Belle watched her friend as she got dressed for dinner. She was so happy that Kara was finally in a happy place with a man that adored her. She had gone through so much, now you wouldn't even know that she had a rough past.

"Belle you don't think this skirt is too much?" Kara asked unsure.

"Girl the skirt hits below the knee and you can't help how it hugs your curves. You look amazing boo and you know Dray is going to think so too." Belle smiled.

"I hope you right." She touched the neck of her black keyhole shirt.

Kara's hair hung loosely in waves down her back. The black and white striped skirt hugged her frame perfectly. She was nervous as hell because she was actually going to meet Dray's mom. Kara prayed that his mother like her. Not only that she hoped that his sister did as well. She looked at the clock and realized that Dray would be in less than five minutes.

On cue the doorbell rang. "Girl get you nerves together and I will get the door." Belle chuckled heading downstairs.

Kara nodded and fluffed her hair. She applied her red lipstick quickly and grabbed her black Prada clutch that matched her heels. Satisfied with her look, she headed downstairs. Dray sat on the couch where his back was facing her. Belle looked up and smiled causing him to turn around.

Dray slowly stood looking at Kara as if it were the first time seeing her. Something tugged at his heart every time he looked at her. She was amazing and stunning all at the same time. He walked over to her, grabbing her hand making her spin around one good time.

"Baby you looking beautiful, but you always look beautiful to me." He flashed a sexy ass grin.

"Thank you. You look amazing, heart-dropping sexy in your all black Armani and let's not forget how good you smell." Kara touched his chest.

"Girl if we weren't pushed for time I promise you could get it." He grabbed he small hand ushering her out the door.

"By Belle." Kara yelled at the threshold of the door.

"Bye guys!" She yelled behind them.

She turned on her heels and headed upstairs to get her purse. She was going to lock up and head out to eat dinner alone as usual. Once she locked up she headed to her car unaware of the car parked across the street, watching and waiting. Getting in her car she started and pulled off in the direction of food.

"Dray do you think your mother will like me?" She looked at him as he drove through traffic.

He grabbed her hand in his. "Baby she is going to love you. Stop worrying because you are a good woman, my woman." He smiled.

"Aw I'm so glad that I met you. You make me so happy and you brightened my dark and gloomy life."

"Baby you did the same for me." He said as he pulled into his mother's yard.

His mother had a nice cottage style home with a beautiful yard. Hanging flower baskets hung on the porch. Kara was in awe. Dray shut the car off and noticed that Paul's car was here.

"The hell is he doing here?" Dray mumbled.

"Who baby?" Kara rubbed his thigh.

"Paul."

Kara scrunched her eyebrows. "That is interesting unless...." She smiled knowingly.

"Yeah he's interested in my sister, but I told him if he fuck over her I would fuck him up." He frowned slightly.

"Savage are we?"

"You didn't know." He chuckled.

Dray got out the car and walked around to help Kara out. Once her feet touched the ground he closed the door and pressed her back against it. He held her at her waist looking down at her. "I'm so blessed to have you Kara, you know that?" He said as he rested his forehead against hers.

"No baby I'm the one that's blessed." She leaned in pecking his lips.

Dray pulled back and grabbed her hand, leading to the front door. He rung the bell and waited for his mother or sister to come to the door. Seconds later Danni came to the door looking from Dray to Kara. Her light-brown face broke into a grin.

"Wassup punk? Hello Kara." She smiled warmly.

"Oh so that's how you greet your brother."

"Boy bye. Anyway Kara its good to meet you." She grabbed Kara's hand pulling her in the house.

Dray smiled because he could tell that Danni liked her on the spot. Danni got vibes off people instantly and it was apparent that she got a good vibe off Kara. He stepped inside and his eyes landed on Paul.

Paul nodded and Dray just looked at him shaking his head. "How the hell did you end up invited to dinner?" Dray inquired sticking his hands in his pocket.

"Ask your sister? She can be so demanding." Paul shook his head.

"Hey that's Danni for you. What's really up with you two?"

Paul rubbed his beard in thought. He wanted to make sure he answered this question carefully. "Dray I can't explain it, but it has always been an attraction between us. She's a good woman and I'm really trying to see where this can lead to. And before you get in on my ass, no I'm not playing her man. I really am into her."

"Good." Dray nodded heading towards the kitchen with Paul in tow.

Dray stood back and took in the way that Kara, Danni and his mother, Katherine were talking and laughing. One would have thought they knew each other well. "Ladies what are y'all in here laughing about?"

"Oh this is ladies business which means it's grown folks business." His mother replied smartly.

Paul chuckled and Dray just shook his head.

"Well can I steal my lovely woman back?" He stepped farther into the kitchen.

"No, you have her all the time. Let's us have her for a minute. It won't be long before she's my sister-in-law anyway."

Katherine smiled as she looked at her son. She knew that it wouldn't be long before marriage took place and she had a feeling that it wouldn't belong before she had some grandbabies around here.

"Son she is beautiful inside and out. You got a good one right here." She grabbed Kara's hand squeezing it.

"Oh thank you Mama Kat."

"Mama Kat?" Dray raised his brow.

"Yes. Is their a problem?"

"No ma'am." Dray smiled sheepishly.

Dray was now standing right behind her Kara and wrapped his arm around her waist. Danni and Paul were busy giving each other the eye. Katherine was so happy to finally see both her kids happy and in love; although Katherine knew that both Danni and Paul were in denial.

"Okay y'all ready to eat some good ole soul food?" Katherine clapped her hands in delight.

"Momma you already know." Dray smiled.

"Tonight was amazing Dray. Your mother and sister are so nice. We set up a girls day out soon and I can't wait." Kara smiled as she rested her head against the seat.

"Yeah and they love you to death." Dray said as he started the car.

Just as he was about to back out Kara's phone rang. She looked at the screen not recognizing the number. "Hello?"

"Is this Kara James?"

"It is. May I ask who's calling?" She glanced at Dray as he looked at her.

"Uh yes this is Detective Jones and we are at your home, Miss James someone set your house on fire."

"WHAT!?!"

Kara looked at Dray as tears streamed down her face. The Detective was still trying to tell her more, but she was still shocked at his words.

"Kara...baby what is it?"

"M-my house it's been set on fire......"
