Ri’s POV

“Ray! Brinnie! Ari!” Gooch says.

Dad, Bri and I walked over to Gooch who was messing with a chair with a machine attached to it, and me and Bri raised our eyebrows at it.

What the heck is it?

What does it do?

Why are we up here?

“Yes Gooch?”

“What?” Me and Bri say to Gooch.

“Look at this antique chair I got.” He beas and me, Bri and Dad just stare at it.

“Okay.” The three of us say, as me and Bri are eating cheese quesadillas, that we had from last night for dinner.

“It’s one of the very first vibrating massage chairs ever made!” Gooch says and me and Bri look at each other and we roll our eyes.

“Isn’t there already a vibrating massage chair?” Bri asks and Gooch gives her a look.

“Okay this is my version of one.” He snaps back at Bri and she just rolls her eyes at him.

“Will one of you help me fix it up so I can relax my back?” Gooch asked us three and we were walking out when the door opened and Henry came walking in.

“Hey guys.” He greets us and he takes a bite out of my quesadilla, and I glare at  him, and he has a smirk on his face.

“Hey.” I said sarcastic to him and he took another bite out of my quesadilla and I didn’t even bother trying to do anything.

“Hey Hen.” Bri says and Henry smiles a little at her.

“Whoa. I didn’t think that you were working today.” Dad says.

“I’m not, but I gotta go downstairs and check the crime computer. Because there was a purse snatching.” Henry informe us and I scoffed and Henry gave me a look before continuing looking at Dad.

“Oh just file a police report.” I cutted in and Henry gave me a look.

“Who got her purse snatch?” Bri asks.

“My mom.” Henry replied and Dad’s eyes went wide. Here we go again. What is with Dad and Henry’s mom? She’s married to Henry’s Dad.

Why are you so interested in his mom?” Me and Bri ask.

“Have you seen his mom?” Dad answers and he turns back to Henry. “We’ve got to help her.”

“Dad, I’m sure his father is taking good care of her.” Bri assures Dad.

“Nah, he’s out of town.” Henry informed us and Bri rolled her eyes.

“Of course, there’s more to the story.” Bri complains.

And they talk about me complaining? 

Dad grabbed Henry’s shirt and pulled him close to him, and Bri finished her quesadilla. “He’s out of town?!”

“Yeah but I can’t handle things.” Henry says trying to reason with Dad but it’s not working.

“No you can’t!” Dad scoffed at Henry and took out his gum.

“Why can’t I?” Henry asked.

“You’re a boy!” Dad remarked and popped his gum in his mouth. 

“Maybe but I’ll almost be 14 years old, and I’ve been your sidekick long enough that I can- He’s just leaving me while I’m talking.” Henry rambles as Dad rushes out of the store. “Does he do that to you two?” 

“Everyday.” Bri says chuckling.

“This chair vibrates.” Gooch says and the three of us roll our eyes.

“Okay.” Henry says, shrugging his shoulders.

“Oh boy.” Bri says and walks away leaving me with Henry.

They said that sisters should always stay together, not leave each other.

Bri’s POV
The following day Dad told me and Ri that he was gonna stay with the Hart family until they capture the man who stole Henry’s mom’s purse. Of course, I was a little sad about it, because Saturday is usually the day that Dad, me and Ri watch Marvel movies all night long, but it’s no big deal.

I’m totally cool with Dad staying with Henry and his family. I know that Dad likes Henry’s mom, it’s weird seeing Dad being like the way that he is with his mom.

Anyway I was gonna go see a movie with Henry, Sofia and Jasper. Jasper wanted to see Dad, so we made a pit stop at Henry’s house.

Jasper rushed in and gasped at the sight of Captain Man. Dad looked up at us and he saw my look on my face and he gave me a sad smile.

“Don’t bother him.” I warn Jasper. Which of course he doesn’t listen, which isn’t a big surprise.

“Captain Man!” Jasper yelled and me and Sofia groaned at the hyper boy.

“I can’t believe that you’re really here!” Jasper says running over to him.

“Why’d you tell Jasper he’s at my house?” Henry asked us.

“We didn’t.” Sofia objected. “Piper’s been posting pics of him all over the web.”

“Hey, maybe after you’re done protecting Henry’s mom, you can come over to my house.” Jasper suggested and I groaned and Sofia rubbed my back.

Nope. After he’s done being Captain Man he’s gonna march his booty back home and he owe’s me a Saturday.

“Sure. Just text me your address.” Captain Man reluctantly tells him and Jasper gets out his phone.

“Okay. What’s your number?” Jasper asked.

“It’s five six four triangle slash blue.” Dad casually told him as he walked by us, and me and him briefly made eye contact but I looked down.

“Got it!” Jasper says and his smile fades. “Wait!”

Henry's mom comes down the stairs. “Hey, you guys, what are we all doing for lunch?” 

“I got plans.” Henry tells her, and she looks over at me and Sof.

“I thought maybe we could go out for lunch.” Dad suggested and that’s when I had it, I walked out and slammed the door. I heard someone coming from behind me and I didn’t even bother looking who it was. I just hoped that it wasn’t Dad.

“Bri! Bri! Wait! Up!” It was Sofia, and I ran faster not caring what other people’s faces were when they literally saw two teenagers running. But luckly I can run fast.

“Bri! Slow...Down!” Sofia yells and I just got to the Man Cave and ran to the elevator, not bothering to say hello to Gooch. I pressed the elevator door and I got into the elevator, and the door closed. Then I got to the Man Cave and ran towards my bedroom, leaving a trail of water because of my water powers.

Whenever I am sad or upset my powers either make a trail of water or a puddle of water, but this time it’s a trail.

I got to my room and slammed the door and also locked it and walked towards my bathroom and shut the door and started crying.

Apparently Dad didn’t even think about me and Ri, he just got up and left us, and I’m afraid that he will actually do that. Just up and leave me and my sister, even though I know that he wouldn’t EVER do that. But if he loved us enough he wouldn’t do that, and just leave us for Henry’s house.

I must’ve cried for hours because there was a knock on my door, and I didn’t have the courage to even get up, so I just sat on the floor, and just left whoever was at the door to give up and just leave.

“Hey Banana. Look I know that you are upset but I wanna talk.” I heard the voice say and I recognized it, it was Dad. 

What is he doing here? I thought that he was having fun  being ‘Captain Dad?’ Thought that he wanted to stay there?

“What do you want? Thought that you were having fun being ‘Captain Dad’!” I snapped at him and he looked down to the ground with sadness in his eyes.

“Bri-” He says but then I stopped him, I wasn’t done with my rant.

“Nope. So you left me and Ri, huh. Sounds fun when you didn’t even bother telling us that you were gonna play ‘Captain Dad’, with Henry. Were you even playing ‘Captain Dad’, or were you too busy drooling over Henry's mom? Answer that question, then I can think if I want to forgive you.” I said and he walked into my room, still in uniform, which isn’t a big surprise. Especially if your Dad is a freaking superhero, you get used to it, after a while.

“I just want to say that I am sorry for leaving you and Na Na, okay.” He said and I rolled my eyes at him. That wasn’t the answer that I was looking for, and or want.

“Not the answer that I was looking for.” I said to him and he looked at me.

“I was watching for the person that stole his mom’s purse, and maybe I got a little carried away, okay, and also I was drooling over his mother.” He said and he hugged me and I was hesitant to hug him but I did.

“So do you forgive me.” He said with a small smile on his face when he said that.

“Maybe. Just end this, because someone owes me a weeked.” I said and he nodded his head, and he went somewhere. Probably to end and find the robber.

The next day

Ari’s POV
--
Bri is still upset about Dad. like she wouldn’t come out of her room, even for Charlotte, and those two are thick and thin already. Even Sofia tried to get Bri out and she still won’t come out.

I mean she isn’t wrong about Dad basically playing, ‘Captain Dad’, over at Henry’s and also drooling over Henry’s mom. But before this all happened, he promised that he would spend the weekend with us, and Bri takes promises seriously. Dad knows how much promises mean to Bri and he basically broke that when he started staying over with Henry.

I am in the Man Cave with Sofia, and she basically gave up trying to help Bri, even though it hurts her seeing her best friend dealing with a lot of emotions. Sofia isn’t that good at reading emotions, because she has Autism, and they don’t really pick up on the ques of emotions.

“How much gasoline do we have to pour into this thing?” I asked Gooch as he poured gasoline into the engine on the chair.

“I think that’s enough.” Gooch tells Sofia. “Now let's test it. Sit in the chair.”  He told her and she got up from where she was sitting, and sat in the chair.

“How about you sit in the chair?” Sofia suggested as she carefully adjusted herself in the chair.

“It’s totally safe.” Gooch assures her.

“Since Ri doesn’t want to I guess.” She shrugged her shoulders.

“Ready?” He pulled on the wire and her body began to vibrate in an uncomfortable way. He pulled it again and she sat there vibrating in an unpleasant way.

The elevator doors opened and Henry walked out, he had on a yellow poncho with rain boots, and was carrying an umbrella.

“Hi everyone.” He greeted us.

“We’re busy!” Gooch complained as I approached Henry.

“What are you wearing?” I asked him.

“A poncho! And rubber boots!” Henry frowned and stomped his feet.

“Why? It was just barely raining.” I reasoned at him, and he gave me a death glare.

“I know that Ri! But Captain Dad still made me wear all this stuff so I won’t catch a cold!” He mocks and I just stare at him. “And he made me carry this.”

Right before he was gonna open the umbrella the sprocket opened and Bri came out with red puffy eyes and her Avengers blanket was wrapped around her, and all you could see was her face. Everything else was covered.

Henry opened the umbrella over his head and I tried to hide my laughter, and Bri walked until she got to me and then she looked at Henry, and she knew what happened. Dad broke her promise after he specifically said that he’d end this.

She saw me trying to not laugh at Henry, and gave me the ugliest look ever, and I put my hands up in surrender.

“Does he baby you two like this?” Henry asked us and I shrugged my shoulders.

“Not really!” Bri spats. “He’s been too focused on you and your family, that he hasn’t bothered to check up on us. But yesterday he soooo graciously came by my room probably because of what happened yesterday and said that he was sorry and then he broke my promises.” 

“I’m sorry.” Henry said and Bri took off her blanket, and she was in a….leather suit.

“Why you two are his daughters?” Henry told us, and Bri scoffed at him.

“Apparently not anymore.” She said as she walked to the elevator, and pressed the buttom, and then the doors opened up and she walked in and she had a devilious look on her face, and it scared me a little, and I think I might’ve tinkled a little in my shorts.

“Hey, I might have some good news for you.” I led him over to the monitor and I sat down on the chair. “I was thinking about your mom’s purse, and so Sof and I went online and looked at what we found for sale.”

I showed him the site where me and Sof found the purse and Henry gasped.

“Whoa, that’s my mom’s purse!”

“That’s what I thought! Here, I’ll zoom in!” I zoomed in on the screen and looked at the words under the photo.

“Used Kate Spod Purse. Recently stolen.” Henry read and Sofia walked up from behind us and she went next to Henry. “You think they wouldn’t put that in the ad.”

“Right?” Sofia added.

“So what’s our plan?” Henry asks us.

“Well….” I got cut off by Gooch trying to activate the chair again and we both sighed. I stood up and began walking. “We call the phone, on that ad, say we want to buy the purse and have the guy who’s selling it bring it to your house, and the Captain Dad will get him.” I say explaining the plan, and also emphizing the word ‘Man’, with ‘Dad’. Because I am still a little upset that Dad doesn’t want to spend the weekend with me and Bri.

“Yeah and then Captain Dad can move out of my house and back here with you.” Henry continues and I nod my head and him and he takes off the poncho and we run towards the elevator, and just as the elevator doors opened.

“It started! Quick!” Gooch quickly sat down and enjoyed the vibration at least until the engine backfired. “Dang it!”

Bri’s POV

I just got to the Hart House, and opened the door and everyone looked at me.

“So Captain Man, what are you doing here? I thought you shouldn't come to houses, and should go to your place.” I said and Dad gave me a sad look, and he looked down at the ground.

“Hey Bri!” Piper says as she sees me and she walks downstairs.

“Hey.” I said deadpanned, and like usual Piper went on her phone, laughing at the first thing that she probably saw.

“What are you doing here Bri?” Ms. Hart says and I put on a fake smile on my face. Dad knew why I showed up But he didn’t want to say anything.

“Because I wanted to talk to Captain Man about something and I just so happened to be coming here and kind of a good thing that he was here, because yeah.” I explained she nodded her head before walking to the kitchen doing whatever.

“Okay totally understandable, you two can just go on the front porch if you’d like.” She suggested and I grabbed Dad’s hand and basically dragged him to the porch and made sure that Ms.Hart and Piper weren’t paying attention.

“You promised me, and look what happened.” I said waving my hands in the air and Dad stepped back a little. “You disappointed me Dad, of all things that you’ve done. Why this.”

God, I’m starting to sound like a parent. 

Guess I’ve been spending too much time around Dad. 

I’m turning into him. 

No no no. 

I don’t want to be a superhero. 

I like my life.

“I just want-” Dad says but I interrupted him.

“No I’ve had enough of hearing you apoligize then turning around and not listening to your OWN DAUGHTER, and BREAKING her PROMISES, that YOU’D END THIS. Then look at what HAPPENED!” I said to him and he looked like he was sorry, and I just left him.

“I’m sorry, okay, I will end all of this.” He says and then I turned around looking like I had hope, on my face.

“Yeah, I’m not leaving you.” I said and he smiled a little and we walked back into the house and saw that Henry, Ri and Sofia are here, and also Stella.

“Did a guy named Axl show up here yet?” Sofia asked.

“Axel?” Piper asked.

“No one’s shown up here.” Dad stated and the three of them groaned.

“Good.” Henry says.

“Who’s Axel?” I asked.

“He’s the guy who-” Henry paused when he saw something and I noticed the portrait on the wall. “What the-Really? Over the fireplace? Really?”

I stared at the portrait of Henry, Piper, Ms. Hart and Dad and I looked at him.

“Who’s Axel?” Piper repeated the question.

“The guy who stole your mama’s purse.” Sofia answers and Mrs. Hart gasped.

“You found him?” She asked.

“Yeah. We found him trying to sell it online.” Ri informs everyone without looking at Dad.

“Ri and Sof found it!” Charlotte added, because Ri told them.

“Ri and Sofia found it!”

“All right!” Henry finally agreed.

“He’s on his way here with the purse.” I tell everyone.

“Because he thinks we’re going to buy it from him.” Henry continued.

“Ooh, well, what time is he supposed to-” THe doorbell rings and we all yell, and Stella runs and she hides.

“He’s here.” Charlotte said.

“Quick, what's the plan?” Mrs. Hart asked and Dad stood up.

“We all sneak out the back and go to the zoo!” Dad suggested before any one of us could say anything.

“NO!” I yelled and it went quiet.

“How does that help his mom get her purse back?” Ri asked Dad and the doorbell rings again.

“Just a sec!” I called and turned back to Dad. “Go hide.”

“All right.” Dad rushes behind the couch and Mrs. Hart see’s Stella and she goes up to her and the mother puts her hand in front of Stella and she sniffs her and then she licks her hand.

“Okay everyone just sit around and act like everything’s normal.” Henry instructed us and we all sat down casually.

“Wait! What if he recognizes me?” Mrs. Hart protested with Stella in her arms.

“She’s right!” Dad jumps in. “Quick you better come hide here right by me and this girl! Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!”

“Okay!” Mrs. Hart rushes behind the couch and Dad yanks my arm and I fall off the couch.

“Oof.” I say and I quickly get up, and Dad has a protective arm around me.

Ri’s POV
The doorbell rings again and Charlotte answers the door. A man was standing there with a yellow purse and Henry and I stood up.

“Hi!” Charlotte greeted. “Welcome to his house! Won’t you come in?”

“Yeah okay.” Axel says as he walks in.

As the guy walked in, Henry made sure to stay in front of me the whole time, and I thought that it was cute.

“So how much for the purse?”

“Oh well, the ad said-”

Henry quickly snatched the purse from the guy and laughed. “Ha! Now you don’t have it!”

“Dude-”

“Captain Man!” I call and Dad and Mrs. Hart stands up with Stella in Mrs. Hart’s arms.

“Aw no way.” The guy says with disbelief. “Captain Man lives here.” 

“Nope, he doesn’t.” Bri snarls and Dad removes his arm from Mrs. Hart.

“Whatever man! I guess I’m busted.” Axel says, shrugging his shoulders.

“Yeah, which means you get your purse back.” Henry tosses his mom her purse and she smiles with relief. “And Captain Man doesn’t have to stay here anymore.”

“Now, now, wait, wait a minute.” Dad objected. “We can’t be sure he’s the real criminal.”

“I am.” Axel admitted. “It was all me man.”

“Can I see that for a second!” Dad asked Mrs. Hart and she hands him her purse. Dad walks toward the door and motioned the criminal to join.

“Come with me.”

Dad pushes Axel out the door, and joined him outside for a few moments, before returning inside without the criminal or Mrs. Hart’s purse.

“You’re going to leave him out there with the purse?” Bri asked Dad with disbelief.

“Look, I realize it may seem like this case is solved, but just to be safe, maybe I should stay here for another month or two.” Dad suggests and Bri folded her arms.

“Seriously?” I muttered and looked away.

Henry heard her and stepped forward. “Okay, that’s it. Captain Man I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but I think you just want to stay here and pretend to be the Dad in our family. You already have two daughters, to be exact, who misses you.”

“Henry, be nice.” Mrs. Hart berates.

“No, no. Ma’am, your boy’s right.” Dad said. “I love being a superhero and having all these cool devices, wearing the snug suit that makes me look awesome, but sometimes I get lonely.” Me and Bri looked up at Dad as he talked and we both listened.

“I do have two beautiful daughters, but they’re growing up fast and they have friends now. I love those little girls, but they’ve been spending a lot of time with their friends, and I get lonely without them around.” I felt Henry kiss my cheek, and he wrapped his arms around my torso, and I smiled softly back at him. “And I guess over these past few days, I got carried away with how nice it feels to be part of a family.”
Me and Bri looked down and twiddled with our thumbs, then suddenly Charlotte ran to the door and looked outside.

“Aw man, the dude ran away!”

“Well go get him!” Dad tells her like it’s the most obvious thing ever.

“Me?”

“Hurry!”

We all berate Charlotte until she groanss and leaves the house. It became dead silent again and Dad pats Henry’s shoulder.

“Henry.” He shoved him to the side.

“Piper.” He shoved her to the side.

“Mom.” He smirked at Mrs. Hart, and Bri whacked his shoulder.

“I really enjoyed these past few days here. Thank you for that.” Dad tells her. “But I think I need to return home and see my daughter.

He glanced at Bri and then he looked at me, and we both smiled with pure joy.

Mrs. Hart chuckles. “Well, maybe one day you’ll find a nice girl, get married, and add more to your family.”

Dad looks back at Henry, Piper and I and Bri before responding.

“Nah.”

The door opened and Mr. Hart walked in.

“Hey did I just see Charlotte, tacking a grown man out in the street?”

“Dad!” Henry beams.

“Honey you’re home!”

“Yay…” Piper says, groaning that her father is home.

“I thought you were gonna pick me up at the airport?” Mr. Hart asked his wife. “What’s Captain Man doing here? Hi, Arianna & Brianna!”

Me and Bri wave back with a warm smile on our faces.

“We ran into a little problem when you were out of town.” Mrs. Hart began.

“Captain Man wore your robe.” Piper says laughing, as she grabs Stella from her mom’s arms and starts petting her.

“My robe!” Mr. Hart laughed. “Why would he-” He paused when he saw the family portrait. “Uh...when was that taken?”

Before anyone could respond Charlotte walked in with the criminal; she was out of breah and her clothes were wrinkled, along with her hair being messed up.

“Well I caught him!” Charlotte exhaled with irritation. “You’re welcome.
