Gwen's POV
Tuesday 3rd July 2007
"Hello this is Gwen." I answer my phone.
"Hi Ms. Benedict, this is Principal George. I do apologise for the inconvenience, but I'm going to have to ask you to come into school. There was an altercation with Henry."
"Henry got into a fight?" My eyes widen in disbelief. My boss, Ms. D turns to look at me, shock written all over her face as well.
"Yes Ma'am there was an altercation between him and another student."
"Oh..okay. umm I'm coming." After bidding goodbyes,I hang up the phone.
"Henry got into a fight?" Ms.D asks coming to me.
"It seems so. But, Henry normally keeps to himself or is with his friends" Jewel says and I agree. I go to the back, grabbing my stuff and heading for the front door.
"You think you guys will be good here by yourselves until I come back?" I pause looking to the two women.
"Don't let this age fool you honey. I may be 54 but I'll use these sweet hands to fight somebody." Ms. D says, putting her fists up. Jewel shakes her head laughing.
"I hear you Ms.D. I'll be back guys." I head out, walking over to my car.
Gwen's Car

It wasn't a long drive to the school. Pulling up into the car park, I see some students hanging out by their cars.
"Aren't they suppose to be in class?"
I ask myself, parking my car and getting out. Making sure to lock it before I walk off.
They all stop what they were doing to look at me as I passed. Honestly I'm grown accustomed to it now.
Even after almost 3 years of living here, people still stared at us as if we were the most interesting thing to see. I remember the first time we moved here, we were basically the hot topic.
The only person who was actually really kind when to us from the first day of meeting her, was our neighbor Ms. D. She showed up at our doorstep with her famous apple pie, welcoming us to Jashville. Of course I was sceptical at first of her, but she turned out to be a gem.
Ignoring their stares, I head inside the building, walking down the way to the principal's office. The secretary leads me to the door. Knocking, we hear a faint com in and I enter.
All attention turns to me. Henry sitting on one of the chairs in front Principal's George's desk, and another boy in the chair next to him. His mother standing beside him, glaring at me.
Principal George walks over to me, greeting me with a polite hand shake.
"Ms. Benedict thank you for coming." I nod going over to Henry.
"We normally don't have any problems with Henry, so I'm sure we were all surprised by this. I'm sorry if we had disturbed you."
"That's alright. You okay?" He goes to answer but was cut off by the other woman.
"Just because you're young, it is not an excuse for you to be incompetent. You should at least teach that boy how to have proper manners." She says, talking down to me like I'm some child.
She's not talking to me right?
I look down to Henry, when I feel him touch my hand that was on his shoulder, a sign I knew all too well from him as to tell me stay calm.
I never seemed to understand why some adults think all young people are mannerless and have no respect. Especially when most of those times they themselves are the ones that are the most disrespectful.
"Mrs. Richards-" Principal George started.
"My brother knows very well Mrs. Richards, that he should not start fights. Further more...just because I'm younger than you, doesn't mean I don't know what is right from wrong." I calmly tell her. Her jaw drops slightly, and I felt completely satisfied by her reaction.
"Listen here little gir-"
"Mrs. Richards...please." Principal George interjects. She glares at him, folding her arms scoffing, but all in all remained silent.
"Now Ms. Benedict if I may explain. Henry was in the hall by his locker with two of his classmates, when Wilson approached him. Fair share of words were passed between both boys, which resulted in them fighting."
"Fair share of words?" I glance down to Henry who stared at Principal George unfazed.
"Yes." The man replies.
"And just what were those fair words they shared if I may ask." Principal George glances at Mrs. Richards, and she sends him a look.
Seriously?
"Well...umm..you see.." He tries find the right words, but I already knew what happened.
"Fair share of words...right." Then people wonder why some spoilt children act the way they do.
"That boy had no right hitting my son." She speaks again.
"Micheal you better handle this or I'm going to stop my generous giving to this school." She says huffing like a spoiled child herself.
I mean... I have money too but you don't see me throwing it in people faces to get my way.
"That boy has a name. And further more your child needs to learn to stop troubling other people's children! He literally thinks he runs this school and can get away with anything, because he knows that mommy is going to bail him out everytime." I tell her, I glance down at the fool and he has the audacity to smirk at me.
"And you! What kind of a principal are you! I get that she is a "generous giver" to the school, but you're suppose to do the right thing! This boy gets complained on by almost every student in this school and every time, every time, the situation is dusted underneath the carpet because mommy and daddy throws a few 100 dollar bills in your face!" At this point I'm fuming. How dare they!
"You gotta calm down Gwen." I hear Henry whisper. I look down at him. J close my eyes, taking a deep breathe.
Calm down, before you start something Gwen.
Henry and Ms. D are the only ones who know of what I am.
I was born with the power to control the elements and the weather, which I didn't know I could, until I turned 16 in 1974. Yes...I know.
One of popular girls in my school at that time, was very jealous of how her boyfriend and I being biology partners, and started troubling me.
Flashback
"Heather please. I told you already,I do not want to date David." I tell her, trying to walk pass her again. I just want to go meet my mom at the usual spot in the car par before something bad happens.
For the past few days I haven't been feeling well and I didn't know why. I haven't told mom, because I thought it was just that time of month soon.
I keep getting irritated from the slightest things, and every time I get angry, even in the littlest, this weird thing happens with the atmosphere. It would start getting cold and I would feel this strange source of power?
"Oh guys look she's talking back today. I wonder if mommy is as bad mouthed like you." She mocks and her friends all laugh.
I swear I could set her a fire. I thought and I actually felt my hands heat up, causing to look down at them.
"Ehem!" I look up to her.
"Oh wow. I'm so afraid." she walks up to me.
"What you gonna do huh?" She says pushing me.
I fold my fists, my hands beginning to sizzle.
"Look at her acting all tough-" I push her back harder than she did me, and she falls unto the ground. Her friends run to her, trying to help her up.
I look at her in shock. That thing with the atmosphere happening again. Deciding it's best for me to go now before whatever was building up releases itself, I quickly walk pass them.
I need to get to mo-
A sudden pull on my bag cuts off my thoughts and I jerk back, falling to the ground. Just as they start kicking me. I shield my face with my hands, curling up on the ground.
"What are you gonna do now huh Darla?" She taunts. My hands suddenly begin to flicker.
What is this?
"Heather, stop it! Let's just go. The sky's not looking to good." I hear David shout at her. Just as thunder booms loudly.
My body was beginning to tremble really badly. My hands tightly fisted.
"Why are you defending her David!? Do you like her or something!?"
"Stop acting so jealous Heather. It's really not attractive."
"Are you really choosing this nobody over me?!" I feel myself begin to panic, and it only made everything worse. I quickly try getting up, but she kicks me back down.
I land on my hands and knees, and I feel my eyes begin to glow.
The loud clash of lightening striking down, the loud roar of thunder that followed, causing the earth beneath me beginning to shake.
I slowly get back up, the screams of my fellow students as the wind began to pick up. Turning around to face the group, they all look at me in horror. Some of the girls dropping to their feet begging me not to hurt them. Heather and David stood frozen in spot, her hands clinging tightly unto his arm.
"Didn't I say to leave me alone?" My tone of voice was chillingly cold. Even I was surprised by how deep it sounded. I could feel a strong urge of power coursing through my entire body. Like every element of nature was waiting for me to give them their instructions.
"Please don't." She begs and a sinister smile comes unto my face.
"DARLA!! GET IN THE CAR NOW!!" My head snaps in the direction of my mom's voice, and as if everything began to register, I quickly grab my bag off the ground, running over to the car.
I was shaking so badly, the rain now pouring heavily around us.
"What's going on with me Mom?" I ask her, sobbing.
"What is this mark?" There was an odd tattoo like mark on my right inner wrist.
[A/N; Idea of the mark. Without the words though. Just did that to explain which is which element. The lightning represents the weather. ]

She glances at my wrist surprised.
"What is happening Mom?"
"I'll explain everything to you when we get home okay honey. Nothing's wrong with you. Just calm down for me ok." She says quickly driving out the car park.
End of Flashback
When we got home, mom explained everything to me. Of who I was and the power that I held. To say I was surprised would be an understatement.
"Ms. Benedict I do assure you-" He started saying but was cut off by the door opening.
"Sorry for being late." A man said walking into the room.
"D-Daniel? What are you doing here?" Mrs. Richards ask the man, surprised. Wilson stands up from the chair, looking scared out his mind.
"My secretary got a call from the school saying that Wilson got into a fight...again." He looks to her.
"Now what happened?"
"Mr. Richards, I am so sorry for the disturbance-"
"Cut out the bootlick Principal George, what did Wilson do?" He asks sternly. Principal George seemed not to know what to say, and kept looking at Mrs. Richards.
Henry stands up and everyone looks to him, as he starts to speak. Wilson and his mother glaring.
"I was standing at my locker sir, talking with my classmates about our project, when Wilson came up to us and started messing around. I told him to leave us alone but he didn't listen." I glance at Mr. Richards who seemed pleased by Henry's boldness.
"He pushed me into my locker and started talking bad about my sister, so I punched him." He concludes not shifting eye contact with Mr. Richards.
Where did all that confidence come from?
The room remained silent for a few seconds, as we all waited for Mr. Richards' response.
The Richards are not the main family, but they are one of the richest families in Jashville. And as far as I've heard, Mr. Richard is a workaholic, and his wife is the one that always handles things like this.
So seeing him here today is a big surprise.
"You punched him?" He finally replies. I think I saw a slight look of amusement cross his face.
"Yes sir." He nods.
"Hmm...and what's his punishment?" He asks, directing his attention to Principal George now. I don't miss the smug looks on both Wilson and his mother, and I almost wanted to forget everything and let the ground swallow them up.
"Henry will be suspen-"
"Not Henry. What's Wilson's punishment?" Said smug faces were now dropped jaws and I couldn't help but feel good.
"Well sir-."
"If I heard correctly, Principal George, Wilson was the one that started this entire fiasco, and many others, I've come to know about." He looks over to the two.
"Daniel it's really not-"
"Diana, just because I'm always working, doesn't mean I'm not aware of what's going on. I've heard about every complaint that has been made about Wilson these past few months, and how you've been paying these people off so that he could continue playing on the football team." He says casting a stern look to Principal George, causing the man to lower his head.
"I don't care how good of a player he is, if he has such a horrible sense of character, he'll never make it far." He tells her.
"Write up a 2 week suspensi-." He begins to instruct Principal George.
"Dad! I have an important game coming up next week!! We're three games away from finals!!" He tries to defend himself.
"Well..you should of thought of that before. Two weeks suspension, starting today, and when he comes back out, he'll be benched for 3 games."
"Mom!! You can't let him do this!!" He angrily shouts at his mother.
"Watch your tone boy. You've been getting to much leverage from your mother." He scolds him.
"I didn't intervine because I thought you could've handle it Diana, but it seems I will have to start dealing him myself. Also, until you can get those things you call grades up, you won't be getting anymore money from either of us. Give me your wallet."
"What-But Dad! What about school? What if I have to buy something?! Clothes...food!? Gas!"
"Garvin will start dropping you to school when you start back. You have more than enough clothes in that oversized walk in closet of yours, and Ms. Claira cooks delicious food everyday for us and makes sure that the kitchen is fully stocked up. What else seems to worry you?" He asks him. He looks to his mom for help, but she says nothing.
Looking back to his father realising that there is no way out of this, he sits back down in the chair defected.
"Wallet." His father says and he roughly pulls it out his pocket, slamming it into his father's hand. His mother gasps and I watch him shock.
"Happy?" He asks with an attitude.
"Watch yourself boy. I could of cut all ties with you until I found you were worthy to get a penny of my damn money, have you removed from the team and shipped you off to boarding school. Be grateful all I asked for was your wallet." The macho man act he had immediately left him and he turned around.
He's been so accustom to getting his way from his mother, that now when his father steps in, there's literally no room for argument. No wonder his mother didn't want his father to find out.
"I apologize to you both, for my wife and son's behaviour." Henry and I not knowing what to say, just nod to the man. Honestly I didn't expect things to end like this. He showed up out of nowhere.
"Come you two let's go." He orders, opening the door. They both walk out with their heads loward. Nodding at us again, he turns to leave, only to pause directing his gaze to Principal George.
"Oh and Principal George..."
"Y-yes sir?"
"Anything to do with Wilson from now on, contact me."
"Y-y-yes sir." He rolls his eyes, walking out the door, closing it behind him.
Turning our attention to Principal George.
"Well umm. Henry, I hope we'll continue with the good behaviour as always." It took everything in me not to roll my eyes.
"I still do not condone fighting. So I'll give you only 3 days lunch detention."
Just wow really.
"If it's okay with you Principal George, I'll like to take Henry for the rest of the day. He'll resume school tomorrow, and start his detention then."
"Oh of course. I'll write up his pass." He says, rushing to write up the slip.
After getting his pass we headed over to his locker to get his things, and then proceeded to leave the compound. Arriving back at the bakery Ms. D and Jewel rushed over us, checking Henry over to make sure he is okay.
"Did you end it?" Ms. D asks him and I shake my head.
"Guys don't encourage it." I tel them, resting my things down on the counter.
"Oh hush Gwen. Tell us everything Henry." Jewel says and they pull him over to the table, paying me no mind.
