Chapter 1~ New Girl
Chapter 1~ New Girl:
Jace smirked proudly and pecked his new girlfriend on the lips, his back arching over.
Her lips were rather dry but he felt the moisture from her licking them seep onto his soft lips.
"I'll see you later Tessa," Jace waved to the smiling red head.
As he walked away his eyes found a black rock and he kicked it with his black shoe creating a clattering sound.
Everybody that stood somewhat close to him instantly stopped there chattering to turn their gaze on Jace, who flicked his brown hair.
One of the girls shouted out, "Are you taken?"
Jace rolled his eyes at this statement and chose to ignore the girl.
He could have told her that he was, but that would cause some serious issues.
This was girlfriend number 310.
Yes he had kept count of them all.
He even went as far as writing them all down in a little notebook.
What a manly thing to do, he thought.
But then again how else was I suppose to determine whether or not I'd completed the bet?
A loud hitting noise snapped Jace from his thoughts and he blinked his eyes, lowering them to the concreted ground where his school bag laid, the green straps sprawled away from the bag.
Jace groaned and snatched his bag up, throwing it in the car, the door wide open as the space beside it was empty.
Throwing himself in the front seat of the car, Jace smirked out the window at a girl who made angry hand gestures towards a tall, blonde, geeky looking guy who just stood there making eye rolls.
The guy may have been a geek, but Jace knew that, just like himself, he was a jerk.
"Jace!" a deep voice called out and Jace snapped his eyes over towards the tall boy who opened up the car door, a half smile written on his face.
"Cody, I didn't know I was your personal chauffeur."
"Don't you think that's a bit rude, I'm your best friend," Cody smirks which results in an eye roll from Jace.
"Yeah and your annoying as hell," Jace responded to Cody, the car still in the parking lot.
"Thanks. So I heard that you scored another girl today. What's this beauty's name?"
Jace laughed and pursed his lips before staring into the blue eyes of his best friend had one of his eyebrows raised.
"Yup you know Tessa Simon right?"
"Yeah that girl that gets teased by everyone all the time," Cody replied, straying his eyes out the window.
"She's my new girlfriend and god her kisses are shit," Jace shook his head as he could imagine those lips on his once again and it was almost as though he could taste the bitter lemon flavour again.
"Never doubted it," Cody turns to look back at Jace who was mid laugh, his lips pulled into a grin and his forehead furrowed revealing a stretch of wrinkles across it.
Once his laughing had died down he turned the keys in the ignition to start the car.
The two of them had been sitting in the parking lot for way too long, and as much as he was enjoying bagging out his new girlfriend, he had to get home at some point in time.
His foot stretched out to meet the black pedal to accelerate the car and from beside him he could hear the grunting sounds Cody was making.
As much as I love that kid, he really is quite a baby, he thought.
As he sped out of the parking lot his surroundings blurred and only the colourations of the scenery were visible.
Jace had his eyes narrowed and his hands held tight against the steering wheel making them pale.
"How long are you going to keep Tessa around for?" Cody asked, a hand running through his hair causing it to flick up in some spots.
"Ill be dumping her first thing tomorrow morning. There's no way I can stand her any longer than that. When we hug I just feel god damn engulfed with her fat rolls," he said, picturing her in her school shirt which showed of all the fat firmly and how her greasy hair was tied up in a too tidy bun, along with her double chin that rubbed against his chin whenever they kissed.
"Don't be too nasty about it, dude."
Since when did Cody care whether or not I was being nasty to someone when I broke up with them?
He was the one who started this whole bet thing and I knew that Cody knew that, that meant breaking up with them before anything serious happened.
There was no way that I was going to wait it out long enough for the relationship to start becoming serious.
The last time I did that, well, never mind, but I didn't wish these chicks to be requesting sex from me, he thought.
"Why not?" Jace asked Cody, the trees blurring past from the corner of his eye.
"Oh, no reason. Forget I ever said that," Cody murmured to the seats.
Jace scoffed and turned down a curved street and drove until he reached the end of it where his best friends house stood, tall and mighty, okay, not really.
Jace parked his expensive care with pure care on the grassed driveway with frayed patches of grass dotted here and there.
Jace heard a bang and snapped his eyes over to his friend who didn't bother to say as much as a good bye.
From in the car Jace called out, "The good bye was much appreciated!"
He could hear Cody laugh from his door and Jace pushed his foot onto the accelerator, the car speeding away from the homely looking house.
Sometimes he would find himself wishing he was the one that lived there in place of Cody.
His parents spent one hundred percent of their time at work and it was a rare opportunity for him to see them.
Most of the time it didn't affect him.
It meant that he could have more parties and bring girls over without having to worry about his parents finding out just how cruel he was.
Then there were the bad factors about it.
Every now and then Jace would start to feel lonely in the gigantic house with nobody else situated in it and then there was also the factor that Jace barely knew his parents.
The main thing he knew about them was that his mum was in the modelling industry as one of the designers and had also been known to perform on the catwalk every now and then, and his dad worked for the CIA.
Jace pulled up in the driveway of his house and turned into the garage in which automatically opened up with the sight of his car and his face that flashed in the security camera.
The car made a beeping type of sound and Jace flung his door open and stepped onto the concreted floor, the door flinging shut behind him.
A piece of his hair fell into his eye causing a twitching sensation, but he ignored it, he honestly couldn't care less about it.
From across the road he saw a bunch of people trying to un-load furniture from a gigantic white truck with the words; Furniture Truck scrawled across it in cursive, black writing.
There were about three guys helping un-load the furniture from the truck and then there were two people standing there trying their best to avoid the lots of furniture being carried around by the obviously strong guys.
There was a girl about the age seventeen or eighteen.
Her brown hair fell just past her shoulders in spirals of curls and then Jace noticed her white shorts that reached just above her knees to reveal her tanned, fit legs that Jace couldn't seem to take his eyes off.
Snapping his eyes away with a blink he ignored the girl and grabbed out his house key from his pocket in the grey shorts that tightened around his legs creating some type of suffocating feeling.
School pants these days, he thought.
The door handle twisted in a circle to reveal the hallway with a dusty grey set of tiles that led into the expensive looking kitchen with the grey splashback, silver oven, dishwasher, sink, stove, grey stoned bench top, perfectly painted white walls and polished white draws and cupboards.
Jace walked through the kitchen and into the loungeroom where he threw himself onto the white, leather lounge with a sigh of content.
Underneath his body he could feel the luxurious softness of the lounge relax his muscles and he sunk into the lounge, but he was soon snapped out of his glorious moment by a shrill voice.
"Jace, honey, I am home!"
His eyes snapped open from the daze he had previously been and his body shot up in a rush to turn and see a tall woman with straight, blonde hair running all the way to the edge of her butt.
Her skin was tanned and the clothes she wore were the perfect fit.
The dress was simple and black with the V neck showing off half of her boobs.
Her chocolate brown eyes stared into Jace sitting there staring at her.
What on earth was she doing here?
This was a rare occurrence that I didn't like getting used to.
"Mum? What the hell are you doing here?" He asked, jumping off the lounge.
"Don't use that word in this house Jace, and I am here to see you. I will be staying here for the week before leaving to go back to work."
"Okay," Jace replied, his shoulders sagging.
Standing up from his sitting position he walked over to where his mum stood, her hands on her hips.
"Oh, by the way we have some new people moving in across the road. Would you be a dal and go give them these," his mum said, handing over a piece of paper with cursive handwriting scrawled across the paper neatly.
My mum wrote a letter to?
What bizarre actions, he thought.
Scared of what her reaction may be jace scampered off across the road where the furniture truck had since disappeared and everything around this side of the street seemed as quiet as it usually did.
Once he made it to the dark, wooden door he knocked his fist lightly against the hard wood, feeling it vibrate through his knuckles.
"hello?" the same girl he had caught himself staring at earlier opened the door with no emotions sighted on her face.
Her bright blue eyes stared into his face and to say he felt slightly creeped out was an understatement.
"My mum wanted me to give you this. God knows why," he rolled his eyes and the girl glared coolly at him.
"What's with the nasty glare woman?"
"The way you speak, I do not appreciate it to say the least. For all you know I could be a big believer in god," she tilted her head and he eyes narrowed in angriness.
Jace scoffed.
How on earth could someone actually believe in that guy?
What the hell was so great about him, he thought in questioning.
"Well are you?"
"No," she breathed.
"Well, then, you cant say anything too much now can you?" he smirked, proud of himself.
"What if I was, though, huh? what then?" she counted back with a sickly sweet smile.
Jace rolled his eyes.
Sassy, he thought.
The girl he still didn't know the name of attempted to slam the door shut, but not without Jace stopping it just in time with his foot.
"Wait, I didn't quite catch your name."
She rolled her eyes and opened her mouth, "Shay Dyer. that was just to shut your mouth up."
Jace smiled and folded his arms, staring at her one last time.
It was love at first sight for Jace, oh, who was he kidding, she was just hot as hell.
