A few days later,

It has been a couple of days since Rayne scolded me for 'acting like a child'. Her words, not mine. Now I am standing out on the docks, waiting for this deal to happen. I have Collin, Nico, and Elena with me here at the docks.

Whose Elena? You may ask. Well, that is a good question. Elena was one of my former 'fuck buddies'. However, she is also one of my best assassins. Not only that, but her seduction skills are amazing. Trust me, I know firsthand how well she can seduce a guy into her bed with just a simple look in her eyes.

"You know, I am sure Rayne isn't going to be happy when she finds out you brought Elena instead of her. She told you the other day she wanted to learn some of the ropes." Nico says this through our earpiece.

"I have to agree with him, Lucas. You and Elena also used to sleep together! You have got to think about this. Rayne is going to have your balls strung up in the warehouse as decorations because of that." Collin says, laughing, before he takes a hit of his cigarette.

I shake my head as I go back to looking ahead. "So Lucas, after this, I think you and I need to go have some fun," Elena comments, smiling and placing a hand on my shoulder, leaning down so her breath fans my ear as she speaks. I shake it off and look at her.

"Elena, that ship has sailed. It will never happen again, so please keep your hands off me." I hiss as I walk off. I looked back and saw her talking to Collin. He just shakes his head and walks away, following after me. We all stop in our tracks when we see three SUVs pulling up quickly to the docks.

I stand by the crate with my hands folded in front of me, with Collin and Elena standing on each side. They have their hands at their sides, waiting, ready for attention.

"Ah, Lucas, so nice to see you again. How are your father and that beautiful mother of yours doing?" The guy asks as he walks up to me and shakes my hand. "They are good, Ace. How are you and the new bride?" I ask him.

"We are good, very good." He says it with a devilish smirk. I shake my head and smile. I walk to the crate and open it, and he sees all the assault rifles. "They are all here. Four crates, so that's about 2,000 assault rifles." I informed him as soon as he was shown the products. I picked one up and let him test the product. So we walk out back to give it a go. He looked like a kid in the candy store, with a grin on his face.

"So, are you pleased with them?" I ask him. He turns his head to me and answers, "Yes, grab the money; it is a deal." He shouts to one of his men. The guy brings three bags to me, and I pick them up and motion for Collin and Elena to grab the bags. They open the bag and look inside. They shake their heads and walk off with the bags.

"It is a pleasure doing business with you as always, Ace," I say, shaking his head. He walks back to his SUV and climbs in to leave.

I climb into my car and grab my phone to call my father. I dial his number and wait for his answer. "Hello, my son," my father says, answering the phone.

I told him that the deal went well and that we had the money. He says okay and that he will meet me at the compound, Aka The Wearhouse, where we always meet with the men and women in our 'family'. We quickly said our goodbyes, and I hung up. "Drive to the warehouse," I tell Elena, and sit back to relax. I look down at my phone, thinking of Rayne, so I decide to text her.

Me: Hello Amore.

Rayne: What do you want? I thought you were supposed to be working. Not texting me.

I read her text and could only laugh at it,

Me: Be ready at 7 p.m.; I am taking you out tonight. No arguing; I will see you then, Amore.

I messaged and put my phone in my pocket, "Collin, you're watching Dante tonight for Rayne and me. I want to take her out for a few hours." I informed him.

"Umm, sure. But do you really think she will be okay with me babysitting?" Collin says as Elena looks at me through the mirror, and I can see the jealousy in her eyes. I shrugged it off, trying to ignore her look.

"Yes, I just told her that I was taking her out. Now I have to set everything up. I was thinking of taking her out to the market and walking around to try different foods. Then end it with us up on the cliffs; we could have dinner in the bed of my truck under the stars." I tell Collin. He looks at me shocked and shakes his head. Then I hear Elena laugh. I try my best not to shoot her any glares; I know she was trying to adjust to this.

"Do you not know Rayne? No woman would want to have a picnic in the back of a truck bed." She retracts while laughing. "Elena, Rayne is not like most girls. She likes the simple things." Collin snapped back.

"I think she will like it. A fun and relaxing way to end the day after taking care of your son all day." Collin says.

We arrive back at the warehouse. I grab the bags and walk to my father's office. I don't bother knocking and just walk in. I instantly regret it after what I just witnessed.

"OH MY GOD!" I yell, slamming the door back shut. I just walked in on my father having my mother bent over his desk, and he was going to pound town on her. I thought I was going to be sick. It did not matter how old you got; the fact of knowing it happened did not make witnessing it any fucking easier. "FUCKING HANG A HAT ON THE DOORKNOB NEXT TIME SHIT"

"Whatever you do, do NOT go in there," I say to Collin, shaking my head and walking away.

I go to the gym and decide to wait for my father to be done having his way with my mother. I go and watch to see how the recruits are doing. I am walking around watching them, but one person has caught my attention. He reminds me of myself; he is ruthless with every swing and hit. He refuses to be taken down. I walk over to Caleb and say, "I want him pulled, and he is to move onto the next challenge. Let's see how he does with shooting." I say, pointing to the kid. He looks to be Aurora's age. Caleb shakes his head and walks over to him.

I finish walking around and watching them all, then pick a few others to be moved to the next challenge. As I'm walking, I watch my father walk over to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and look over at him. "From now on, we are meeting in my office. I can't be in your office any longer after what I just witnessed you doing in there. Holy water could not fix that shit." I say as I shudder, my stomach turning as I imagine having to have any contact with his desk.

My dad laughs at me and shakes his head. "I will not apologize for enjoying your mother." He laughs and walks away. "Your money is in my safe," I shout after him.

I look at my watch and see it's four p.m. I walk to Collin. "We need to go and get ready. Remember, you need to be at my house at 6 tonight," I say to him.

"Do not worry, I got this." He says this as I walk away.
