>SCARLET'S POV<
     Sev suddenly linked his arm around mine and we both vanished in a pop. The men disappeared & the feeling of being cramped into a tube occurred to me again, luckily this time, I didn't throw up again. We arrived in our hotel room with ourselves panting heavily. "How did you- Severus!" I exclaimed, at Sev's PURPLE right eyelid. "It's nothing... I just-"
"Oh goodness lord..." I whispered to myself slowly walking towards him. He must've hit his eye along the Apparition. The man backed away until he landed onto the bed. I didn't stop looking into his eyes and placed my hand to close his eye. It was very weird for a normal witch to do that. But I'm not normal remember? My flames somehow made my hand glow purple then faded away as I took my hand to reveal his face.

"Did you just... Heal me?"

     I did. I read this in a book about my kind. It's pretty hard to do, but I trained myself right after Snidget sometimes comes home with a broken wing. I didn't answer his question & kissed him in the cheek instead. I left him dumbstruck as I walked to the bathroom then changed into my nightwear. I crossed my legs, sitting on the bed, watching Severus touch his eye while he looked into a mirror. "I healed you, darling. It isn't an illusion."

     "T-Thank you..." he said then placed the mirror down. "But why is the location given to me at the exact of Empire State Building? They couldn't be inside, are they?" I asked confusingly, twirling & curling my hair. Sev seemed to be distracted while he stared at me for a moment, then opened his mouth to speak. "The Duo's tent is by the dark alley way. I asked Rudolf." I bit my lip nervously. Is it a good time?

"Sev...."

"Hmm?"

     "I... Well... I'm really sorry if I keep on repeating this... But Sev, once you're in my situation, there's no chance of stepping back. I love you, and you need to go once the real fight has started. I... I just want you to be safe. They're using people I care about to hurt me, and you're the most I care about. I don't want you to sacrifice your life for me... Please."

     "Scarlet, how many times do I have to tell you? We're sticking together through thick and thin, and that's the plan. I know if I sacrifice my own life it'll be worth it. Trust me."

     I looked down & nodded my head. I can't stop him. Sev is a man you can't outsmart. "You're act quite different from the classroom to me." I said randomly, that he chuckled by surprise. "I am, aren't I?" he replied as he slowly took of the ribbon tying his hair. "It's weird. Can't you be sweet and kind out of your chambers as well?" I joked. "No. Those dunderheads don't know the first thing about Potions, so they get what they deserve."

     "Well, if it isn't for the stupid instructions our textbooks say. You should publish your own book about Potions. By the Prince?"

"That isn't happening."

     "Alright" I surrendered, dropping to the bed. He stood up & laid down beside me, playing with my own hair as I levitated a small feather. I remembered Snidget's at Hogwarts. I guess he must be enjoying himself right now. "So, when are we visiting the Duo?"

As Severus' watch ticked 7 in the evening, we both wore our cloaks and headed for the Duo's tent. It was strangely odd. For what I knew, New York's sunset starts at around maybe 8, but maybe due to the happenings, the sun has come to hide as well. Muggles stared at us confusingly while my hood covered my face. We took a right turn, and at the end of the dark alley, was a lit tent.

I looked towards him with a look but he gestured for me to continue walking. My footsteps echoed along as I stepped upon the puddles. We finally arrived at the front of the tent, & so I sighed. A little peek and....

>THIRD PERSON<
"Who jackamalajits there?!" Insanus' familiar voice asked as his orange hair suddenly popped out. "Ah!" Scarlet screamed as the tent flap burst open. Standing in front of the entrance was Insanus, & Stultus, who was waving the other direction. It was like the two from the mirror. It was just Insanus had a large crazy lunaticly weird pretty amazingly nice top hat over his head. "They're over here, 'Stults." Insanus corrected, as Stultus was finally looking at them. "Severus? Scarlet! We've been waiting for you y'know! It's alright. Two minutes and 45 seconds late, but anywhodadly, we need to hurry!"

Insanus quickly pulled Scarlet inside while Stultus walked inside with Severus. Severus had an annoyed expression wore on his face that Scarlet nudged his elbow for him to stop. "So, why to be here?" Stultus asked, playing with a rat that climbed over his slime green hair. "Professor Flora Felixa told me you know something." Severus replied dully. "Oh please, we know everything!" Insanus exclaimed, while Stultus accidentally poured the cup of tea onto his pants. "Anything and everything?" he asked, grabbing a tissue & started wiping his pants. "Never mind him. We know Mars to Earth, Sun to Moon, and The ground to your butt!" they both cackled loudly as Scarlet suddenly made an odd face. 

"So... Whad'ya need to know?" Stultus asked. "That Phrophecy! Flora said you kept on singing it when she was here! I thought you can predict?!" Severus said hiding his anger. The duo reminded him of Trelawney... The Potter's phropecy....

"Phrophecy? What phrophecy?! We only know the Riddles!" Stultus asked, making the Duo cackle wildly again. "Shut up you idiot. You know the Carter Phropecy." muttered Sev dangerously. "Carter Phropecy -?" Scarlet was interrupted by Stultus who smacked his leg like he remembered. "Oh, that phrophecy!.. What was it again?" he asked dumbly. Couldn't contain his anger anymore, Severus smacked them both across the face. "Sev!" yelled Scarlet angrily.

"Oh... That phrophecy! Sorry folks, we don't know if we recite it or not because it just escapes our mouths and our mouth escapes!" Insanus told them with his tone that always had a little laugh with it. "Then how do you know that?" The Potions Master asked. "I don't know!" Stultus said, and again, they cackled like the craziest idiots... Well they already were. 'So this is why they're both called the Lunatic Duo' Scarlet thought to herself. "You... You... Ugh! Let's go, Scarlet." Severus muttered, pulling her wrist to the exit.

"Wait... Scarlet?!" The two said in unision and looking at each other with a weird look that the witch couldn't describe. "Yes, Scarlet Carter." she said with a small smile. "We know you! We know your parents! Oh they were ever so kind to... Oh I get it!" Insanus exclaimed smashing his hand to the counter similar to Stultus'.

"Get what?!"

"Your father! He left me... A... A... With a phrophecy to tell you when your old enough!" he told her massaging his temples. Severus' hands found their way to the Duo's necks, & started choking them to death. "You. At least. Could've. Told. Us. Earlier!!!" he shouted furiously. "Sev, calm down. What did my dad tell you?" she asked the two while she ripped the man apart from the Duo.

"We need to know if your exactly older than fifteen, and if you're the real Scarlet."

"My name is Scarlet Liana Carter, born on 21st of February, 1984."

"One question..."

"What?"

"What does your father say... When he gets irritated?" Stultus asked mysteriously, that his hair started to turn the shade of Slytherin green. "Um... Oh pumpernickles, I don't know..." Scarlet whispered to herself and scratching her head. "Thats it! Pumpernickles! Hah, she got it right, see Stultus! Now, here is the phrophecy or was it a riddle?: 

"On that night, where the first month starts. Where mother works, and father pulls the carts. The 14th day was quite a dread. For the child flee, while her parents were dead. At last, she lived alone, where fog surrounds. But is that how it stops her life, in those grounds?

She was a gifted witch, with powers of her own. But alas, she couldn't help but moan. Life was chaos, after the war. And if another cannot be stop, no one will ever soar above the ground. And this 'particular' other, who no one can ever kill. Must be done by she, who has good will. "

Insanus finished this and Stultus made an annoying oooh sound that Severus' grip on Scarlet's hand tightened. "Is that all?" Scarlet asked expecting maybe a few more. "Yes, that is what your father told us!" Insanus said cheerfully, shaking his hair making it bright orange again. "Was it? I dunno remember?" Stultus asked looking to the ceiling before Insanus smacked his hand towards the back of his forehead. "Shut up, Stultus! So, Severus here, would you mind, er shamalamadingdong there to the corner with my brother, would ya'?"

"You mean, you two alone? Oh, don't be ridiculous. Let's go, Scarlet."

"Oooh, someones jelly!" Insanus exclaimed twirling his finger while Stultus pretended to act like cupid. "I'm not jealous!" Severus shouted irritably, but it was very obvious that it was a lie. "Don't worry, Sev." Scarlet said with a encouraging smile, then followed Insanus deeper into the tent, leaving Severus alone with Stultus, who started asking funny questions.

Insanus drawed back a curtain with patterns, to Scarlet's surprise, was a room full of thingamajiggers or whatever Insanus mentioned. "How are you?"

Her attention immediately turned towards Insanus, who placed his amazing top hat gently upon the counter, where behind it was a shelf full of muggle stuff, toys, telescopes, and much more. Insanus' voice was rather... Different. It wasn't that crazy lunatic-like earlier... in fact, he sounded like he was a different wizard. "I'm f-fine..." Scarlet stuttered, staring at Insanus with intense disbelief. "Please, sit down."

Scarlet sat on the chair opposite of his as her eyes never left him, and just like Time, he held her hands protectively. "You're very much like Teresa... Yes. And John -" He froze to see Scarlet still bewildered. "Ah, you must've noticed me change."

Insanus stood up and walked to a spot where a light bulb was hanging above him. He pulled the string to turn it on, and exactly the moment the light shone on his head, his hair turned from bright electrifying orange to a warm chocolate brown. "People see us as idiots and lunatics," Insanus started walking around the room whilst cleaning, "and everybody still does."

Even though Scarlet couldn't see his face entirely, she knew very well he the tone of his voice went sadder. "You are the first witch or wizard except for me, 'Stults, Teresa, and John to enter this room. It is a room where we can finally be ourselves," It was strange how they couldn't hear the other two outside. "And often, wizards, witches and muggles alike tend to judge us by what they see or hear at first glance. At their first impressions of us, even from rumors. But if you follow our footsteps into the tent... We're completely different."

"So what you're saying -" Scarlet interrupted, but Insanus cut her off before she could finish. "- we're not really the dumb lunatics you hear from others. Now, back to the topic!" Insanus index finger shot to the air, as Scarlet was still surprised. 'They've been acting? Why would they do that?'

"Now, Scarlet, there is something you need to know -"

"Why would you act like crazy idiots out of the tent?! Do you realize nor understand how people talk about you?!"

"Scarlet -"

"If you knew my father, it was very obvious he would say the same! You're being used as an insult!"

"Listen to me!" Insanus, not intending to smash down a photo frame. "My real name is Talahad Time!" he roared that his words took Scarlet by storm. "Son of -?"

"- Testrus Time!"

"Impossible!"

"Impossible?! Then isn't it also impossible that maybe TWO Fortis Viribus will find each other at the same school? That maybe a good simple witch is being hunted down?! Do not judge of what you see or hear!" 

By now, it was also impossible that Severus or Stultus were hearing their loud roars.  

"I-I'm sorry..." was what Scarlet could only say. "I shouldn't have gotten furious at you."  "Forgive me... It's... Your father also shouted at me when I ran away."

"Ran away?"

"Scarlet, I'd like you to listen. My father is Testrus Time. Talahad Time, one of Testrus' sons expected to be at least a girl and was the most dreaded for the sake of the last name Time. My father never liked me for once. John and Donatello -Stultus' real name- truly knew the real me. Do you think living like luxury is something I fancy? Not a chance. So being a son of a strict parent after my mother passed away, I disobeyed father. Broke rules in the house, escaped fancy parties, hung around good wizards he hated, till Testrus kicked me out of the house himself. He hated me so much that he sent Dementors after me. Torture." 

"To tell you something about your father, John was also disliked by your grandparents before you arrived. So we three both lived under this... er, canvas flap." He stared around the mess that Scarlet never really thought of it like that. She more thought of it as a pile of beautiful and fascinating objects. "We three were called the 'Three Paths To Future'. I know, very horrible ("I don't think so!" exclaimed Scarlet). But after Hogwarts, Mr. Carter finally found his Mrs. and we & Donatello insisted he live with her for God's sake, no matter how hard he told us we should live with them since Teresa's family were quite the rich wizards not like the poor muggle-born John was."

"I believe you'd be asking why you are called a half-blood? Well, John wasn't really popular before Teresa married him so he was more known of a squib or a muggle. And he let it that way. He was a very mysterious wizard... He was ashamed of himself that he acted though he were invisible. But... right when the night Lord Voldemort hunted for the known Fortis Viribus family named Carter, then we received that our best friend John Carter died there on the floor... we became crazy."

"Not... Let's just say we turned insane. Crazy. Lunatics. We couldn't take it that John -the man who helped us so much- was gone, that it took us several nights, floods of tears and cries. So we would appear crazy... but then we stopped. When we learned that you were with Remus, our hearts leapt. But there was no step of turning back to normal. The famous 'THREE PATHS TO FUTURE' TURNS CRAZY and other stupid headlines were already printed among the papers that it would be really ridiculous to fade back to normal. So we continued. We've been pretending as stupid lunatics, that we adapted to it when we suddenly realized who we were becoming.I always thought of John's last prediction, that I sang it wherever I go. Hoping you'd show up."

"That's why I wanted to talk to you in private. I didn't really remember of seeing Severus' face in the crystal sphere, but we need to take things seriously. Oh, and please do send Sirius, Remus, plus Nymphadora my greetings. Anyways, I like you to take these things seriously. Scarlet, after you're parents died, I was in Knockturn Alley when I heard a few Death Eaters talking. There was an older betrayer of Voldemort. Malaine."

"Mistress Malaine is an infamous witch. She is known to betray Lord Voldemort which the Dark community kept all a hush. She was the one to persuade Voldemort to murder the Fortis Viribus population. She had told him that he would become powerful. Voldemort, being gullible, believed this, and ordered Malaine killing all. However, he was ever so foolish that you have to kill the wizard or witch yourself, and he was furious than ever. Malaine made the run for it. She recruited with her younger sister and hid. Continuing the kill, she never stopped to have the capability of being powerful. When they heard Scarlet Carter was still alive, the thirst started upon her tongue, ordering her men to hunt you down."

"Now, I have told you who you were up against. The question is how? How to kill one Fortis Viribus isn't just simply using the Killing Curse on him or her. Another Fortis Viribus would be strong enough to kill another."

"So that's why I can block the Killing Curse when we being chased?" Scarlet asked suddenly. Insanus -or Talahad rather, nodded his head. "Precisely.

"You need to find Malaine and stop her. You're the last of your kind."

There was a long pause when Talahad spoke once again. "How did you find us?" she was surprised. There wasn't a warning after all. "Pardon?" she whispered. "How did you find where we were? Me and Donatello?" 

"A mirror- Like that! Your father, Testrus Time, showed me! A mirror! Like a camera showing what you were doing." Her index finger pointing towards an exact mirror like the one Time had. Talahad's head snapped at the mirror quickly and stared at Scarlet with a look of disbelief. "My father sees us through this?!" he asked furiously, pointing to it. Scarlet thought if it was the right thing to do. She nodded her head, and...

Talahad smashed the mirror to the floor.

The flap flung to the side to reveal, not Severus, but Stultus with a shocked face. Severus entered the room, which where Scarlet looked back at Talahad whose hair was now, again, electrifying orange. "Insanus...." muttered Stultus or now known to Scarlet as Donatello in a calm-the-heck-down tone, with his eyes fixed upon the mirror and the man he treated like a brother. "What happened, Scarlet?" Severus asked her loudly. She was about to open her mouth, when a loud BANG erupted outside. "Donatello, they're here." Talahad said in a monotone voice, snapping back to reality. 

The men found them again. 

"RUN, SCARLET! TAKE AND GO! DON'T COME BACK! GO!" Donatello roared as his slime green hair turned Slytherin green again. "But -"

"GO!" 

Curses were fired everywhere, when Severus thought he heard a familiar cackle. "Bellatrix." he muttered to himself and pulling Scarlet out of the Duo's tent. Bellatrix's and other Death Eater's laughter burst through the holes of the tent, while the clatter and cling of pots made by Talahad and Donatello interrupted. "How about the Duo?"

"Carter!"

"RUN, SCARLET!" Severus' hoarse voice bellowed, as their footsteps only attracted more & more attention. They did not notice the men along the shadows, now chasing them once again. "Not so fast, Severus!" Avery shouted playfully, whipping his wand that the white robes merely missed an inch to his foot. But as the path back to main road was just a few meters away, they were blocked. It seemed like two against a hundred, that there was no chance of making it out alive. Severus wrapped his arm around his witch's waist protectively, not moving his eyes from his fellow Death Eaters he had once worked with. He leaned towards her ear and whispered:

 "Do you trust me?"
