Broken Promises and Betrayal

You stepped foot onto the now busy campus, the feeling of nervousness and excitement filling you, as you had at the beginning of high school. Suit case in one hand, and your key in the other, you walked to the dormitory, which was also crowded. Smiling and greeting people as you walked to your assigned dorm room, you paused when you got to the door.
Your heartbeat quickened. What if your roommate didn't like you? What if she was some sort of serial killer? Probably not, but you would still like to have your life and make it through the year.
"This is it," You whispered to yourself, inserting the key and opening the door. "I can't believe this is actually happening..."
Inside the dorm room were two beds, a door to a bathroom, two closets, a miniature kitchen. Your roommate was already settled in, and she was looking right at you.
"Hi, I'm Jannette," Jannette greeted, giving a small wave. With that gesture you felt yourself calm, any negative thoughts left like water would from a broken container.
"Nice to meet you Jannette, I'm _____," You introduced yourself, and the two of you made small talk while you were placing your belongings in their place.
"Do you know the Wi-Fi password?" You asked.
"I was hoping you knew," Jannette sighed. "Let's go find out, shall we?"
"We shall," You  laughed, and she laughed as well.

On your way to the administrations office to find out the pass code, you found Arthur laughing to himself in the Hall.
"Hey Arthur!" You exclaimed joyfully, walking up to him. You seemed to snap him from his trance.
"Hello, love," Arthur smiled. The two of you looked into each other's eyes, Arthur's eyes were just so dreamy, they reminded you of home...
You were snapped from your trance, and you remembered what you were doing.
"Hey Arthur, by any chance do you know the Wi-Fi password?" You asked.
     "I'm afraid I don't-"
"Don't worry!" You heard Alfred yell, right behind you. "I know it!"
"Don't yell so loudly!" Arthur hypocritely yelled.
"Hate to say it, but Artie is right~" Jannette basically flirted. "Especially not in someone's ear." She stood beside Arthur, her eyes glinting with obvious attraction. You furrowed your eyebrows, you did not like her behavior towards YOUR man.
"Hey (friendly nickname)," Alfred sighed, you could tell he was internally face palming. "Let me see your phone real quick."
"Sure," You agreed, handing over your phone. "Thanks Al."
"No problem!" Alfred began fiddling with your phone, and you turned your attention back to Arthur. He seemed to be calm, and returned your gaze. Jannette gave a large smirk to you, you saw her eyes seemed to be attacking you with arrogance and confidence.
"Artie, do you not remember me?" Jannette asked, her expression then turning to innocence from her egotistical and bold state.
"I'm afraid I don't know you," Arthur said. "I'm sorry if we had met and I'm just not remembering."
"We did," Jannette whispered. "And you'd promise that you would marry me, the next time we met..."
"What are you talking about?!" Arthur asked, irritation in his voice.
"I still have the ring," Jannette sighed. "It's really pretty too, they look just like your eyes... Which always have seemed to be older and wiser than time itself, and they still do, even 500 years later."
