Chapter 35 (Part 2)

Yuvaan's POV

"How about we play a game instead?"

I glanced at the girl who was looking at me in horror. She opened her mouth to say something but closed it when she saw the gun in my hand.

"Who are you?" the guy beside me asked me in suspicion.

"You don't know me? Am I not popular enough?" I questioned.

"If you want to join the fun, then you will have to pay us," he sneered.

I smirked. "Of course I want to join, but I will be the one to decide how it goes."

He narrowed his eyes at me but gulped nervously when I put the gun to the back of his head. Others exchanged curious glances and told me to explain what I was planning; if I was thinking of ruining their entertainment, they would beat me up and weren't convinced that I could shoot them.

So, to prove my point, I shot the leg of the guy who was recording with his phone. Before his friends could react, I shot everyone in their right leg and grinned widely at their shocked reactions which were blended with the excruciating pain they were feeling.

The girl who was sitting on the floor had closed her eyes with her palms and was trembling furiously. Ever since I arrived, she was stuck to the same spot; she must be scared badly. I went to her and pulled her up by her elbow. She shook under my touch and shrunk even more.

"Stand here and don't move at all," I said, and she nodded lightly.

She had the chance to escape but I knew she wouldn't do that; moreover, she looked really weak. She still didn't know if I was on her side or just a serial killer who was strolling in town, digging bullets in random people.

After planting her in one place, I turned towards my toys which were rolling on the floor, yelling curses at me. When two of them tried to run, I shot them in their other leg, and took out their belts one by one.

I tied their wrists with them and hung them on the lowest tree branch. I admired my craftsmanship and after painting their faces with colourful bruises, I told them what I had in store for them.

"I will play a little game with you. Today, I will not only destroy you but your coming generations too."

An evil smirk crept up my lips as I saw their eyes widen in horror when the realisation struck them. They started pleading to me to spare their lives, but I ignored their pathetic excuses.

"Don't be shy; I am sure you all will enjoy," I taunted and went beside the tiny girl who had again closed her eyes.

I moved up my gun and took my aim. "Open your eyes, kid," I told her.

She did as I commanded and asked me if I was going to kill her too. When I shook my head, she sighed in relief and wanted to leave as soon as possible but I stopped her to watch the fun. She pursed her lips in anxiety but didn't move.

"Watch and learn," I stated and aimed my gun at the guy on the far right.

"Yuvaan is a murderer
Yuvaan is a beast~
If you behave nicely
He will give you a treat~"

Bang!

I shot the guy in the balls, his voice piercing my eardrums. I glimpsed at the girl beside me, and she had covered her ears with her hands, but this time, she didn't look away. She shot me a glance, and I noticed her fear fading a bit.

"What's Yuvaan's favourite colour?
Black, black and black~
Yuvaan likes to chase
So, don't lose your track~"

Bang! Bang! Two more symbols of manhood sacrificed.

"Please, don't kill us. We beg you, we didn't even do anything," others begged while wailing loudly.

Were they expecting me to wait till they actually did something? What a bunch of motherfuckers.

"We promise we won't do anything! We were just scaring the girl," one of the guys reasoned.

"I am also doing the same." I shot him and moved my gun towards his friend.

"Yuvaan is a monster
What goes inside his brain?~
If you want to know...
Then first learn what is pain~"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

I emptied the magazine and reloaded it. After butchering the future generations of the five rapists in front of me, I created numerous holes in their bodies which made them shut up for once and all; all of them died too soon.

Did they even expect that it was their last night?

"Why did you kill them? Aren't you afraid of going to jail?" the girl asked in worry.

"Why will I be afraid of my second home? By the way, you really don't know who I am?" I queried.

"Are you really Yuvaan Raichand?" she questioned in disbelief.

"I am glad you know me." I smirked, and her eyes widened in shock.

"What are you doing in a place like this?" she enquired with curiosity and threw a disgusted glance at the dead men hanging from the tree.

"You have a lot of questions for someone who is planning on becoming a doctor," I said and picked up her medical books which were lying a few metres away.

"Thank you for saving my life; if you hadn't come on time, those bastards would have raped..." she chocked and wiped her eyes.

"It might hurt to hear but it won't be every time that someone will come to save you. Learn to fight for yourself; this cruel world has no place for innocence. You either kill or get killed. That's the basic law of survival."

She nodded subtly, and I asked her where she lived. She pointed towards the opposite road and informed that her place was twenty minutes away. When I enquired about her roaming so late in the night, she said that she was attending night classes to prepare for her medical entrance exam.

"Getting in a medical college is no joke, so I am trying everything I can," she explained.

"I will drop you home, but I don't have my car right now, so we will have to walk," I suggested.

She agreed and we headed towards her house. I gave her my cellphone to call her guardians since she lost her phone while running from those men. She smiled happily after talking to her parents and told me that they were waiting for her to reach home.

At least she had someone who was looking forward to her coming home; I was jealous.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Ekanthika," she replied.

She thanked me once more after I dropped her off at her place and managed to leave before her parents made me sleep in their home as a way of expressing their gratitude. Forty minutes later, I reached my office's building and drove off in my sports car.

Throughout the ride, I kept replaying the earlier incident and felt miserable. Ekanthika's family was small, but all of them looked so happy when they got their daughter back safe and sound. Her younger sister couldn't stop squealing and kept checking her eyesight in case she was imagining seeing me for real.

For them, I had a better life, but they didn't know that I would even kill to get the smile they were sporting so effortlessly. Since childhood, I was alone: no siblings, no friends, and Mom was too busy taking care of my needs that she never got time to spend with me.

I didn't blame Mom for anything, but I knew she held herself responsible for messing my childhood. According to her, if she was a good mother, then I wouldn't have been a damaged man today. But it was not entirely her fault; she couldn't control how my mind worked.

I parked my car in the garage and walked inside the humongous house which though looked luxurious, screamed loneliness which only I could hear. Just like always, I threw my coat on the couch and kicked off my shoes in a corner. I was about to jump on the stairs but halted when I saw my wife, who should have left days before, sitting on the dining table.

She had her left elbow propped on the table, her chin resting on her fist. I blinked multiple times to confirm if she was actually there or not. I moved towards her and poked her head. She didn't waver and kept sleeping with half closed eyes.

When I poked her again, she swayed and was about to hit her head on the wooden surface, but I caught her in time. I noticed a few scratches on her forehead in one spot, indicating that she had banged her head before.

But that was not the only weird thing, her body was heated up. I saw the remote lying beside her and switched off the muted TV, ending Tom & Jerry's running sequence abruptly.

When I saw that Reyna wasn't waking up even after I poked her multiple times, I picked her up and took her to my room. I laid her on my bed and called my doctor. When he arrived, he did his usual checkup procedure and informed that Reyna was underweight.

He left after giving me some instructions about her diet and told me to inform him when she awakes. I nodded and when he exited my room, I sat down beside Reyna who was sleeping peacefully.

"I thought you can never get sick," I said and moved my hand towards her.

Don't touch her with your filthy hands, you murderer.

I kicked off my inner voice, who kept pestering me to get Reyna out of my room and took my wife's left hand in mine. Her bangles slid down and revealed various thin, light red coloured bruises around her wrist; some of them were black in colour.

"Were you chained up, Kitten?" I examined the scars.

Going by their severity and her skin's condition, those marks looked quite old. I instantly moved my gaze to her legs. After contemplating a lot, I moved her saree above her feet and my doubt was right. Just like her wrists, there were bruises around her ankles, her skin peeled off in some places.

How come I didn't notice them before?

"Is this why you keep hiding yourself?" I mumbled and pulled down her saree.

I exited the room after glancing at her and decided to go to my study room. But my stomach growled and when I caught the sight of the food on the dining table, I went downstairs. While I was munching on my Mom's cooking, my gaze landed on some photographs lying where Reyna was sitting earlier.

I finished my meal and checked those pics. All of them were of men and some of the guys were familiar too.

Advait... That bastard! This is the surprise gift he was talking about?

I took the photographs and threw them in the furnace. As long as Reyna was in my house, no other man was allowed; not even their pics. If anyone even dared to look at her, I wouldn't hold back from clawing their eyes out.

Are you getting attached to that bitch? Listen to me, Yuvaan, you don't need anyone. You have me, and we don't have a place for an outsider. Yuvaan! Are you even listening? That fucking whore is dragging you away from me; I won't let it happen, Yuv. Yuvaan...

I locked up the annoying inner voice and sat down in front of the fire. I grinned when I saw the pics crumple up into ashes, getting consumed by the dancing red monster which was making a satisfactory cackling sound, similar to that of my heart.

Reyna Yuvaan Raichand. No matter what anyone says, Kitten is my wife and she is going to remain mine only.
