Ch25.01 On Board...Oh oh

"Somebody! Get some help" 

"Oh...I'm dying...M-my stomach..." 

The guards in the ship sailing to sea heard their prisoners below screaming for help. They came to check what the fuss was about downstairs. He noticed other prisoners were as confused as they were: 

"How dare you-?!" ...... just to see a french man choking HUSKY VOICE with his chains. 

FRENCH MAN: Do you have a death wish or something?! Do you, bastard?!

HUSKY VOICE: M-my stomach-..

FRENCH MAN: I said do you?! 

The guards unlocked their cell as their captain yelled at the prisoners once more not to move. The general took out their sword near the French man's neck, and the French man came to a halt. 

FRENCH MAN: All right, all right... fine..

While FRENCH MAN let his prison-mate go. HUSKY VOICE was able to breathe, and then he grabbed the guard by his wrist the moment he lowered his guard, took his sword and leaned it on the guard's neck. 

GENERAL: W...wh...what are you doing?

"Free us," FRENCH MAN demanded in a whisper, lifting his chained wrists.

After a while of confrontation, GENERAL commanded his guards to get their keys to free all the prisoners, in fear for his life. But, the guards hesitated so HUSKY VOICE slashed a gash on the general's right leg. 

Meanwhile, One of the sailors from above witnessed this threat of action, so he ran up the stairs to quickly wave red flag as a warning for their other ships to take action. He managed to get the attention of Lord Schuyler's henchmen  who were on the other ship. 

"See, what did I tell you? Strike the iron while it's hot," Samuel Seabury reminded Benedict. 

"See what happens if I hear one more word!"  Benedict Arnold threatened Samuel while his body went stiff. 

While these two men were bickering, Richard Howe waved their red flag back. It was time for the sailor to take action on his boat. 

The sailor took the call and went back inside where the general was being threatened. Alexander noticed he was entering a small storage room, but the feeling was unsettling. Everyone heard the man knocking something. But what for? 

Little did they know, just as FRENCH MAN has feared, the sailor was knocking the floor with his axe to sink this ship!

After just 3 hits, the water shot through the hole the sailor made. Because of the hole, the ship tilted to the one side, causing many guards above to fall from their ship and the prisoners (still in chains) to collapse and fall against the wall. 

For survival, HUSKY VOICE stabbed the general and the two guards remaining. 

While they could, he passed around the keys he took from their pockets for everyone to unlock their chains. Taking one of them, HUSKY VOICE freed himself, FRENCH MAN, BLONDE-HAIRED MAN, and Alexander who were chained together. 

However, with not much time left, the ocean water managed to reach the room where the prisoners were. Even though several prisoners found a sword and tried to cut the chains with all his might, some let the pressure get to them and murdered those nearby. 

To Alexander's shock, he noticed HUSKY VOICE was raising his sword behind FRENCH MAN. Fortunately, Alexander had a sword floating towards him and used it to stab HUSKY VOICE. 

After freeing FRENCH MAN and BLONDE-HAIRED MAN, someone grabbed Alexander by the foot. He looked endured and his eyes looked desperate. 

BLONDE-HAIRED MAN: Come on, Ginger! We must go before this sea suffocates us! 

During a time such as this to survive, Alexander chose to follow his heart one last time to free this man from the chains. 

Free at last, these four men along with others who followed in pursuit swam from the hole the sailor created, towards the surface of the sea. After finding floating objects to swim to shore with, the men used all their might to swim to dry land. 

But it was not over yet. 

Schuyler's ruffians and guards who remained in the other ships were so frustrated by the number of prisoners who "easily" escaped under their careful watch.  Out of anger, the ruffians did not spare any guard of the sunken ship alive when they tried to climb onto theirs for survival. 

"FINISH THEM OFF! " Benedict commanded  his guards who brought their arrows. 

They fired as many arrows as possible at the prisoners who had to escape for their lives at the surface. 

"Hurry up and shoot! Keep shooting!" Richard commanded while he was enjoying the sight of the number of prisoners decreasing. 

Finally, Benedict noticed the other men, especially Alexander, were using floating objects to escape. 

BENEDICT - "They're trying to escape!! Trail them!"

AUTHOR's NOTE: Thank you for your time and patience, and I hope you've enjoyed this chapter. Sorry that this chapter is short, and I'm aware it's been several months since I finished a chapter. These past few months, I've been working on college essays, and BOY it was a lot! I'm almost done finalizing them and I'm so happy to continue writing more chapters. 

To be honest, I've also been making a Character's List for Part 2 of this book and drafting another chapter as I go. Hope it comes all together. :)
