It's one of the most emotional chapter I have ever written..

Let me know if you like it or not..
____________
Randhir sighed deeply and pushed the door of the ICU open..
"Hey baby..!! How are you feeling..??" he chipped faking a big smile and went to Sanyukta's weak lying figure.. Only he knew how hard it was for him to smile seeing his the love of his life in such condition.. She was surrounded by various machines and a canula was attached in her delicate skin and her forehead was bandaged..
"Randhir.." she murmured in a low weak voice..
"Yes baby.. Say nah.." he carefully held her palm taking enough care not to hurt her..
"I ruined the surprise.. It was a big surprise.. Bohot khush ho jate tum.. Aur abhi tum kitna paresan ho rahe ho mere wajase.." she tried to pout but her weak body didn't even let her do that properly and Randhir died a little more seeing her like that.. Still he manage to chuckle and said softly.. "I am happy, Sanyukta.. I'm happy that you're awake now and talking to me.."
"Lair..!! I can see how worried you are for me.. Chahe jitna bhi muskura lo tum, par mujhse apni real feelings nehi hide kar sakte..
Toh ab jaldi se bolo doctor ne kya kaha?? Is it serious??" she almost whispered..
"You're just fine, baby.. Doctor said you're fine.. Tum bas thode dino me ek dam pehli jaisi ho jayogi.. Aur fir you'll accompany me to my Mumbai book launch.." he lied and kissed her palm..
"Par.." she tried to say something but he stopped her..
"Shh..!! Doctor said jitna kam bologi utni jaldi theek hogi.. Sara energy agar baat karne me waste kar diya toh body ko heal karne ke liye energy kahan se milegi.. So, ek dam chup rahogi tum abhi.." he softly asked her not to talk just to avoid any further questions regarding her injury, cause he really didn't has any idea what to tell her and he had a fear that Sanyukta might catch him lying to her..
"Kal tum mujhe surprise dene wali thi nah.. Toh aaj main tumhe ek pyaara sa surprise dete hu.. Bohot khush ho jayogi tum.." he repeated her words and told her about a surprise to keep her occupied..
"What surprise..??" she asked cluelessly..
"Wait a minute.. I'll be back with your surprise.." he lightly touched his lips on her bandaged forehead and walked out of the ICU..
Sanyukta couldn't fathom anything about the surprise.. So, she just kept looking at the door and impatiently waited for Randhir to come back with or without the surprise, cause at that point all she could think was about Randhir..
"Your surprise is here.." Randhir sneaked in the ICU and muttered slowly..
"Mom.. Dad.." he called and stood aside so Renuka and Harsh could enter.. Sanyukta's tired eyes twinkled and her dry lips curved upwards..
"Last night you were taking me home, right.. See I went home and now everything is fine between mom dad and me.." he told her as the trio approached her..
"Kaisi hain meri becchi..??" Renuka asked her with moist eyes..
"Bohot khush, mumma.." Sanyukta smiled and a few drops of lachrymal fluid rolled down from the corner of eyes eyes..
"But hum bilkul bhi khush nehi hain.. Yeh kya halat bana rakhi hain aapne, beta..
Jaldi se theek hoke ghar aa jayo aap, fir hum bhi khush ho jayenge.." this time Harsh spoke putting his palm very gently on her wounded forehead..
"Ghar hi toh aa rahi main kal, pata nehi hospital kaise pohoch gayi.. But I'm happy that at least Randhir made it there.." she gazed at Randhir lovingly..
"Waise ghar leke jana main surprise nehi tha.. Woh toh kuch aur hi tha aur meko hi dena tha woh surprise.. Khair chodo, everything's fine and sorted among you all and that's what matters the most..
"Ek aur surprise..?? Kya surprise??" Randhir asked cluelessly making Sanyukta frown feebly..
"We didn't tell him anything.. Tumhara kam tha nah bolna isse.. Toh tum hi bolo.. Hum bhala tumhara kam kyun kare.." Renuka muttered..
"Mom.. Sanyukta.. What's going on..??" he couldn't figure out what they were talking about..
"Mumma papa approved your career choice, Randhir.. They don't have any problem with your writing.." Sanyukta smiled at him..
"Wh-what?? Seriously..??" he was flabbergasted by this new information..
"Dad.." he looked at his father for the confirmation..
"Haan, beta.. Humhe koi problem nehi hain tumhare writer banne se.. Bohot badi galti kar di thi hum ne tumhare dream aur talent ko nah samajhke.." he spoke with guilt..
"It's okay, dad.. Aap itna sab mat socho.. Aur agar main ghar nehi chodta toh mujhe meri Sanyukta bhi toh nehi milti nah.. So, jo bhi huya acche ke liye huya.." Randhir stated calmly..
"Chalo accha hain, sab kuch theek ho gaya.. I always wanted to see this family reunion.. Now I have no regrets.. Meri puri family mere saath hain and most importantly mujhe ab iss baat ki chinta nehi rahegi ki main nehi rahungi toh Randhir akela ho jayega.." Sanyukta chipped with a little difficulty..
"Nehi rahogi ka kya matlub.. Kuch bhi bakwas mat karo, Sanyukta.. Tum kahin nehi jaa rahi ho mujhe chodke, samjhi.." Randhir scold her.. His tearful orbs were showing the fear of loosing her..
"Randhir sahi bol raha.. You promised me ke tum kabhi nehi chodogi Randhir ko.. Aur mujhe pata hain, meri beti apne mumma se kiya wadaa nehi todegi.." Renuka sobbed..
"I just got my family, mamma.. Mujhe bhi kahin nehi jana aap sab ko chodke.. Par kuch cheezen humare haat me nehi hoti nah..
Randhir told me I'm fine, but I know he was lying.. I-I can feel it.. My head hurts.. Aisa lag raha hain ke hundreds of elephants are squeezing my head.. I'm not sure if I can make it.. And if it's my final few minutes with my family, then I want to assure that they are together and happy and they'll always look out for each other.." she mouthed breathing heavily..
Everyone got panicked seeing her like that..
"Sanyukta..!!" he called out..
"Da-dad, get the doctor.." he said pressing the electronic hospital bell to call the nurse..
"Haan.. Renuka chalo.." Harsh took Renuka with him because she was sobbing bitterly and he didn't wanted Randhir to get worried for his mom when he was already dying seeing Sanyukta like that..
Two nurses immediately came and one put an oxygen mask on Sanyukta's mouth and the other started checking the machines which were attached to her..
"She's deteriorating.." the nurse who was checking the machine informed the other one..
"Stay with her.. I'm getting sir (Sanyukta's doctor).." and she left..
All this while Randhir was just rooted at his place.. His system stopped processing anything.. He was scared and felt extremely helpless watching his love gasping for air..
He wanted to take away all her pain and sufferings.. But he couldn't.. All he could do was to watch her dying a little with every passing moment and cry.. He loathed himself for being so helpless..
"Get her ready of the operation.. We are taking her in now.." Randhir heard the doctor's voice.. He was so engrossed in his fear, shock and pain that he failed to noticed when the doctors came along with his parents and started examine Sanyukta who's condition seemed a little better than before.. At least she wasn't struggling to breathe..
"What are you doing..?? Don't remove your oxygen mask.." all heard the nurse speaking..
"I need to talk to him before the surgery.. Please give us five minutes.." she requested the doctor..
"But.." she didn't let him finish..
"I'm feeling better now.. Please.." she pleaded again..
"Sanyukta no, don't be stubborn, we'll talk after your operation.." Randhir declared..
"Tum samajh nehi rahe ho.. It's important.. Mumma, papa, please bolo nah Randhir ko ke merese baat karle ek bar.." she let out a sob..
"Okay fine.. Sanyukta, don't pressurize yourself, please stay calm and relax.. You can talk to Randhir, but only for five minutes.." the doctor stated strictly and left the ICU with Mr. & Mrs. Shekhawat and the two nurses..
"Tum bohot ziddi ho, Sanyukta.." he settled himself on the stool beside her bed and took her hand in his..
"I know.." Sanyukta chipped in a small voice and put her all strength to hold his hand even tighter..
"Okay, ab bolo kya baat karni thi tumko.." he asked her to continue..
"I want you to promise me something, Randhir.. If I don't come back, then you'll cry for me, you'll mourn me but you'll say goodbye to me.. You'll always remember me as a happy chapter of your life but you'll never hold onto that chapter.. You'll move on and live your life happily.. You'll fall for a nice girl and will get married to her and you'll have a lot of babies.. And most importantly, you'll work hard and one day you'll achieve best author's award..
A-and you'll not leave mumma papa.. They are growing old, they need you.. You'll always take care of them..
Aur kabhi meri yaad aaye toh rona nehi, okay, cause I'll be happy and I'll be with my parents.." Sanyukta almost whispered calmly and softly amidst her tear, gulping the unbearable pain..
"No.. I'm not promising you anything.. You'll come back, I know.." he sobbed..
"Randhir, please.. I'll never find peace if you are not happy.. And stop crying.. Meko tumhara aisa roltu sakal dekhke nehi jana..
Maybe this is my last my wish, baby.. Tum pura nehi karoge tumhare Sanyu ki last wish..??" she slightly pouted..
"You are crazy, Sanyukta.." he let out a painful chuckle and shook his head..
"Accha theek hain.. I promise.. I'll do whatever you asked me to do.. But I have a condition.." he muttered wiping his tears away..
"Kya condition..??" she asked feebly..
"Even I want a promise from you.." he said and grasped her hand again..
"A promise..??" she seemed confused..
"Yes, a promise.. I want you to do something for me, for us.. And you'll promise me you'll do it.." his grip on her hand got a little tighter..
"But baby I don't know if I have enough time to fulfill you wis.." she was stopped in middle by Randhir..
"You have baby.. You'll get plenty of time to fulfill my wish.." he smiled in assurance..
"Okay.. Tell me what you want from me.." she smiled sweetly..
"I want you to fight your ass off in the operation theatre and defeat death.. You'll come back all fit and fine and then we'll go home..
You're hell of a stubborn girl, Sanyukta and a survivor.. So, you'll maintain your stubborn nature and you'll show your fate that you are a true survivor..
Promise me, you'll do this for me.." he spoke with so much of faith and confidence in his glittery eyes..
"You and your tricks, Randhir.." Sanyukta shook her head..
"Mr. Shekhawat, you need to leave now.." a nurse interrupted their moment..
"Yeah..!! One minute.." he pleaded her throw eyes..
"Sanyukta.. Jaldi.. Promise me you'll fight for your life.." he chipped hurriedly..
"I will, Randhir.. I promise.." she nodded slightly and smile..
"I love you so much, Sanyukta.." Randhir smiled at her and placed a soft kiss on her dry lips..
"I love you too, Randhir.." she too smile and watched Randhir walking away from ICU..
