The clicking sound from my ODM gear wear echoed throughout the forest, the soft cool breeze hit my face while my eyes were scanning for titans. I had already come across 3 and as that cadet had mentioned there was only about 10, Levi had gone around the outside of the forest in search for those monsters. A small rustle grabbed my attention making me look back.

Nothing.

"Probably just some birds.." I muttered to myself turning my head only to face planting into a branch, "fuck!" I cursed at myself before launching the hooks of my ODM gear to catch myself before I had fallen to the hard ground, my body dangled as I was catching my breath. "That was not what I had planned."

I looked around to make sure there were no titans that could get to me, and I began to swing back and forth trying to get to one of the near by branches and get back to my mission. "Why is this so damn difficult." I was staring to get frustrated with myself, getting stuck out here wasn't what I had in mind for today. I heard ODM gear which caused for me to roll my eyes not wanting to have this interaction.

"Tch, what are you doing?" That unfortunately familiar cold voice came from on top of me, he landed on a branch above me giving me a cold look.

"I'm just taking a nap. What does it look like I'm doing!?" I say sarcastically while rolling my eyes. He gave me his overfamiliar cold glare as I started to swing back and forth again, this time landing on a branch near the Captain. "How many did you take out?" I question him, my eyes down at my gear checking that everything was good and nothing is broken or might malfunction.

"Four, three on the outer part of the forest and one just as I came in to find you." He said taking out a handkerchief to wipe some leftover blood off his hands.

"That leaves three to go, huh." I say calmly, I look around for any titans but there were nowhere to be found. I signed glancing back at shorty; his hair fell down on his face, some of his beautiful raven strands stuck to his pale forehead. His grey eyes glittered as the sunlight that was picking through the trees hit them, his eyebrows knitted together. His soft pink lips formed a line showing the frustration he had over the blood that stained his soft hands.

His lips.

The feeling of someone watching me along with the familiar rustle sound from before caught my attention, I turned around to the sound but nothing was there though that feeling of someone's eyes on me still remained. Levi was busy cleaning the blood of himself so it wasn't him looking at me, so who was? My eyes scanned all over but no one.

The fuck?

"Y/N!" I turned back around when I heard Levi desperately shout my name, he is so angry today. But when my eyes landed on what was in front of me, I froze. My eyes wide. Lifeless doll brown eyes staring back at me with a large ear to ear grin. It's hand extended towards me. A 15 meter titan was starting right at me and all I can do is stand and watch as it tries to grab me.

Move.

I couldn't. My legs felt like they were glued down to the branch I was standing on. My arms shaking but they refused to react. My heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest and leave me before I got eaten.

Is this the end...

It's finger was inches from my face, I couldn't scream nor move. All I could do is close my eyes and wait for my end.

This is how I... die.

Right when I was about to close my eyes and except my fate, it's body collapsed onto itself right before me. My gaze shifted to Levi who was now landing onto a branch. My eyes still wide from the shock of what was just about to happen.

"WHAT THE FUCK BRAT!" He yelled at me, "WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN MORE IMPORTANT BEHIND YOU THAN YOUR OWN LIFE!!" He kept yelling and yelling but all I could think of is how he just saved my life, again. This wouldn't have been the first time I've almost got snatched by a titan and Levi came in to save me, though this time was the first time I was frozen in place like that.

Before I would have been going around with my ODM gear and not noticing a titan or even about to kill one but almost being caught by it. But this time I was just not moving. It was like I was frozen in time. I felt so weak and hopeless, so useless. Again and again he had to swoop in and save me, yet again I've had to put him in danger too.

Why am I so useless.

"THAT WAS THE MILLIONTH TIME IVE HAD TO SAVE YOU! HAVE SOME SELF AWARENESS!" He continued.

"Thank you.." I finally found the courage to muttered out, I was sick of putting him and others in danger, I was sick of him having to save me. But I was still alive because he did.

Silence fell between us once more, I could feel his eyes on me but I couldn't look at him I was too ashamed. The silence was soon broken by loud footsteps, my head turned to find two 10 meter titans coming our way. "Tch, the bastard brought some friends."

I shook my head finally getting myself together, "I'll get the one on the right you go for the left." I say taking out my blades. "Look who is giving orders." I rolled my eyes at his reply and shot up off the branch towards the titan.

My hooks attached to the titans leg as I swung for it's ankle, my blades sliced through it's flesh making it stumble over. I made my way up it's body making cuts here and there with steam coming of it's every wound, I hooked onto it's arm heading for it's nape. My body turned as the blades pierced through the it, I landed on one of the branches near by then glancing over at Levi who had already killed his titan.

I looked down at my hands, blood dripping down onto my boot, "disgusting" I muttered to myself. Levi was also distracted with his own filthy hands not noticing me landing next to him. "Fucking filthy." He muttered as well which made me turn to him and he finally turned to great my gaze, he stared into my eyes and I did the same, completely getting lost into his magnetite eyes.

His eyes snatched me away from reality. His eyes seemed unsettled, like the waves of anger during a storm, boats that had the misfortune of coming across this typhoon, rocking back and forth trying not to topple over, by the angry waves that disturb their rest. Like a storm turning into a hurricane trapping me inside it alongside everything in its way, his eyes so sad but so powerful.

"We should head back." Levi's words brought me back, his eyes left mine and he turned to leave in the direction of the camp. He pushed off the branch with me following, he swung through the trees like wind, I followed suit doing the same. But soon he stopped at the edge of the forest, I landed next to him quite puzzled at his sudden stop.

"The heck, are you alright?" I question raising an eyebrow, he looked at his palm; bruises along with blood from the few cuts he had scattered around his hands, one of those cuts seemed to have some sort of splinters stuck inside. "Yeah, I'm fine brat." He brushed my question off and was about to jump off the branch again but I stopped him by grabbing the back of his jacket, which caused him to stumble back.

"Brat get off-" I cut him off by grabbing his wounded hand in my grasp examining it thoroughly. "Tch, for fuck sake, I don't need your filthy hands touching. I'm fine!" He tried to pull away but my hold only tightened on him.

"Geez, do you want it to get infected or something. Bacteria still exist you know. God you're a clean freak but you are still making a fuss..." I muttered the last bit, though as much as I wished he didn't hear me the death glare he gave me shattered my hopes. After a second or two I released my grip on him and started to look through the inside of my Scout jacket.

From inside I took out four things; my small circle water flask, a small glass that had the tiniest amount of sanitiser that Hange had given me, some bandages and my handkerchief. "Here. Hold." I say placing the bandages and the small glass in his other hand while opening the metal flask with my teeth. Careful pouring the water onto the wound to wash away most of the splinters, and then picking out the rest that remained.

I dry off the wound with the handkerchief then grabbed the small glass bottle, replacing it with the flask. I opened it slowly careful not to drop it, then put a small amount on a clean corner of the white cloth and began to disinfect. Levi tried to pretend like he couldn't feel anything but I could see that with every tap of the cloth against his skin he tensed up more and more. Finally when I had cleaned the wound probably I wrapped the clean white bandage around his hand.

"There you go, good as new~" I sang with a cheery tone similar to how Hange would do for me when I would get cuts and bruises after training. He muttered his usual 'tch' then checked his hand like I just cut it off or something. I start to put my things back in the inside pockets of my jacket, while Levi was also checking his gear making sure we were all good to go back.

"Whoever gets there last is a rotten titan!" I say with a smirk taking Levi off guard at my sudden take off. I stopped a few branches away and looked back to see if Levi was planning to join the fun, but instead of Levi I was greeted with the back of a titan. "There were more..."

Shit.

Levi was the titans target, I waited for him to take it down but after a few seconds I realised, Levi's hand. My grip tightened on my blades, my eyebrows knitted together frustrated with the situation. The titan had no idea I was behind it so it wouldn't see me coming, I swing of the branch and go straight for it's nape. My eye caught a glimpse of Levi who was also in the air going for the titans eyes, he's ok. My hooks attached to the titans hot flesh but Levi's shout of my name made me hesitant, "Y/N GET AWAY!!"

What does he want, I'm just trying to help.

But before I could even finish my thoughts I see the titans hand next to me, "shit!" I pushed off it's nape quickly. Carefully not to get hit, but instead of the titan squashing me it's fingers caught onto my wire and before I could react I was being swung right into Levi's direction. "FUCK!" I shouted not able to do anymore, my eyes widened as my whole body collided with Levi's causing the both of us to fall back against the tree.

My right arm instantly wrapped around Levi's head to shield him from the impact, my right side hit harshly against the tree. I felt my right arm crack making me bite down on the inside of my cheek from the pain. I felt a warm liquid run down my leg under my white jeans and soon a sharp excruciating pain throbbing inside my thigh.

We fell down the tree on the branch and whatever thing that had pierced through my skin broke off inside my thigh, my head pounding blood dripping down onto my jacket. "Brat! OI!" Levi's voice felt so distant and with his every word my hearing started to become fuzzy. "Hey! Stay with me!!" My eyes felt heavy and my thoughts went all messy.

Why is he shouting...

His face faded by the second along with any sound, soon everything went quite and all I could see was black.

I'm sorry Levi...

I couldn't protect you...

[flashback]

"Y/n, I want you on the east side of the building, Xenos you go with her." I look over at my now partner, my face twitched with disgust at his unpleasant smirk. I looked back at my father who was leading this mission, the goal of it was to get some sort of drug out of this rich bigs house.

After father gave us our orders me and Xenos headed towards the east, I climbed up towards the top of the roof for a better view on the guards. "Sooooo, we are alone... on a rooftop, under the moon light." I glared at him as he tried to get closer to me. I looked back down but he didn't stop, he thought I didn't notice but right when he was about to touch my shoulder I grabbed his wrist. "Don't. Touch. Me"

"Jeez Y/n, I know you're secretly in love with me. No need to hide from the truth." He said with a smug grin.

"Keep dreaming, the only one who is in love here is you." He was about to say something back but I slapped my hand over his mouth, he tried to protest, "be quiet for a minute, listen." I say pointing down to the men below us.

"Yeah have you heard, that bitch daughter of his." The man paused for a second, "people say she's a fucking maniac, she's killed over 100 men in the last year on her own."

"What! Damn that bitch is psycho, but I bet if I ever encounter her I would charm her with my outstanding looks. Maybe even get in bed with her." The men laughed at that disgusting comment, I cringed with every word that bastard let out.

"Yeah, people call her the 'Blood Princess'." Another man joined in.

"Fucking disgusting bastards!" Xenos muttered under his breath after I had put my hand down from his face. I looked over at him and he was looking down, his bloodshot red hair fell onto his pink freckled face. "I'm going to kill them." He said and was about to leap over the edge of the roof but I stopped him.

"Hey! What are you doing? We have to wait for the signal remember." But as I said that it was like the walls send a telepathic signal to my father, the loud ear piercing whistle echoed inside my ears. Xeno jumped down and I followed.

We landed perfectly in front of the five guards who were covering their ears from the painful sound, one spotted me and it looked like his soul had left his body. "It's her... THE BLOOD PRINCESS!" He shouted with pure shock.

I immediately swung at him, taking my small dagger out of it's holder. The man couldn't even react, I had already sliced his throat, blood splattered onto my face. I brought my hand up to my cheek wiping the crimson coloured liquid onto my sleeve. From the corner of my eye I saw Xenos take out two of them and there were two left. I quickly took out the one on my right, then turning to the last one.

The brunette was paralysed with fear, he held up his shaking gun to me. "Oh? Are you gonna shoot me?" I say with a smirk knowing he didn't have the courage to actually do it. I lunged at him grabbing his arm that was holding the gun twisting it, the cracking of bones and his bloody screams followed. He looked at me with tears falling down his face like a waterfall, "YOU ARE A MONSTER!" His voice cracking with his every word.

I grabbed my knife placing it against his throat a bit of blood starting to spill out from the slight indent I had made. "Yes. Yes I am." And with that my knife sliced through his fragile skin. I stood back up, wiping away the blood onto my black jumpsuit.

"Y/N LOOK OUT!" Xenos yelled for my attention, but I didn't even have time to turn around fully when I heard a loud gunshot and soon a sharp pain starting to grow in my side. I looked down. Blood pouring down my right leg. "Fuck!" I collapsed on my knees holding myself up with my right hand and with the other pressing against my wound.

"YOU MOTHER FUCKER" I watched as Xenos ran towards the culprit leaving me alone, I could feel myself getting weaker and weaker as I lost more and more blood by the second. "Please... save me.." I hear one of the men that was laying down a foot or two away from me, Xenos was the one that supposedly killed him.

"I... don't... want to... die.." and with those last words all the remaining life drained out of him, his doll eyes staring at me. "Me too..." I muttered before collapsing, then soon closing my eyes trying to sooth the pain.

I don't want to die either.
