"I can't stay with you all.." Sanyukta lifted her wet lashes and muttered in a small voice..
"What..?? Why??" Renuka was clueless..
"Because I-I had a bad past.. And I'm an orphan.. It might hamper you reputation if media and all these people dig out about my life.." her voice had so much of pain..
"What?? Are you crazy, Sanyukta?? You're taking the decision of your and Randhir's life on basis of some ifs?? And from when you start caring about people and their baseless talks??" she kinda scold her..
"Randhir never came to me with his high profile family status.. He's just Randhir for me.. Shekhawat comes with it's own baggage, and you can understand that.." Sanyukta gulped..
"Shekhawat or not, Randhir is yours, Sanyukta.. And I know he can't live without you, neither can you.. I saw how much love you two have for each other.. I was there at Vidhushi and Arjun's reception.. You can't imagine how relieved I was knowing you were there to take care of Randhir.. You're just perfect for him, Sanyukta.." Renuka tried to make her understand..
"I do love Randhir and I always will.. But you don't know about my past.. You probably won't accept me as your daughter in law when you'll know about my past life..
I was an alcoholic and before that I almost lost my dignity.." she sighed painfully..
"And even before that you were an extremely bright and talented student and most importantly, you are the daughter of Agarwals.." Renuka gripped her palm tighter and looked at her with a proud smile..
Sanyukta didn't know what to say or how to react to her warm gesture.. And before she could fine any suitable words, Ranuka continued..
"Beta, see I don't know what made you addicted to alcohol, but I'm sure Randhir knows everything about your life.." Sanyukta just nodded slightly at her words..
"If Randhir is okay with everything good and bad of your life then, no one, I repeat no one has any right of questioning you about anything.. Not even us and obviously not the society..
And about loosing your dignity, Sanyu, beta you are hell of a strong woman.." she got up from her chair and hugged Sanyukta..
Sanyukta too wrapped her arms around her waist and sobbed for a minute..
"I can never imagine the pain and helplessness you had faced at that time.. No woman deserves this..
You know I'm so proud of you.. You overcome such a huge battle and now you're sitting in front of me and being so honest about it..
I'm sure even your mom must be very, very proud of you now.. Her little angel has become such a strong, fierce and lovely woman.. It's easy to make mistakes, beta.. But accepting where you went wrong is difficult.. But you did.. I know you were an alcoholic and I also know that alcohol doesn't have any control over you now.. It's just in your past.." Renuka murmur sweetly not loosening her hold around Sanyukta's frame..
Once she was sure that Sanyukta wasn't sobbing anymore, she left her after kissing her crown and then got back to her seat..
"Our past doesn't define us.. So, let your past be in your past and think about your bright future with your new family.." she smiled at her amidst her own teary eyes and wiped Sanyukta's wet cheeks..
"And I don't want to see any tears in my daughter's eyes from now on.." she added strictly..

"I wasn't crying thinking about my past.. Aapke bete ne meri life itni sari khushiyon se bhar diya hain.. He made me this strong and improved version of myself.. I don't cry over my past anymore.." Sanyukta said with a smile..
"Fir abhi kyun ro rahi thi..??" she frowned..
"Nothing.. It's just I haven't felt this motherly warmth since decades now.. So, jab aap ne hug kiya toh mumma ki yaad aa gayi.." she smiled wiping the newly fallen tear drops..
"Beta, main Anju ki jagah toh nehi le sakti kabhi.. But I'll try to be a good mother to you.. Aur pata hain tumhe nah Randhir se zyada pyaar milega, kyunki Harsh aur mujhe humesa se ek beti chahiye thi.. But due to some medical complication we couldn't have our second child.. Par ab tum aayogi nah, toh humari yeh muraad bhi puri ho jayegi.." Renuka seemed happy and excited..
Sanyukta giggled hearing her.. She too felt the excitement building in her system..
"Ab toh mujhe aap sab ke saath rehne se koi nehi rok sakta.. Itne saalon ke baad mujhe mom dad mil rahe hain, main toh yeh opportunity bilkul bhi nehi chodne wali.." she smiled happily making Renuka smiled too..
Renuka opened her mouth to say something but closed it the next second as a beeping sound of Sanyukta's mobile caught her attention..
Because of the recent arrived notification she got a glimpse of the lock screen of her mobile which had one of SanDhir's selfies..
"Aap ka beta Bangalore pohoch gaya hain.. He said he just landed on the airport.." Sanyukta informed Renuka after reading the WhatsApp message which was sent by Randhir..
"Hmm.. Oh..!! Randhir pohoch gaya.. Chalo accha hain.." she seemed absentminded..
"Kuch soch rahi thi aap??" Sanyukta asked meekly..
"Kuch nehi bas, I just saw your and Randhir's selfie, aur mujhe tum dono ki first photograph ki yaad aa gayi..
You two were so tiny at that time.." Renuka muttered making Sanyukta shocked and confused beyond anything..

"What..??" Sanyukta asked with a frown and Renuka had a good laugh seeing her so clueless..
"Long story beta.. Let's order something.. Fir aram se batati hu sab tumhe.." and they ordered some snacks..
"Ab batayo hum dono jante the kya ek dusre ko pehle se..??" Sanyukta asked munching on her French fries..
"Actually your dad and Harsh were business rivals.. They had a healthy competition..
I always heard him praising your dad's business skills.. Harsh toh aaj bhi Agarwal jii ke business ethics ko yaad karte hain jab hi bhi aaj kal ke dirty business games dekhte hain.. Agarwal jii was such an honourable man..
You should be very proud of your father, beta.." Ranuka told her..
"Aap jante the mere parents ko..??" Sanyukta asked innocently..
"Bohot acche se toh nehi, haan par thoda bohot janti hu..
We invited your family on Randhir's third birthday.. It was a big celebration toh business world ke almost sare log aaye the.." she continued..
"Meri family matlab main bhi aayi thi..??" Sanyukta asked with wide glowing eyes..
"Haan, beta, aap bhi aayi thi.. Aur aap tab itni choti si thi.." she could see adoration in Renuka's eyes..
"Randhir ka third birthday matlab, I was one and half.. Haaw..!! main toh bohot choti thi.. Mujhe kuch yaad bhi nehi hain.." she pouted..
"Koi baat nehi, beta, main bata rahi hu nah kya kya huya uss din.." Renuka laughed seeing her cuteness..
"Okay.. Jaldi bolo.." Sanyukta was so impatient to know about her and Randhir's very first meeting..
"You know when Randhir saw you, he called me and told me 'mamma, mamma, dekho doll..'
Sacch me, Sanyukta, you were literally looking like tiny fairy doll.. I think Randhir ke liye nah love at first sight tha.. Woh toh teen (3) saal ke umar me hi pagal tha tumpe.." Renuka teased Sanyukta making her blush hard..
"Randhir cut his cake in hurry so that he could play with you.. Usne toh apne birthday party tak chod diya.. He requested your mom to take you to his room and showed you all his toy.. Pure time Randhir apne room me tumhare saath khel raha tha.." Sanyukta laughed hearing Randhir's baby antics..
"Aur, aur main kya kar rahi thi..??" she asked in excitement..
"Tum nah apni badi badi ankhon se bas Randhir ko dekhe jaa rahi thi.. Fir tum dono God knows kya khel rahe the.. But you two seemed very happy.. You were giggling non stop.. Aur Randhir bhi tumhe hasta dekh bohot khush ho jata tha..
Fir raat ko jab Agarwal jii aur Anju jii tumhe wapis ghar leke jaa rahe the, tab toh Randhir zid pe ad gaya ke nehi jani dena tumhe.. Aur Randhir ke saath pata nehi kyun tum bhi rone lag gayi.." Renuka shook her head..
"Fir kya huya..??" she asked in amusement..
"Fir they didn't take you home.. Uss raat tum sab humare ghar pe reh gayi.. Aur fir next morning tum dono ke uthne pehle Agarwal jii tumhe leke ghar chale gaye..
When Randhir woke up, he searched you in whole mansion but he couldn't find you and cried entire week.." Renuka chuckled..
"Aww.. Bechara.. I'm feeling bad for him.." Sanyukta genuinely felt bad for him..
"This kinda effect you had on Randhir even when you two were babies, Sanyukta.. Kabhi usse chodna mat.. Jee nehi payega woh tumhare bina.." Renuka chipped softly grabbing her hand..
"Kahi nehi jayungi main apke bete ko chodke.. I promise.." Sanyukta ensured her..
"Aur fir hum kab mile..??" she asked in curiosity..
"Beta, Randhir's grandma was diagnosed with cancer.. Toh unke treatment ke liye hum US shift ho gaye.. We stayed there for a few years.. Harsh bhi sara business US se hi sambhal te the.. Aur jab wapis aye toh pata chala tumhare mom dad ke bare me..
Toh tum dono fir kabhi nehi mile till two years ago.." she sighed..
"Oh..!! okay, Koi baat nehi, ab toh main aap logon ke saath hi rahungi..
And, Mrs. Shekhawat, thank you.. I never know all these things about myself.. It feels so good to hear all these.." Sanyukta mouthed happily..
"Even I'll feel very good if you stop addressing me as Mrs. Shekhawat and start calling mom.." Renuka faked anger..
Sanyukta giggled and rose from her chair.. "Okay, mumma.." she said and hugged Renuka..
Renuka too hugged her back happily.. It was such a joyous moment for her.. Finally everything was falling into the right places.. And this time she would not only get her son back but would get Sanyukta too as her daughter..

"Accha, Sanyu, tum Randhir ko kab aur kaise bologi humare bare me.." Renuka asked after some chitchat... Sanyukta could see the building anxiety and nervousness in her posture..
"Mumma.. Don't worry.. I'll handle everything.. You trust me right..??" Sanyukta muttered with confident to ensure Renuka..
"Of course, beta.. Issiliye toh I wanted to talk to you.. Mujhe pata tha tum meri baat zaroor samjhogi.." Renuka looked relaxed than before..
"Okay then, keep your faith on me.. I'll take your son home.. Aur fir aap sab ke samne I'll tell him that you have accepted his dream.. Bohot khush hoga woh.. And even you'll be able to see his reaction..
Wow..!! This plan's epic.. Main toh genius hu.." Sanyukta praised herself and clapped merrily..
"Haan bilkul.. Meri bacchi genius hain.." Renuka giggled and shook her head seeing Sanyukta's childishness..
"Aur nah main aap ko nehi bolungi ke kab ayenge hum.. Fir aap dono ko bhi surprise mil jayega.." she grinned..
"Accha thik hain, mat batana, par jaldi ana tum dono..
Aur jab tak Randhir nehi aa jata wapis tum humare saath ki reho.." said Renuka..
"Nehi mumma, I'll come to Shekhawat mansion with Randhir.. And I promise jaldi se aa jayenge hum dono ghar.." Sanyukta denied her politely and Renuka didn't force her much..
The two talked for another hour and then headed back to their respective houses happily..

"Sanyukta yeh kya bachapana hain, haan..?? It's almost twelve aur itni raat ko tumhe pata nehi kaise kaise masti sujh rahi hain.." Randhir mouthed in annoyance as he couldn't figure out what Sanyukta was upto..
"Oh!! Trust me, baby, you'll be the happiest when you'll get my surprise.." Sanyukta chipped concentrating on her driving..
"Okay, theek hain.. Par yeh blindfold toh khol do please.." he requested with a pout..
"I swear, I'll stop driving and kiss the shit outta you, if you pout again.." she mouthed strictly controlling the urge of kissing him..
"Well, I won't mind if you do that.." he smirked..
"Accha..!! Fir accident ho gaya toh mujhe mat bolna.." she chipped casually..
"Are nehi, nehi.. We'll kiss as much as you want later, for now just concentrate on road.." he mouthed immediately..
Sanyukta laughed seeing his scared face and even he too smiled hearing her laughter..
It had been only two days since she met Renuka and Randhir landed back in Mumbai this evening only..
And as he reached home Sanyukta told him, she had a surprise for him.. Both settled in their car which they had bought a few months ago and much to his annoyance Sanyukta blindfolded him..
Randhir being Randhir couldn't deny any of his lady love's wish and obeyed everything she said.. And then they started heading towards the Shekhawat Mansion without Randhir's knowledge..

"Hum pohoch gaye kya..??" Randhir asked excitedly as he felt her halting the car..
"Nehi.. Abhi nehi pohche..
Tum zara ruku yahan, main ek minute me aayi.." Sanyukta muttered hopping down from the car..
"What..?? Kahan jaa rahi ho tum..??" he asked removing his blindfold and found her already gone..
He looked outside the window and saw her crossing the road.. Sanyukta crossed the road carefully and approached a little boy who was selling rose.. It was almost mid night and seemed like none of his roses was sold till then.. Sanyukta bought them all and gave him some extra money...
Randhir's chest puffed up in pride seeing the scenario.. He smiled on his own when she ruffled the boy's messy hair making him giggle..
"Randhir.. These are for you.. I love you.." Sanyukta screamed waving the bundle of roses in the air standing across the road..
"I love you too.." Randhir too shout back sitting in the car and watched her coming to him..
Then suddenly he screamed with popped out eyes.. "Sanyuktaaaaa."
And before she could understand anything, she felt a sharp pain engulfing her and she started slipping into a never ending darkness..
