony elbow nudged my ribs and I groaned before working on again. The end of the chain was so tiny, it barely got in my hold before slipping away.

" Jahan, are you done?"

I huffed before trying for the last time patiently.

" Yeah it's done"

I announced before snaking my arms around her. Feeling her turn to eye me. Her butterscotch eyes glimmering with thousands of emotions. I traced my fingers through the slit she had on her upper back. Feeling her smooth skin dotted with beauty spots.

" I didn't see this before."

I breathed, referring to the slit.

" Probably you were too busy rubbing the sleep out of your eyes." She teased pinching my cheeks and I flashed her a smile. Before she turned back around, adjusting her necklace. I wound my hands on her stomach tighter. Her skin enticing me to pepper kisses all over it. And so I did. Kissing the nape of her neck and then the skin of her upper back. Still tracing the beauty spots on her flawless skin.

" Jahan."

She shivered and I smirked before inhaling the soft perfume fragance she wore. Her fingers reached to my arms in efforts to peel away from my touch.

" Let me go, Jahan."

She breathed and I nodded before kissing her shoulder.

" Why don't you stay here with me."

I suggested now resting my head on the back of hers almost feeling her smile. And my heart suddenly clenched. I didn't want to be alone on the weekend. I felt my heart sinking at the thought that Ronaq never left me on weekends. She'd always spend her weekends with me. And I didn't want to be alone.

" Please don't go."

I seduced her skin with more rough kisses. Her head tilting to give me more access. Kissing the soft skin behind her ear, I kissed her earlobe.

" Jahan, I have to go."

She shuddered in my embrace and turned her face to look at me. Her innocent butterscotch eyes looked at me and I kissed the top of her nose. Seeing her eyes flutter shut. I inhaled her scent before leaning just inches more closer feeling her lips a breath away from mine. Just as our lips were about to clash, the bedroom door burst open.

We jumped and turned to the door, freezing in our spots seeing the little figure stroll in casually. Saboohi giggled but I was still so shocked to comprehend. Mohid walked in, smiling with his tooth. His milk bottle dangling from the corners of his mouth and I palmed my face.

God, this little guy was so oblivious of what his Jaan chachu was doing seconds ago. Saboohi wasn't as much as fazed as she tucked little Mohid in her lap. Making my arms wrap around Mohid now.

" Let's go car."

His baby voice said and Saboohi giggled yet again. Kissing his round chubby cheeks.

" Of course baby. You're so warm."

She gushed as I groaned seeing that her attention was distracted away from me. Placing a soft kiss on her shoulder, I fell back on the mattress. Seeing Mohid slid down the bed before he rushed out again.

" Wow. Now two year olds will disturb my romance with my wife."
I complained picking up my phone to check. Saboohi laughed as she reached to the wardrobe. Opening it, she searched for her coat while I propped myself on my elbow. My eyes running over her white clothes.

" Will you tell me now why you have white clothes?"

She closed her wardrobe before shrugging on a thin coat, her eyes looking at me softly. And she walked back to me. Her hand settling in my jaw as she ran her eyes over my features.

" Hmm, I will."

" When?"

I asked seeing her smile grow as she bent down and placed a quick peck on my lips.

" Tomorrow night."

Before I could comprehend she was walking away and I sat up irritatingly.

" Really? Now I'll have to wait for tomorrow night then!"
