Ri's POV

I was watching a movie on my computer and was about to get to the good part when I heard a knock on my door and it opened and revealed Henry.

“Hey baby. What’s up?” I asked Henry and he sat on my bed right next to me.

“Hey Ri.” Henry says, and this confuses me.

“Yeah what’s up?” I say and I pause my movie and close my computer.

“I was wondering if you would like to go to Club Soda with me for Valentine’s Day. If that’s alright with you. I mean if you-” He says and I kissed him to shut him up and a couple of seconds later we broke the kiss.

“That would be nice. It would get me out of the basement for once in my life.” I say and he smiles at me.

“Yeah it would.” He says and he gets up and walks out of my room, and I couldn’t help but smile when he left.

I finally have an excuse to get out, lately I’ve been cooped up in the Man Cave, because I kind of think that since Henry is Kid Danger, that I should not be Girl Danger anymore. I’m kind of debating when I should tell Dad.

I mean he shouldn’t be upset with me, at least I hope not. I’ve just been keeping it to myself, and I’ve also talked to Sofia about it. Unfortunately she’s been on Bri’s side, so I should tell Dad. It’s like I want to tell him but I always chicken out about it.

I just don’t know how to say it, I’ve practiced it to myself, and that's pretty much how I fall asleep half the time.

As it gets closer to Valentine’s Day, I am gonna go dress shopping. Even though I don’t typically wear dresses, on Valentine’s Day, it will be an exception.

I figured that today’s the day that I will finally talk to Dad about it. I walk out of my room, and see where I can find Dad.

I eventually found him by the monitor scrolling trying to find any bad guys or something, and I turn around and see Bri nodding her head, saying to me that he’s in a good mood.

“Hey Dad.” I say and he turns around and she smiles at me, and his smile slowly drops when he see’s my face.

“Yeah what’s up Na Na?” He says and he gives Bri a look and she nods her head and she ‘walks away’. 

“There is something that I need to talk to you about.” I say and I start to fiddle with my fingers. It’s something that I do when I am nervous. If you probably can’t tell, I’m a nervous wreck.

“What’s up?” Dad repeated and she grabbed my hand and we walked to the couch.

“Would you be, uh, uh, mad that I say that I don’t want to be Girl Danger anymore. I mean if you and Henry really need me I am available, or anything.” I say and he slowly nods his head as he’s listening attentively.

“No. Of course I wouldn’t. Why would I be mad?” He questions and I shrug my shoulders.

“I guess that I want to wait to tell you or something. But I just chickened out, wondering how you’ll react to me telling you.” I say and he kisses my forehead, and he hugs me.

“It’s okay.” Dad says and he hugs me again, and I give him a small smile.

“So Henry told me about Valentine’s Day. Are you sure you wanna go? It’s a dance and you don’t dance.” Dad says and I shrug my shoulders.

“I mean yeah because it could get me out of here for once in my life.” I jokingly say and Dad laughs a little, at that.

“Yeah, good point.” He says and he goes back to the monitor and goes back doing what he was doing before.

The following day was the big day: Valentine’s Day. Also it was the day that I came down with a cold, and unfortunately I couldn’t go. Charlotte told me that Henry went with a girl with Tiffiany, and she also said that Tiffiany went crazy and attacked Mitch. So he had to be Kid Danger, and take her down.

The monitor went off and I ran towards it and answered the call and it was from Gooch.

“What’s up?” I ask and I see someone in the background, and I didn’t think about it, because there’s always someone in the background. On the count that it’s a store.

“There’s someone here to see you?” Gooch says and I quickly hung up and ran to the elevator and rapidly pressed the buttons, and it was being slow.

“Where the heck is this elevator?” I say losing my patience, at the silly elevator. Finally the elevator dinged and it opened and I pressed on the first floor, and then the door closed.

Then the elevator stopped and the doors opened and I walked out of the elevator, and turned the corner and the person looked so familiar. What the heck? It’s Sofia.

“Sofia?” I say and the girl turns around. She is indeed Sofia.

“Ri!” Sofia says and she runs and hugs me, and I hug her back.

“Why did you come back?” I asked her and her happy face drained cold, and sad.

“Papa died, and we lost our house and we had to come back here.” She says and we sit at the bench that was in the store, and Gooch was reading a book. Because he wanted to ‘look busy’, which is fine with me.

“When did he pass?” I asked her, and I walked towards the desk and grabbed the box of tissues, and gave them to her.

“A couple of weeks ago, after he died we moved in with my Aunt’s for a little bit until her landlord found out and he kicked us out, then we went to Grandma’s house and they said that we couldn’t move in with them  because their landlord would have found out. So we basically had no choice but to go to the homeless shelter, and basically stay there, until Mama decided to move here.” Sofia says and I gave her my water bottle and she opened it and she took a sip of the water.

“I’m so sorry Sof.” I said and I hugged her, and she leaned her head on my shoulder.

Then I heard the door dinged and it was Dad, Henry, Charlotte and Bri, and Dad was the first person to see Sof, and Henry and Charlotte looked at who Dad was looking at.

“Who’s she?” Henry asked, and Bri turned around, because she was talking to Charlotte, and she looked at Sofia.

“That can’t be? Sofia?” Bri says and Sofia perked up a little, and she turned around and hugged Bri, and then Dad.

“What are you doing back? I thought you lived in Mexico?” Dad asked and Sofia wiped her tears away with her tissue, and she went to the waste basket and tossed it in there, and then she came back around to us.

“Guys, this is Sofia. Sofia, this is Henry and Charlotte.” I introduced them and  Henry shook hands with Sofia and Charlotte hugged her.

“Any friends of Bria and Ari are friends with us.” Charlotte says and Sofia smiles a little.

“What are you doing here?” Dad repeated his question and she sat back  down on the bench, and she looked at me and she nodded her head at me.

“Her Dad died a couple of weeks ago, and after he died they moved into their Aunt’s place, until her landlord found out, because he didn’t know that they were living there. Then they went to their Grandma’s house and they said that they couldn’t live there because they didn’t want to get into trouble with their landlord. So their final option was to literally live at a homeless shelter, until Gabriella decided to move back here.” I say and Dad nodded his head remembering Gabriella, Julio, and Jade. 

Dad was friends with Julio, even when he became Captain Man, because Julio used to own a business here in Swellview, and he made the BEST sandwiches.

He also knew Gabriella because before Dad became indestructiblle, he had a crush on Gabriella, then her parents got a divorce (Gabriella’s parents), and they moved away, until she found Julio and they fell in love and yeah.

“Who’s the mom?” Charlotte asks.

“Gabriella. The Dad’s name was Julio, and her sister’s name is Jade, like the color.” Dad says and Bri hugs her friend. Well technically mine and Bri’s but Sofia was a little closer to Bri. 

“I know that this is a touchy subject but what did your Dad pass away from?” Charlotte asks Sofia.

“Car accident.” Bri mumbled and we turned to her and we had shocked looks on our faces.

“Wait, how do you know?” Dad asked and Bri pulled out her phone and clicked on Sofia and showed Dad the text messages, between her and Sofia.

“Oh okay.” Dad says after he was done reading the messages and he gave Bri back her phone, and she was playing a game of sorts, which I have no clue what it is, and I kind of don’t want to know either.

“We’re sorry about your Dad. We didn’t know?” Henry says for him and Charlotte, and she nods her head also at Henry.

“It’s okay.” Sofia says, and Charlotte gives her a sad smile.
