Chapter 4

I was going to wait until tomorrow but I couldn't. So here you guys go.

* I do not own any of these pictures*

Carlisle's POV
Before meeting Gwen.

The others were currently getting ready to leave for school, where as Renesmee and I will remain home. I am going to be starting work tomorrow, seeing as I Esme will be back tonight.

"Now Ness we'll see you after school today. Listen to Carlisle." Bella tells her kissing her cheek. It's amazing how just the other day Bella was human when she made Ness. Something we thought could've never happened, but here we are.

"Carlisle are you sure you'll be okay?" Edward asks

"Edward, I understand your concern but I think I've lived long enough to know how to handle kids."

"Just checking old man." He says walking over to his car. I roll my eyes.

"Alice, Rosalie and Jacob! Let's go!!" He shouts.
"Can't be late for another first day of school."

Jacob runs out the house heading towards Ed's car, not before ruffling Ness' hair. Alice follows after, with a irritated Rosalie mumbling behind her. Something about Alice changing 5 times.

While heading over to Jasper's car Alice freezes mid way, causing all of us to look at her. Jasper rushes to her side immediately.

"What did you see?"

"Jashville is going to be greater than we expected." She says smiling brightly, looking at me.

"Hey Carlisle why don't you take Ness out for some breakfast before y'all start today." Edward tells me. I watch the two confused.

"Yeah!! I heard this place called Darling's has the best pastries in town." Alice says clapping excitingly.

What is she on about?

"Want to go get those pastries Ness?" I ask looking down to her.

"Why not."

Pulling into the carpark, seeing the big sign saying Darling's. I tell Ness to stay in the car seeing as I won't be long and I don't want anyone seeing her.

I headed on in, the door chiming as I entered.

DARLING'S

"Hello I am Darling Grace. I'm the owner of this Bakery. This is Jewel Mason"She says pointing at the younger girl.
"And this beautiful lady right here, who decides to stay seated is Gwen Benedict." She says pulling the other woman from her seat but she kept her eyes to the floor not looking at me.

"Hi I'm Carlisle Cullen. I just moved here with my family. It's nice to meet you all. I heard that Darling's has the best pastries in town." I say, taking off my glasses.

"That's the truth. Gwen why don't you serve him." The woman's had snaps up to look at her.
"Jewel I think you should go check on that thing."

"Oh yes the thing. Excuse me while I go do that thing." Jewel says leaving to the back. With a hard nudge from Ms. Darling, Gwen looks up to her. The both having a internal battle it seems. Chuckling I watch as she gives her a firm look, and she sighs defeated heading to the counter.

"Um... What can I get you Mr. Cullen?" Her voice was beautiful, sadly she still did not look up.

"Please call me Carlisle and I'll take 2 of your cheese pies and 2 sugar donuts please." I tell her after looking over the items they sold. Ms. Darling runs behind the counter taking out my order. While the other stood peeking from behind the back door.

"Oh sure. That will be £30 sir."

"Sure." I hand her my card and she proceeds to make the payment.

"Here you go Mr. Cull- I mean Carlisle." She says, finally looking up at me, I feel my dead heart skip a beat. Her beautiful blue eyes locks to mines. It was if time stopped.

Is this what Alice saw earlier? Is this why she sent me here?

We held each other gazes until someone cleared their throat. I looked over to Ms. Darling smiling softly, taking the bag of pastries from her hands.

"Thank you. It was a pleasure meeting you all." My eyes meet her again. I didn't want to leave, but I know I had too.

I can't believe I met my her.

A big smile takes over my face, as I enter the car. I look back towards the bakery. She was still looking in my direction.

"Grandpa?" I jump, turning around to look at Ness. I completely forgot she was here.

Handing her the pastries, she thanks me, peeking in the bag. I start the car, staring at her again.

"Is that your mate, Grandpa?"

"Yes. Yes it is." A smile taking over my face again, this time I drove off.

Gwen's POV

It was now 4:45pm, so it was time to pick up Henry. Aiden's daycare closes at 5, so after picking up Henry I normally pass for him one time.

"Soo...you might meet your future kids when you pick up Henry." Ms. D says and Jewel laughs.

"Ms. D again nothing is going to happen between us." I say getting my keys and leaving.

"We'll see about that!!"

Pulling up in the car park, some students and their parents stare at me as I did. I reversed into a spot waiting for Henry to come out.

Ping!
One new Message.

Ms.D
Look out for your future kids😉

I really can't with her sometimes. Leaving her on read, I get out the car waiting for Henry, who was taking longer than usual.

Students started filing out, some leaving immediately, others standing by their cars talking to their friends. The front door opens again, and I watch as the new kids walk out. Everyone stopping their conversations to watch them.

My eyes met with one of the boys with brown hair. I don't see him say anything, but all their eyes turn to look at me.

Did they know already of what transpired this morning?

"Hey sis. Sorry for being late." Henry says popping out of no where, completely blocking my view of them.

"Hey H. Where were you? You normally don't take so long." I ask him. Blinking a few times to get my eyes back in focus.

"Oh sorry about that. I was talking to coach about football practice tomorrow." He says as if it was nothing. Walking over to the passenger side, getting in.

Talk...coach...football?

FOOTBALL!?!

"You joined the football team!?!"

"Can you not shout, and yes I did." He replies, putting his bag in the back. Nintendo in hand. I quickly get into the car, pulling him by his shirt.

"G-Gwen!" I check his forehead making sure he's not sick.

"Are you okay? Do you have a cold? How many fingers am I holding up?" I ask, lifting three fingers.

"Stoooop." He says, moving my hand from off him and sitting back in his seat properly, putting on his seat belt.

"I could have you charge for that you know."

"Oh please. You really joined the football team?"

"Yes. We had P.E today and Mr. Hue teamed up with the football coach to train us a little. Coach and James, the captain of the team, were shocked at how well I played and asked me to try out. One of their players got suspended and they have an important game coming up and they asked if could play."

"And you said YES?! Oh my gosh. My Nintendo playing brother, is playing real sports now. Are you sure they're not messing with you?"

"No." He laughs.
"I have official tryouts with the team tomorrow. Can we go now?"

I couldn't believe it. Who would of thought the day would ever come. My brother is playing football. Actual football.

And he's acting as if it's not a big deal.

Finally getting over my shock, I turn on the engine, driving off. Taking a quick glance back across the carpark to see that the new kids had already left.

Probably left during my shock of Henry's revelation.

"Are you seriously on the football team? Like real football team?" I ask again. Glacing to see him playing on his Nintendo.

"Yeah. I didn't expect to like it but it seems cool. Coach says I have a lot of potential to be a great player."

"Wow. I'm proud of you H." He looks to me smiling.

"Thanks Sis."

We pull up in Martha's driveway and she was already outside with Aiden.

"Hey Mar. How was today?"

"He was a little fussy. He's not feeling to well." She says handing him to me. He wraps his arms around my neck, resting his head down on my shoulder.

My poor baby.

"Thanks much Mar. See you tomorrow." I say, taking his bag.

"Take care of my Aidie for me." She tells me rubbing his back.

It's really saddening to see Aiden like this. It really hurts my heart. He's such a bubbly character, that whenever he's gets like this, you know something's wrong.

I walk over to the car, strapping Aiden in when he starts fussing.
"I'll hold him." Henry says, getting out the car and going to the back. Unstrapping Aiden and holding him in his arms.

"Sick?"

"Yeah." Beeping my horn at Martha, I drive off. Aiden fell asleep a little while after we left Martha. Pulling back up at Darling's, I see the same 3 cars from before, now parked out front.

"The Cullens are here?" I get out the car, holding the door for Henry to get out. Taking Aidie's bag in my hand, we head on inside.

Ms. D stood in the center of the shop, talking to our new residents.
"Oh just the person I was waiting on. What's wrong with little Aid?" She asks walking over to him, resting her hand on his forehead, feeling his temperature.

"Not to good. Martha said he's not feeling well. Could be a cold." I tell her. Henry excuses himself, taking Aiden's bag from me and going off to the back.

"Hmm." She watches Henry leave before she snaps out of it. As if remembering what she wanted to say.

"Oh yes!! Gwen I invited the Cullens over for dinner tonight."

Wiping my hand over my face. I let out a frustrated sigh.
"Ms. D they just moved here. Give them sometime to settle in."

"I didn't wait for you to settle in. And I have a good feeling that we are all going to be good friends."

"I think so too Ms. Darling." The shorter girl with Pixie hair says. They were all extremely pale just like their father and their eyes all the same color except for more tanned boy.

Hmm.

"Oh my, where are my manners. Guys this is Gwen Benedict. The boy who just passed is Henry Benedict. He goes to school with you and the bundle of joy in his arms is Aiden Benedict, her son. This is Edward, Bella, Emmett and Alice Cullen. Rosalie and Jasper Hale and Jacob Black."

"Nice to meet you all." I say, shyly waving.

"You as well.If it's okay with you Ms. Darling, we'll take our leave now." Edward tells her.

"Sure. Now remember tonight at 8pm. Don't be late. I'll make my famous Apple Pie for you guys as well." She says walking them to the door. While I just stood there watching them leave.

What am I going to do with her. Once her mind is made up about something, she sticks to it.

"Hey Jewels can I get two donuts please?" Henry asks her coming out the back. Jewel hands him the two donuts and He goes over and sits at the sofa, resting down Aiden's baby monitor, his nintendo and donuts.

I watch as Ms. D continues talking to the Cullens outside, walking over to sit on the chair in front him.

"Why is Ms. D inviting them over to the house?"

"Great question Henry. It's because I'm going to set your sister up with their father." She confidently says walking back in.

"What? They just got here Ms. D. No disrespect, but slow down."

"Henry!" She exclaims. Jewel remained quiet, not saying anything.

"Not happening Ms.D. The last time she gave someone a chance, He made her fall for him and then broke her heart. It's not happening again. And we don't even know them like that." He tells her.

"Henry you trust me right?" She asks looking him dead in his eye. He hesitates for a second before saying yes.

"Then you know I would never do anything to hurt Gwen. I know everything that happened and I'm telling you, this time it'll be different." She reassures him. He stares at her for a few seconds, thinking.

Even though Henry and I may not be related by blood, the bond between us is very strong. I don't care what anyone says, blood alone does not classify someone as family.

"Fine." He says taking out his nintendo and playing. Ms. D does a little happy dance, heading to her office.

What am I going to do with her.

I think shaking my head. Jewel excuses herself to the back, giving us some space to talk.

"I won't let anyone hurt me like that again Henry."

"I'm not against you dating Gwen. I'm against foolish idiots, who want to play with your heart. That's what I'm against. You deserve someone who will love you and Aiden-"

"And you. He has to love and care for you too Henry." He smiles.

"If you don't trust him enough to know everything about you, then he shouldn't know anything about you at all. I'm not telling you what to do Gwen, but if you do decide to give him a chance, be careful. And if he hurts you, I'm not stopping you this time from lighting up his house." He jokes, making me laugh.

You know when you get to that point where sadness is replaced with deep, heartwrenching, anger for your ex? Yep, I had gotten to that stage. Your girl got dressed in her sweats and was ready to go light his place up with some lightening. Sensibly, Henry managed to calm me down before I could do any more damage. Bakewell had already gotten two weeks of triennial rains because of my broken heart.

"Since when did you know so much about relationships?"

He looks up from his game,
"I'm young, not stupid." I roll my eyes.
