Chapter 34 | Logic

Recap ~
The Wedding

That first night of their married life, Anika was lost in thoughts staring at the sky when Shivaay took a place behind her. Embracing her into his arms he asked, "Anything wrong Anu?!"
"You would have married Tia if Dadi didn't do this drama?!" She asked.
Hearing her, he chuckled "Of course not! I anyway thought of escaping from my own wedding! Shivaay and Tia would have never married."

All of a sudden, she pecked his lips surprising him. Her heart knew it but she still wanted to hear the answer from him.

"What would you do seeing me in the mandap with Tia?" Shivaay asked curiously when she said, trying hard not to laugh "Given you both my blessings!"
"Anika! Not fair at all. I planned so much to stop the marriage and you have nothing to do?!" He asked again feeling upset.
"I genuinely didn't have any plan. Maybe my heart knew you wouldn't marry Tia." She smiled making him smile.

They loved every minute of spending time with each other, after so long. It was the first night both could sleep peacefully in each others' arms.

The next morning in the kitchen, "Shivaay I should be cooking breakfast today." Anika whined seeing her husband already in the kitchen chopping some veggies.
"There is no rule like that." He told casually when she warned him, "Well there is, Pehli Rasoi! This is a ritual every daughter-in-law should do, so you better leave otherwise —!"

"I modified the ritual slightly. It's pehli rasoi for both of us. I'm cooking for Papa and you are cooking for Dadi and the rest." He said concentrating on his fine chopping.
"Don't compete with me. You know I'm not really good at cooking!" Anika spoke honestly and he laughed, "I know."

She smiled at the way he thought of her father but frowned the moment she thought of the competition she had to face.

"Add lemon at the end." Anika suggested as she admired the perfect chef in action. She was too engrossed in her husband's food that she forgot her own.
"Can you get the lemon?!" He asked politely and she left to get one like an obedient child.

Within minutes she came back to see Shivaay already packing the food.
"Lemon?!" She asked confused when he said, "Must be helpful to not feel the taste of your burnt food! Make sure you squeeze every drop of it."
"Shivaay!" Anika hollered horrified at the thought of burnt food. Looking at the food she made, she breathed a sigh of relief "Turned off the stove at the right moment. But did I?!" She wondered.

Anika looked at her father peacefully sleeping. As she caressed his face, he slowly opened his eyes to find his daughter smiling happily after many years. Joining them, Shivaay introduced himself "Papa, this is Shivaay. Your son-in-law!"
"He knows you!" Anika said surprising him.
"But how?!" He asked to which she said back, "He knew you as Shivaay, a simple college guy passionate about life, football and not to forget, his daughter's secret boyfriend."
"He knew I'm your boyfriend and accepted me as well?" He asked surprised again.
"He trusted my choice." She smiled simultaneously looking at her father and husband.

"I'm sorry Papa. I hurt your daughter for five years!" He said feeling guilty when Anand stared at Shivaay, his expressions being simply unpredictable.
"Dare you hurt my daughter again!" Anika imitated her father's thoughts and Shivaay said back taking his hand into his "Never!"

"Tell me what happened in the past five years?!" Shivaay asked as they drove back home.
"I felt as if a magnet pulled away my happiness after that day!" Anika smiled faintly as she stared at the road.
"I was that magnet." He sighed sadly.
"I'm happy I got my magnet and happiness back!" She chuckled trying to lighten his mood.
"I'm sorry Anu!" He spoke again, feeling really bad for whatever happened all those years.
"I don't want sorry from you!" She enunciated and he asked back what she wanted instead.

"Chocolate ice cream." she squealed in excitement.
"The chocolate ice cream has more importance than my sorry?!" He asked shocked.
"At the moment — yes!" She said trying hard not to laugh at his expression.

Anika was admiring her chocolate nut fudge while Shivaay was admiring her.
"You are not getting even a single bite!" Anika said looking at him when he said back "I can. Not a big deal, so better don't challenge me!"
"I'm not challenging, just saying!" She told and attacked her ice cream from all sides.

As usual she messed up while eating ice cream making Shivaay chuckle.
"Come here! There is chocolate on your nose, let me wipe it off." He said demonstrating his oscar acting when she said smartly, "No problem. I will clean up before leaving from here."

He was disappointed but didn't stop. He was trying the best possible ways but nothing really worked out.

"Okay you win!" He said sadly to which she said smiling victoriously, "See I told you, this is not a competition at all. It is a pure win from the beginning."
"True!" Shivaay nodded when she looked at him and said, "It's okay, happens. Take just one small bite and give it back! Okay?"
Taking the ice cream he smirked, "Thanks for giving up so easily. I win." saying he took a bite.

"What logic is that even?! I win!" She said flabbergasted.
"That was my trick. I can win in anyway I want!" He smirked when she hollered, "Random! I don't accept."

The never ending argument continued till the next day.
