Author's pov

As you stepped into the Kim Emirates building, a mix of emotions swirled inside you. Excitement for your first day, nervousness about meeting new people, and a hint of desperation to prove yourself. You had been counting on this opportunity to support your parents, and you couldn't afford to mess it up.

The receptionist greeted you with a warm smile. "Good morning, welcome to Kim Emirates. How can I help you?"

"Good morning," you replied with the same smile. "I'm here for my first day. I'm supposed to meet Ms. Kim Jennie."

The receptionist's expression changed, and she asked, "What's your name?"

You were taken aback by the question but replied, "My name is Lee Y/N."

She picked up the phone and announced your arrival to someone. Then, she instructed a sweeper to escort you to Ms. Kim's office.

As you followed the sweeper, your mind raced with possibilities. What would your role be? Who would you be working with? The sweeper stopped in front of a door, and you entered, greeting Ms. Kim with a nervous smile.

"Good morning, Ms. Kim. I'm Y/N." You bowed politely.

She looked up from her desk, her expression unreadable. "Sit down, Y/N."

You sat down, trying to read her expression, but it revealed nothing.

"Here's your contract," she said, handing you a form. "But I'm afraid there's been a change."

You took the form, and your heart sank as you read the words "terminated" stamped across it. "Why?" you demanded, feeling a surge of anger.

"I haven't even started working yet. What did you do wrong?"

Jennie's expression remained neutral as she listened to you.

"I don't know. The president ordered it. You can meet him on the top floor, right corner office, to discuss it."

"But why?" you pressed, trying to understand. "What did I do?"

"I'm sorry, Y/N. I really don't know."

You felt a surge of frustration and anger. This opportunity was your last hope to help your parents. You couldn't let it slip away without a fight.

"Fine," you said, standing up. "I'll go meet the president."

Jennie nodded. "Be careful, Y/N. The president is not someone to be trifled with."

You stormed out of the office, determined to confront the president. You took the elevator to the top floor, your heart racing with anticipation.

As the doors opened, you saw a room not bothering to look what the board says and charged in, screaming, "This is unfair! I didn't do anything wrong!" But as you looked around, you realized you were in a board room, surrounded by staring faces. Shit!

The chair at the head of the table turned, and you locked eyes with the president. Your jaw dropped as you realized who it was. Kim Taehyung, the President of Kim Emirates, and the last person you expected to see.

As Taehyung's eyes met yours, you felt a jolt of shock and surprise. You hadn't expected the president of Kim Emirates to be him, of all people. The logo, KTH, suddenly made sense - Kim Taehyung. How could you have been so blind?

Your mind raced back to Jisoo, his sister, and the company form she had given you. It all clicked into place now. You cursed yourself for not making the connection earlier.

As you looked around the conference hall, you saw the board members staring at you with a mix of awkwardness and pity. They seemed to feel sorry for you, knowing that you now had to face Taehyung's wrath.

Taehyung's voice broke the silence, "I think that's enough for today. I'll have my secretary schedule another meeting later."

The board members quickly agreed and filed out of the room, leaving you alone with Taehyung. The silence was oppressive, and you felt a sense of dread wash over you.

Taehyung leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as he raised an eyebrow examine her state.

"So, Ms. Lee, you see, I don't tolerate incompetence or recklessness in my company. And your little outburst just now..?"

You felt a cold sweat break out on your forehead as you realized the gravity of your situation.

"Why did you terminate my form?" you asked, your voice low, filled with disbelief. "Was it because of what happened between us? Are you trying to take revenge on me, aren't you?"

Taehyung's eyes sparkled with amusement, his gaze piercing through yours. He stood up from the chair he was sitting in, his movements fluid and deliberate. He walked around the desk, his eyes never leaving yours, and stopped in front of you. He towered over you, his presence imposing, and leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper.

"Revenge? That's childish, Ms. Lee." He said, his voice low and husky.

"You think you're worth my revenge? I don't think so."

As he spoke, he reached out and placed a hand on the armrest of the chair beside you, his fingers drumming a slow rhythm on the upholstery. His face was inches from yours, his warm breath caressing your skin, making you feel trapped and vulnerable.

He leaned in closer, his face inches from yours. "I'm a businessman, not a petty high schooler. I don't do revenge. But I do get what I want, when I want it."

His words sent a shiver down your spine, his hot breath caressing your skin. You felt a rush of fear mixed with nervousness, unsure of what he was capable of.

"So, tell me, Ms. Lee," he whispered, his eyes glinting with mischief. "What do you think I want from you?"

You swallowed hard, trying to maintain your composure, and replied, "I don't know, Mr. Kim. But I hope it's not to make my life more miserable than it already is."

He hoarsely chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and said, "Oh, Ms. Lee. You have no idea what I'm capable of. But don't worry, I'll give you a hint. It's not about making your life miserable."

He paused, his gaze roving over your face, making you feel like an insect under a microscope.

"I'm not going to sugarcoat it," He spoke, moving his gaze on your face.

He added, "I don't want you to drop out from your college. Not everyone is lucky enough to get chance to study in a prestige college."

"Why are you doing this?" You asked as you looked up to his face, feeling a sense of curiosity.

"Why do you care about my education?"

His expression softened slightly. "Let's just say I believe in investing in people's futures," He answered.

"And right now, your future is in that classroom, not in this boardroom."

His eyes locked onto yours, his gaze piercing and intense. You felt a shiver run down your spine as he whispered, "You're just a month away from graduation, Ms. Lee. Don't let your father's bills weigh you down."

His voice was low, but it was his aura that was truly intimidating. You felt like he could see right through you, like he knew all your secrets.

Your eyes widened as his warm breath caressed you ear. "Focus on your studies now."

He paused, his eyes never leaving yours, as he let his words sink in.

"Your father's bills are paid," he continued, his voice dripping with satisfaction.

His hand reached out to brush a strand of hair behind your ear. His fingers lingered on your skin, tracing the edge of your earlobe before drifting down to the nape of your neck.

"Who are you?" You asked, trying to keep your voice steady. "And how do you know my father?"

His lips grazed your ear, sending tremors through your body.

"I've known Mr. Lee for years...and you, too," he murmured, his voice sensual and low.

Your mind raced, but your memories came up blank. You looked up at him, confusion etched on your face. "I don't remember you," You spoke, trying to step back, but his hand shot out, his fingers wrapping around your waist like a vice. His grip was firm, but not harsh, holding your in place with a gentle yet unyielding pressure.

"That's because you were just a kid," he replied, his eyes glinting with amusement.

"But I remember you. You were always so curious, so full of life."

His thumb brushed against the small of your back, sending shivers down your spine as he pulled you closer to him.

His hand was warm and possessive, his fingers splayed across your waist like a claim of ownership. You felt a surge of electricity run through your body as he held you in place, his touch sending waves of sensation through your skin.

Your heart raced as Taehyung's gaze locked onto yours. You felt like a trapped animal, unsure of what to do next.

"Don't be afraid, little one," He teased, as he noticed your nervousness.

"I'm not going to bite...hard." He said, with a sly grin, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and you felt a surge of intimidation. Who is this man, and why does he have so much control over my mind and body?

You tried to laugh, but it came out as a nervous squeak. "I'm not afraid of you," You lied.

He sneered, the sound low and throaty. "Oh, I think you are," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

"But don't worry, I'll take care of you. You're under my protection now."

Your eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean?" You asked, trying to keep your voice steady.

"You'll find out soon enough," he answered, his voice dripping with mystery.

Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a check. "Now, take it." He said, his fingers brushing against yours. He forwarded the cheque for you to take it but you confusingly looked at him and then to the check he was giving.

"Since I already paid your father's bills." He spoke. "So, here's some extra money for your basic needs. If you need more, just ask me."

You were taken aback by his words. You had never expected him to be so generous, especially after everything that had happened between you two.

"I can't accept this," You uttered, shaking your head, trying to hand the check back to him. But he wouldn't take it. Instead, he placed his hand over yours, closing your fingers around the check with a gentle yet firm pressure.

"Consider it an apology for my misbehavior earlier with you. I know what I did was wrong and I want to rectify my mistakes."

He said softly, his voice low and smoky. His eyes locked onto yours, filled with a sincerity that made your heart skip a beat. "I want to make things right between us. Please, take it."

You felt a surge of emotions wash over her as you looked at the check in your hand. The amount was staggering. As you looked up at him, you saw a glimmer of something that looked almost like regret. It was a fleeting moment, but it was enough to make you wonder what had driven him to make such a generous offer.

Before you could protest further, he turned his back and stepping out of the room, leaving you standing there, staring at the check in your hand. You felt a sense of bewilderment wash over you, unsure of what to do next.

Your mind was filled with questions. What did he want from you? Why was he being so kind? And what did he mean by "making things right" between us?

The questions swirled in your mind, leaving you feeling confused and uncertain, as you stood there, holding the check in your hand. You felt like you were drowning in a sea of emotions, unsure of how to keep your head above water.

As you stood there, frozen in uncertainty, the sound of Taehyung's footsteps echoed through the hall, growing fainter with each passing moment. You knew you had to make a decision, but you had no idea what the right choice was. You thought for a moment and did what your heart told.

As you stormed out of the office, you immediately followed him, your heels clicking on the marble floor. You called out his name, but he didn't respond, didn't even flinch. You ran behind him, your heart pounding in your chest, but your feet seemed to have a mind of their own. You tripped over a loose wire and felt yourself falling.

You flailed your arms wildly, trying to regain your balance, but it was too late. You clutched at the first thing you could grab, which happened to be Taehyung's arm.

You felt a jolt of electricity as your hands wrapped around his bicep, and then you both went tumbling to the ground. You landed on your back, while Taehyung on top of you, his chest pressed against your soft bosoms. You looked up at him, shocked, your heart racing like a wild animal. He stared back at you, an amused glint in his eye, his face inches from yours.

For a moment, you both just lay there, frozen in time. His face was just inches from yours that you could even feel his warm breath on your skin.

Then, Taehyung's lips curled up in a playful smirk. "Well, well, well," He said, his voice deep and raspy.

"Look at that. You're in my arms again."

Your face flushed with embarrassment as you struggled to sit up, but he didn't move. He just kept staring at you, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

Finally, you managed to speak, your voice barely above a whisper. "Mr Kim.."

"Hmmm..." He replied still lost in your eyes making you feel shy.

"You're heavy.."

He immediately stood up when he heard your words, holding out his hand to help you up. But you ignored it, dusting off your clothes instead. His eyes narrowed, but let that slide not wanting to make you feel bad.

"Be careful, or is it your way of falling into my arms?" He teased, his tone light and playful.

Your eyes widened in offense. "No, it's not!" You protested, your face flushing with anger.

He chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I'm starting to think it is," he playfully retorted with a sly grin.

He, then turned to leave, but you stopped him, calling out him softly. "Mr Kim.."

He turned back to her, his eyes questioning. "Hmm..?"

You hesitated, unsure of what to say. But he just raised an eyebrow, waiting for you to speak.

You held out the check, your hand trembling slightly as you offered it back to him. "I don't want this," You spoke, your voice firm.

"I'm thankful that you helped my parents, really, I am. But I don't want your money." You gazed at him while your eyes flashed with emotion .

"I'm not the type of girl who would accept money instead of a verbal apology."

His eyes sparkled with amusement as he took the check from your hand. His fingers touched yours briefly, and you felt a spark of electricity run through your body. You pulled her hand back quickly, trying to ignore the sensation.

"Oh, so you're one of those girls who wants to be wooed with words, huh?" He teased, sporting a cocky smile on his face.

You nodded, your face flushing with embarrassment. "Yes, I am. Offering money can't fix anything. It's just a way to buy people off."

Taehyung sneered, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Well, I guess I got that wrong," he replied.

"I thought all girls loved money."

Your eyes narrowed and anger rising. "That's not the point," You retorted.

"The point is that you're trying to buy me off instead of apologizing sincerely."

Taehyung shrugged, his smirk never wavering. "Maybe I am," he said, his voice nonchalant. "But you have to admit, it's a pretty good apology gift when you actually need it."

Your eyes flashed with anger as you looked at him, your ponytail swishing behind you like a whip. "No, it's not," You spat, your commanding.

"A real apology comes from the heart, not from the wallet. You think you can just buy me off with a check and expect me to forgive you?"

Taehyung shrugged, "I don't know how to say sorry," he responded, his voice rough.

"My actions are enough when I'm actually sorry."

Your anger boiled over at his cocky attitude. "Well, your actions aren't enough this time," You spat, your voice venomous. "You need to learn how to apologize sincerely, without trying to buy me off."

You grabbed the check from his hand and shoved it back at him again showing that you're angry, your fingers brushing against his.

"Keep your money," You spoke, your eyes blazing with anger. "I don't want it. What I want is a real apology, from the heart."

His smile faltered for a moment, while eyes flashing with surprise at yours outburst. He hadn't expected you to react so strongly, and for a moment, he was taken aback. But then, his composure returned, and he regained his trademark smirk.

"Fine," he replied.

"I'll learn how to apologize nicely. But don't expect me to grovel at your feet."

As he spoke, he raised an eyebrow, his gaze locked onto yours, challenging you to respond. His eyes seemed to gleam with amusement, as if he was enjoying the sparring match between them.

Your eyes narrowed, anger still simmering. You could see the cockiness in his eyes, and it only made you more determined to teach him a lesson.

Y/n's eyebrows drew together, while you fisted your palms.

"I don't want you to grovel," You said, your voice cold. "I just want you to be sincere. Can you do that?"

He raised an eyebrow, his expression cocky again. "I'll try my best, Princess." He dramatically bowed.

Your anger flared up again, your face burning with indignation. But you took a deep breath and controlled it, your voice firm and even. "See that you do," you said, your eyes flashing with annoyance. "Now, move aside."

A smirk placed on his lips and stepped to the side, his eyes never leaving yours. His gaze seemed to bore into your soul, his amusement at your anger evident. "As you say, Princess," he said, and showed his hand to move forward.

Your eyes narrowed, your annoyance at his comment evident. "Don't call me that," you retorted, your voice low and even.

He chuckled and leaned in, his voice barely audible. His breath caressed your ear, sending shivers down your spine. "See you soon," he sensually whispered making you feel shivers down your spine.

You acted cool as if his action didn't had an effect on you. You glared at him and then walked a few distance whereas he too turned and seeing you going away near the elevator.

You  stormed into the elevator, your heels clicking on the floor. You were determined to get away from him, to escape his mocking gaze. But as you turned to press the button, your feet tangled in each other and you tripped, stumbling against the wall.

The elevator doors closed, hiding you from view, but not before you heard his chuckle echo through the hallway,  followed by a whispered comment. "Clumsy Princess," he said, his voice barely audible.

Your face flushed with anger and embarrassment. You couldn't believe you had tripped again, and in front of him, of all people. You were determined to avoid him at all costs, but it seemed fate had other plans. You took a deep breath and tried to calm down, but your heart was still racing with anger and embarrassment.

A spark of indignation ignited within you as you stood in the elevator, the doors closing behind Taehyung's smirking face. You couldn't believe his audacity, his assumption that you would cower to his every whim simply because of his status.

"What does he think of himself?" you whispered to yourself, your voice trembling with annoyance. "A king? Does he really believe that people will do his bidding just because of his title?"

Your mind raced with the memories of your encounters with Taehyung, each one a reminder of his condescending attitude and expectation of obedience. But you were not one to be intimidated. You were not a slave to his ego or his wealth.

"I am not his subject," you declared to yourself, your voice growing stronger with conviction. "I am my own person, with my own thoughts and feelings. And I'll show him that I'm not afraid of him or his status."

A sense of determination washed over you, a resolve to stand up for yourself and follow your own path. You would not be swayed by Taehyung's charm or intimidated by his power.

"I'll do only what my heart says," you vowed, the words echoing in your mind like a promise.

"I'll follow my own heart, not his commands. I'll show him that I'm not afraid to be myself.."
