When The Heart Cannot Remember

"May I ask who you are?"

There it was. That question every one of them tried to make her avoid.

The witch's eyes widened in shock and her feet had a mind of it's own as it backed away.

It felt strange... like she knew this was going to happen. She was sweating as if the temperature dropped all of a sudden while her mind was pounding in a head ache. It felt painful, actually. Was it just her or was she sick? Then she was starting to feel light-headed all of a sudden. It'll probably hurt later, but now... she just couldn't think of the right reply. Nada. None.

This was all going away right?

"I-I... Sorry, say that again for me?" she stuttered.

Severus sighed and rolled his eyes. "I do not wish to be rude, miss, but I request of introducing yourself before hugging a man in a smelly hospital bed. You know what, don't even hug the man at all."

...

"... Scarlet, we really did try and ask him but he doesn't-"

"What? Is she so important that I need to know who she is? Do you call yourself a celebrity?" Severus spat, partially to the rest of the staff and to Scarlet that everyone was ready to slap him across the face.

Scarlet's mouth was now open in shock. Did... he just been rude to her? 'Of course he did, idiot.' a voice in her head snapped back. If he knew who she was and what she was to him, she would've shoved him off that bed within a second. But for now, she was too distracted of the thought... that he couldn't remember who she was.

"He has amnesia doesn't he." she whispered to them yet Madam Pomfrey shook her head. "No, love, he has-... He doesn't have any amnesia, Scarlet. Actually, to start it all off, he isn't even sick." the medical witch quickly pulled her into another bed section then closed the curtains as McGonagall followed without being invited so.

"Severus didn't show many of the aftermaths of being unconscious and I've noticed that his head didn't suffer as much as a normal human would, especially for being quite immune to dangers like this," she turned to McGonagall and picked up a folder before flipping through it's papers, "How he forgot you is something I've been trying to figure out. If it were Obliviate, then I would've known, but it wasn't. It was foreign magic I've never come across in my life."

"Do you know what could've done this, Scarlet?" asked McGonagall. She looked with concern towards her, but Scarlet only shut her eyes tightly and shook her head. It's as if she were about to burst into tears. "I... I don't. A-And I'm scared what could've happened worse..."

"Shush, it's alright." the two women patted her back and calmed her down. "We'll talk to him-"

"Oh, um, yes... about that, Minerva." Pomfrey interrupted with a worried expression. "We can't."

... "What?!"

"I've tried. Multiple times, honestly. And Severus keeps on... well, having these head aches all of a sudden when I mention poor girl. I've checked, he wasn't faking any of it."

They were chatting as if Scarlet wasn't there to hear it, but she didn't care.

What was she going to do now? Is there a cure? Was she panicking too much that moment?!

Oh screw being overreactive. This was her boyfriend we're talking about.

So... what was she going to do? Run away? Tell the entire world? Murder? Okay, maybe those were a little too much.

She shouldn't cry right now. Making a fool out of herself would accomplish nothing, and Scarlet walked out of the curtains without uttering a word to the two witches behind her.

She wasn't angry. She just felt... upset. Guilty. Empty. Vulnerable. Powerless. As if... As if she couldn't have the love of her life back.

"Scarlet! Come here." Lyanna called to her as Scarlet nearly forgot the others were still there. "Yes?" she asked, tired with all the drama that circled around her. Her throat felt dry and she never knew she actually felt tired until now. If only this were a nightmare she can wake up from. If only.

"We want to introduce you to Professor Snape so we can get things over with." said Xander, leaning at the opposite wall of the room, far far away from Snape himself. Scarlet then turned to Severus, who was eyeing her all along. But now... his face softened. Earlier, he looked so stiff and irritated, but the sight of her now... he just couldn't look away.

Yet, Scarlet didn't know that.

She just shook her head. "I... I don't know."

"What do you mean 'you don't know'?" Madam Pince said, a little too outraged, and pushed Scarlet closer to the bed.

Scarlet's mouth froze agape, as she didn't know what to say. It was too awkward to introduce herself as if they haven't been together for more than 5 years.

"Uh, well, I-"

"All of you: don't force the poor girl to talk. Off to bed, all of you. We'll handle this." McGonagall suddenly exit the previous bed section with Pomfrey, and then began to escort them out of the room.

"What?! No! We can't just leave!" Lyanna cried out, hating to admit, but this right now would be a great story to tell at times.

"Miss Roberts, this is not the time to argue. Now go."

Everyone huffed angrily, but Xander was all in in leaving the room, and sped out full speed. In a few minutes, Pomfrey said to Scarlet they both will be back with food from the kitchens.

Now, the noise only could be heard in the room was silence. Tears were about to fall from her face, but she quickly wiped them away when Severus turned to look at her again. He seemed to have something to tell her, but couldn't spill it out.

The tension in the room was just too much for her to take. Scarlet now made her decision.

Leave.

She didn't care if Severus were still eyeing her. As if she were saying a silent "screw it" and carefully made her way to the door.

Well, that is, until she heard the man himself shout for her for the first time.

"Don't leave!"

Bianca stared at her computer screen with mouth open and ghost-like eyes. "I... This isn't enough." she whispered to herself as she backspaced again, but sighed then typed the same thing all over again. "Wha- I'm going to disappoint people with this chapter!"

It was all silent when all of a sudden, a blue pale figure appeared beside her. "What the fu-?!"

"Shush, it's me!" She turned beside her to see Obi-Wan Kenobi's force ghost looking over her shoulder. "Y-You're not real. You're... all in my head." she muttered. "Of course this is happening inside your head, Bianca, but why on earth does it mean that it is not real?" She watched him, frozen. "Don't you dare quote someone out of your own Fandom, Kenobi, not even Professor Dumbledore himself." Obi-Wan laughed. "I'll lead you to it. But anyways, stop on being so hard on yourself. You're great on your own, and you're not disappointing anyone. Except for the haters, but it's alright." he told her as he rubbed her back.

"You know, it's hard to talk to you when I'm secretly having a crush on Ewan Mcgregor"

"I know." and with those words, he pushed the orange publish button. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

"And, oh, an update soon, please."
