The Liar and The Gullible
"Wait, what do you mean 500 years ago?!" You asked, bewildered.
"Bro, she's just crazy, I'm sure-"
"Oh, now I remember you, you little prick," Jannette hissed, narrowing her eyes at Alfred. "You're the one that took him away!!" She lunged herself at Alfred, and he two started to brawl.
"I don't know what you're talking about!!!" Alfred shouted, he appeared to try to be holding her back.
Taking your chance, you approached Arthur, cautiosly. His eyes we're wide, his expression one of disbelief.
"Arthur?" You whispered, as to not startle him from his thoughts. "What's going on?"
"I don't know myself," Arthur replied. "I thought-"
"Jannette! Alfred!" A professor exclaimed, making the duo stop fighting. "No fighting in the halls! Oh dear lord what have you two done?!" Her eyes were wide, and she seemed to stop in her tracks at the sight of them.
Looking over at them, you saw Jannette was perfectly fine, but Alfred... Wasn't. Although his eyes were focussed and and steady, his expression calm, he had bite marks and scratches all over him, as if he walked into an alley filled with angry cats.
"Sorry professor, won't happen again," Alfred apologized, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly and flashing a small smile.
"Ow..." Jannette groaned, falling to her knees and clutching her arm. So this was who you were going to be dealing with. You remembered what she had said, and you couldn't help but feel as if your heart was shattered.
"What happened?" The professor asked, narrowing her eyes at all of us, as if she were looking straight through our souls.
"Well, J-"
"Alfred punched Arthur," Jannette started, interrupting you, and stood up,still holding her arm. "Really hard, so I stepped in and stopped him from doing any more damage.. Just look at his arm, it's bruised!"
"That's not what-"
"Alfred, Arthur, Jannette, go to the nurse," The professor ordered, her eyes observing the situation. "_____, come with me." You nodded quickly, and followed her, not looking back.
"Tell me what happened," The professor said, closing the door. "And I'll know if you lie, so don't." Nodding quickly, you began to speak.
"Jannette and I were walking down to the administration's office, when we found Arthur," You said, looking into those piercing green eyes, that were wise and threatening, almost. You told her what had happened, you felt your heart racing, and your hands felt somewhat fidgety, you felt too still and energized for your racing heart.
"Here, have some tea," The professor said, after hearing your side of the story. Nodding, you took the cup of tea, and took a sip. "It will help you calm down. Also, thank you for telling the truth." It really did help calm you down, and you set the cup down, sighing at the pleasant feeling of calm. Her gaze softened, in fact everything did, until a strange noise filled the room.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
Shooting your eyes open, you frantically looked around the room, unsure of your surroundings. You remembered you had arrived to the University just yesterday, after a long plane ride. Feeling the charm of the UK flag at your collarbone, you got ready for your first class.
