"Heard that you are taking Management Studies?"

Jungkook nodded, stapling the form and his documents together. "What about you?"

"Literature."

Jungkook chuckled, his friend loves literature a lot and he was aware of it from school time. "I knew it Xiu..!" he replied, smiling.

"Come on, let's get our forms right." Xiumin got up from his place, the time of form submission was up. Jungkook nodded, collecting his things and folder.

He was about to follow Xiumin but stopped in the midway when someone called him. He looked back and saw a girl smiling sweetly at him. She was holding his document, she skilfully tucked a hair strand behind her ear.

"You left your document."

Jungkook smiled like a formality as he took his document from her and headed back towards the entrance behind Xiumin.

Finally their forms were submitted and they both decided to grab a bite in the canteen.

"Jungkook sit back, I will get something." Xiumin placed his bag beside Jungkook and headed towards the counter. Jungkook lazily looked around, tapping his fingers in rhythm.

"Excuse me?"

He looked towards the source, she was the same girl from earlier. Jungkook found her smile was kind of contagious.

"Yes?" his 'I-feel-awkward-around-girls' disorder kicked in and he crawled back in his own skin.

"Nothing, I was just wandering around and I spotted you sitting here. Just thinking about starting the conversation. Umm.. is that okay?" She struggled with words, momentarily looking here and there to avoid awkwardness.

"Hmm..okay.." Jungkook hesitated. He looked towards the counter to see why Xiumin was taking so long.

"Your name?"

"Huh?" Jungkook raised his eyebrow, "..a.. Jungkook." he smiled.

"Eva... My name is Eva.." she smiled. Jungkook wasn't interested, he just nodded, smiling.

Eva saw how unimpressed and bothered Jungkook was, he did not even tried to talk nor he tried to manage an eye contact with her. He was practically being awkward.

Xiumin on the other hand arrived and saw the girl sitting with Jungkook. "Oh.. hi.. young lady. Sorry, we have food for two but no worries we can share." Xiumin smiled. Eva saw how comforting Xiumin's behaviour was unlike his friend.

"I am not hungry.. I was just trying to make friends and-"

"It's okay.." Xiumin interrupted, "My name is Xiumin and your name?"

"Eva."

"Pretty name." Xiu chucked as he pushed the plate in middle for her to grab a piece.

Jungkook remained as a mere spectator to their conversation, he did not even tried to communicate with her. He was totally behaving like an anti-social person who hates human interference in their life.

"Management Studies​?" Xiumin shouted. "Jungkook has taken Management Studies too." Xiumin was happy that finally there will be someone who can be with Jungkook in his absence. Also, there was one more reason behind his happiness and that was- he can be rest assured that there will be a girl finally in Jungkook's life after Haewon because he has practically seen his friend having struggles surviving and sleeping. He still remembers when Mr. Jeon use to call him for sleepover just to make sure that his son is not alone in his absence. Picture of Jungkook standing near the window, gazing at the moon is still fresh in his mind. Xiumin knows that Jungkook spends his time watching the moon till dawn when he is alone in the house and that's the reason he is under medication after the incident which happened few months ago. He knew, Jungkook was alone, all alone and he needs someone to bring his lost soul from past.

"Let's be friends." Eva smiled at Jungkook while he forced his lips to form a smile.

"How many more nights do I have to stay awake?" he asked the moon who was the only source of inspiration in his life.

"Medicines, Jungkook."

Jungkook did not turned, he knew it was one of his house staff who came to check on him.

"Keep it and go." he muttered without even looking at him.

"Sorry but Mr. Jeon had told me to stay till you take your medicine."

Jungkook sighed and he walked away from the window towards the man standing with the tray. He took the pill and placed it on his tongue, then he drank the water in the presence of his staff person.

"Good night." he greeted as the person walked outside, fully satisfied.

Jungkook smiled, spitting the pill in the corner. He knew, he has been given sleeping pills. He did not wanted to sleep because for him, feeling the coldness of the night encasing him as he dream of her was better than sleeping.

Jungkook walked back towards the window.

Her absence was like the sky spread over everything.

"Aren't you going out with Eva?"

Xiumin wasn't blessed with his gaze, he saw how busy Jungkook was with his assignments.

"Jungkook, wanna grab a beer?"

Jungkook shook his head as he continued writing something. Huffing, Xiumin landed next to him. He knew something was wrong. Jungkook's silence is like an alarm and Xiumin being his only fireman needs to put off the fire.

"Is something wrong Jungkook? Did you had a fight with your dad?"

"I am fine."

"No, you are not." Jungkook was almost startled due to the intensity of his voice. "Are you feeling lonely? Are you sleeping well buddy?" Xiumin wrapped his arms around Jungkook's shoulders​.

"I don't feel like being with Eva."

"Why? She is cool. She is fun to be with, what's the problem?"

Jungkook sighed. "She is not Haewon."

Xiumin almost lost his mind on his statement, he got up from his seat. "For god sake please Jungkook!! Just move on dude." he placed his hands on his hips. "Move on. Why are you still in the past? She is not in this world anymore..!! She is dead..!!" He flabbergasted.

"She is dead for you!! But not for me...!!!" Jungkook smiled hysterically. His fingers curling, hard enough for his nails to leave crescent shapes on his palms. "I can't. No matter how hard I try. I cannot. I need time… I need space… it feels as if..as if..I am.. being choked. Eva is a nice girl but she is not for me. I have been hanging out with her from past few months…it feels like I am forced… nothing makes sense with her….nothing Xiu… nothing make sense…because she is not Haewon."

"Jungko-"

"Hey boys." They were frozen on the spot. Xiumin turned and saw Eva standing at the door. "Why are you guys shocked?" she chuckled, approaching them.

Xiumin smiled with hesitation. He was bit worried that she must have heard everything but then his doubt vanished when he saw her smiling face.

"Hi Eva.." Jungkook got up from his seat as he collected his things. He was least bothered unlike Xiumin.

"Let's go to the canteen…" Xiumin chimed as he ran outside with excitement and left them alone.

Jungkook guffawed as he zipped his bag and was about to walk but then she stopped him.

"Jungkook.. I want to talk.."

"About what?"

"About the thing you were talking with Xiumin earlier."

His eyes widened. "You..You heard?"

"Unfortunately yes..!!" She faked a smile. "Let's not fool ourselves. We both know this won't be working.. let's..let's be mature and not see each other."

Jungkook could feel how painful her expressions were but at the end of the day, it was fated to happen. He cannot fake something which he don't feel. He cannot lie, never ever… no one can replace Haewon in his life…

"I feel the same. Thanks for understanding. It was nice knowing you." Jungkook smiled whole-heartedly as he made his way towards the entrance.

Her smile vanished when he left her alone with the scars he gave. "Lucky girl, she was." she muttered, mentally cursing her destiny.
