It'd been a week since SanDhir returned from Maldives and currently Randhir was off to Bangalore for his book launching program... They were happy but the entire time Sanyukta was kinda tensed thinking about the message she got from the unknow number.. Still she successfully managed to hide the message and the worry it gave her from Randhir.. Though she hate hiding things from him, still she did this time because neither she wanted to make Randhir worried nor to ruin the happy moments of their first trip..
Sanyukta sighed holding her head sitting in a lush café of Mumbai as the thought of hiding things from Randhir crossed her mind while waiting from the person who texted her...
The black coffee she ordered sometime ago was still untouched and had loosen it's warmth by then..
"I'm so sorry, Randhir.. I hate hiding things from you.. Ek bar wapis aa jayo tum Bangalore se.. Fir main tumhe sab sach sach bata dungi.." she talked in her mind looking at the display screen of her mobile which had one of their selfies from the trip..
She smiled seeing Randhir's smiley face and recall what exactly the message read...
Flashback starts..
She opened the message and some frown lines appeared on her forehead as soon as she read the message..
The message said -
"Please don't freak out reading this message.. We're no stranger to each other.. Well, technically we're strangers but still we know about each other.. We both have a common thing in our lives, we both love Randhir and want to see him happy..
I need to talk to you, Sanyukta.. It's important, it's about Randhir..
Please meet me when you'll be back in India.. I know you're in Maldives right now.. I've a lot of things to say to you and to know from you, it can't be done over a phone call and tbh I really want to meet you..
Please, Sanyukta, it's a request, please don't turn me down.. And don't tell anything to Randhir.. You'll understand why I'm asked you to keep it a secret when you'll meet me..
I assure you that I'm not a threat to you or to Randhir.. I know it's hard or perhaps impossible to believe me right now but trust me, I'm not here to harm any of you..
So, please meet me once when you'll be back in town.. And no words to Randhir..
For now enjoy you trip.. Be happy and keep him happy.."
Sanyukta wanted to reply back the person asking about his/her identity but before she could do so Randhir stepped out of the washroom and she postpone the idea..
Later that day she decided, she would not think about it during their stay in Maldives..
She tried her best to keep the thought of the new found stocker at bay but it just didn't happen.. So, she was determine to talk to the person and solve the mystery all at once after coming back to India..
After a few hours of landing at the Mumbai airport Sanyukta got another message from the same number..
This time the person mentioned a date, time and place for the meeting.. Sanyukta was kinda shocked seeing the date and time as it was the exact same date on which Randhir would leave for Bangalore and even the time was after his fight's take off time..
She mentally noted that the stocker was powerful, the person literally had every information of them.. She knew very well that the exact timing thing could never be a coincident..
So she took a deep breath and tried to prepare herself to face the person..
Flashback ends..
"Sanyukta.." Sanyukta was pulled out of her memory lane by a soft female voice...
She immediately opened her eyes which were closed till then and snapped her head up..
"Mrs. Shekhawat??" she furrowed her eyebrows..
"Okay.. I was definitely not excepting her.." she shook her head in mind and stood up..
"Are-are you.." she tried to asked her if she was the stocker or not..
"Well, I know it's creepy but I'm the only messaged you.." Mrs. Shekhawat muttered looking elsewhere..
She kinda looked embarrassed..
"But why you did that?? What was the need to stock us.." Sanyukta asked without thinking twice..
"Stocking you two..?! No, Sanyukta.. You're taking me wrong, I was just taking a track on my son.. Have a sit.. I can explain everything.." she was perplexed by Sanyukta's accusation..
"Your son..?! Oh! you mean whom you disowned two years ago.." Sanyukta chipped bitterly and sat back on her chair and Mrs. Shekhawat took the seat in front of her..
"Beta, I know, hum se bohot badi galti ho gayi.. But trust me hum kabhi bhi Randhir ka bura nehi chahte the.. Beta hain woh humara.. Aur koi maa bap kaise apne bacche ko dard de sakte hain.." Renuka muttered with glossy eyes..
Sanyukta could clearly see the guilt and regret in her eyes.. And it melted her..
"I know, I can understand aap logon ne jo bhi kiya, yeh sochke kiya ke Randhir wouldn't able to establish himself as a writer or get successful in this field.. Maybe your intentions weren't wrong but that doesn't make Randhir any less hurt.." she made her point..
"I saw him crying for you, I know how terribly he misses you, everyday, bolta nehi hain, par I can feel it..
Parents should understand their kids dream and let them try to fulfill their dream at least for once..
But you guys were so blind with status and the society that you never saw the potential writer in him..
He never cared about the society, Mrs. Shekhawat, he always wanted to hear your praise and get a proud pat on his back from his father.. But see the irony of his life.. Today the whole society is praising him and here he still yarns to see a glimpse of proud in your eyes.." she chuckled sarcastically..
"We know, what we did was wrong, Sanyukta.. And we're sorry for it.." Renuka wiped her tear before other people of the café could notice it..
"I didn't mean to hurt you, Mrs. Shekhawat.. I just stated what I felt in these two years..
Anyways tell me why you wanted to meet me.." Sanyukta felt bad seeing her in tears.. So, she changed the topic..
"Haan.. About that..!! Sanyukta, we want Randhir back.." Renuka chipped straight..
As soon as those words rolled off her tongue, Sanyukta felt a sharp pain in her chest.. For a second a blackness got spread in front of her eyes.. She actually never imagined her life without him after he walked into her life.. But she was pretty sure her life would be filled with darkness without him..
Sanyukta recovered from her momentary trauma pretty soon and exhaled deeply..
"He-he is your son.. He's always your.. There's nothing like wanting back.. Just call him once and he would go running to your arms.." she chipped gulping her own pain..
"I don't think so, beta.. We wronged him.. Gussa hoga bohot woh humse.. Aur sab se badi baat toh yeh hain ki, we don't have the courage to face him.. We're ashamed of ourselves.. We failed him.." she had tears in her eyes once again..
"What.. No..!! Don't think like that.." Sanyukta immediately gripped Renuka's hand which was resting on the table..
"Nehi, Sanyukta.. Kabhi maaf nehi karega Randhir humko.." her voice cracked..
"Randhir aap sab se gussa nehi hain.. He's just hurt.. Trust me.. Aur maafi mange wali baat bhi nehi hain koi.. Aap bas usse call karo aur ghar wapis bulalo..
And this time please don't force him to get into the family business.." Sanyukta smiled at her..
"Of course not, Sanyukta.. Hum ab kabhi bhi usse kissi cheez ke liye force nehi karenge.. His dad and I just wanted to see his successful.. And now He Is a successful writer.. And we're happy and proud for him.. You know, Sanyukta, Randhir ke ghar chodne ke baad humara ghar sirf Shekhawat Mansion banke reh gaya.. We have everything but peace and happiness..
Puri duniya ke samne bhale hi Harsh ek strict businessman dikhte hain, par mujhe pata hain ander se kitna toot chuke hain woh.. Entire life he worked so hard just to give Randhir a better life.. He faced a lot rejection and struggles.. And he never wanted our son to go through any of these things..
Randhir ko aise ek struggler ki life jeete huye dekhke unka bhi dil dukhta tha bohot.. He used to lock himself up in his study room to cry, so that, kissiko pata nah chale.. But I've spend my entire life with this man, I know him better.." Renuka let go all her bottled up emotions in front of Sanyukta..
"Aap tension mat lo.. Ek bar Randhir wapis chala jayega nah, fir Shekhawat Mansion fir se aapka hasta khelta ghar ban jayega.." she passed an assuring smile to Renuka..
"What do you mean by 'Randhir chala jayega'..?? Tum nehi aayogi Randhir ke saath..??" Renuka asked with a confused expression making Sanyukta confused as well..
"Main..?? Main kyun chalungi Randhir ke saath..??" she asked still trying to figure out why Renuka was asking her to come with Randhir..
"Cause you two love each other, toh dono saath hi rahoge nah.." Renuka stated straight..
"But, Mrs. Shekhawat.." this invitation came as a surprise for her and she was not quite sure how to react..
"What's the matter, Sanyukta.. Tum maaf nehi kar payi kya humhe..??" she asked holding her palm..
"Maafi?? Kis baat ki maafi..?? I'm no one to forgive you.. And most importantly there's nothing to forgive.." Sanyukta was still confused by her words..
"You know, beta, jab hum kissi se bohot pyaar karte hain nah, tab unhe koi takleef de toh humhe zyada takleef hoti hain.. Man toh karta hain ke sir hi phod de hum unka jisne humare loved one ko hurt kiya ho..
Toh tumhe bhi toh humse bohot sari shikayate hongi, kyun ki humne bhi toh tumhare Randhir ka dil dukhaya.." Renuka muttered with guilt..
Sanyukta slightly blushed hearing Randhir's mom addressing him as her Randhir and she looked down shyly..
"Mujhe aap sab se koi shikawat nehi hain.. I know you love him so much.. And now he's getting him family back.. I'm-I'm so happy for him.." she smiled brightly..
"His family is incomplete without you, Sanyukta..
Randhir can live without his dreams but he won't be able to live without you.. Toh tum nah bas aa rahi ho Randhir ke saath..
If you two want to get married then we'll arrange that according to your wish.. A simple wedding with family and close friends or a lavish full fat Panjabi wedding - jaisa tum dono ko chahiye sab kuch waisa hi hoga.. Aur agar abhi shaadi nehi bhi karni, toh bhi theek hain.. We're pretty open minded oldies by the way.." Renuka chipped excitedly..
Sanyukta felt shy and overwhelmed too.. She giggled covering her flushed face..
But then suddenly something clicked her mind and she got frozen at her place.. Renuka too noticed the change in her demeanor...
"Sanyukta, beta, what happen?? Are you fine..??" she asked worriedly..
"I can't stay with you.." Sanyukta lifted her wet lashes and muttered in a small voice..
"What..?? Why??" Renuka was clueless..
"Because....
