Chapter 2- Her

She was elegant. One of the prettiest girls that could be found. In her human form, she was the ONE. She had all the features a man would ever dream of. Every single guy, human obviously had approached her. But, all she could do was decline. She silently declined as she was a werewolf. No one knew of it. Every single guy wanted to be her first. Claim her virginity. She pushed it all aside and concentrated on her life.

No unmated wolf dared to approach another unmated she-wolf. They did, only if it was their mate. And of all, she was the Alpha's daughter. A high ranking wolf who was next in line to take over the the place of the Alpha.

She believed in love and commitment. A one-time true love. She was Radhika Mishra, the only beloved daughter of Dilip Mishra, the Alpha of Chandramaa pack. She was the calmest. But when she got angry, it was the end. It was amazing to see how her wolf always remained calm. It was always known that the wolves had higher possibilities to lose temper soon, with the wolf taking over and shifting and the human form had to calm them with a lot of coaxing. In her case, it was something very rare. She and her wolf complimented each other. The pack Elder called it auspicious. Her mate was a very lucky man.

She was a warrior-tracker. Best tracker of her pack. She and mother Mala were enough to tackle a whole pack. They were the best warriors. Well, that was before. Before her mother left them, breaking her father's heart. But he knew how to get himself up. He had to stay strong for his pack. She heard her father's broken howl once in a while at nights it hurt the pack and it surprised them all as to how strong he was and it inspired more to be like him.

They worshipped the Moon goddess and believed in destiny. Whatever happened, they took it for good.

There were a few witches that lived in their territory. It was boon and a bane. Anyone could misuse. The witches always used silver and silver was something that was fatal to werewolves. The use and power of the witches could be misused.

Radhika was a twenty one year old engineering student. She was friendly, kind, helpful and believed in humanity. She never boasted of her status to anyone. She was down to earth and the best of God's creation.

The only thing that lacked was she had no mate. She and her wolf wanted a mate so badly so that they could settle in life. To find her true love. She knew, three years had passed and still not a sign of him.

She knew that he was hiding somewhere and wanted to find him soon.

No, she wanted him to find her as soon as possible.

Little did she know what destiny had in for her.

She had all the qualities to be a female Alpha. But she didn't take it up. Her brother Ankush was the true heir, but he never got the chance. He was killed brutally as he fought with all he had, trying to save a she-wolf and her pup from a vicious rogue she-wolf. And all that happened just three days before the Alpha coronation ceremony. One thing she was glad about, that he had not found his mate at that time. She couldn't even try to picture the pain her brother's mate would have felt if he'd had one. Female wolves were not so strong when it came to emotions regarding their mate. It would kill them if they ever lost them. Rejections could hurt so bad and it can be fatal too. Separation from your mate is something no one ever wished for, even if it was their enemy.

If she took the position of an Alpha, she'd have to find someone strong from her own pack as her mate and settle down. She didn't have a problem with finding her mate in her own pack. She had her dream of finding her mate all by herself and giving herself to him.

She dreamt of him every night. She and her wolf loved him. All she could see in her dream was his well toned body, which was perfect. Tall and handsome. She could say that though she couldn't see him. The tan skinned body that glistened beautifully in the moonlight. Hair dishevelled, which swayed to the wind. It was a beautiful sight to watch. All she missed was his face. His face, not visible in the dark. She had sketched his form down on her canvas. She loved to paint. She caressed his portrait everyday. Spoke to him everyday.

"When will I meet you my mate? I can't wait any longer" she whispered as her fingers gently brushed the canvas.

She smiled as she felt tingles all the way through her body. If touching a canvas had such an effect, she couldn't imagine what it'd feel like when she had him. His arms wrapped around her, his lovely eyes gazing at her with love. Pure, true love.

There was a pause.

A long pause.

"I know you'll come for me one day. You will meet me the same way I meet you in my dreams. I want to see you as soon as possible. Love you. Bye. I got to go" she said in a hurry and walked out with her bag.

She had her breakfast and left for college. Her driver had to drop her everyday. This annoyed her. Her driver had to wait till her classes were over. She carried spare clothes with her. In case she wanted to shift. It was very rare that she shifted during college hours.

She was a topper. Wherever she went, she carried pure essence of happiness with her. Everyone loved her. For her simple nature and humbleness. Her best friend Dia, who too was a werewolf. They were more like sisters than friends. Dia was Arjun's cousin and Neil's little sister. Radhika knew Neil well. She had met Samaira recently. Samaira just couldn't get enough of Radhika.

Radhika didn't know that she was dreaming of Arjun. She everyday would talk of her dream mate to Dia.

"Dia, there's a progress" Radhika grinned.

"About what? The code fault in our project?" Dia asked.

"No, silly. No" she smiled.

"Then?" Dia asked "and Radhi, we have our presentation coming, at least if you tell me till where you have completed, I can carry on from there. I don't want it happening like last time" she sighed.

"You know that Krutika did it in purpose right?" Radhika asked to which Dia nodded "I have put her in her limits and she will not dare to mess with us again" she said and Dia just sighed.

"She is capable of anything. You know that she is a witch right? And she knows we are werewolves. She always has silver and wolfsbane with her. One move and we will die" Dia screamed like a crackpot.

"And you let her live in your territory! She has no gratitude! That bitch" she snapped and her eyes turned deep black from sea green.

"Dee, look. Look at me. Not now. We can't lose like this. Deep breaths baby, deep breaths. Come on. Come on. Slowly. Come on" Radhika coaxed her as she stroke her best friend's cheek.

Dia closer her eyes and moved her head from left to right. That was one way her wolf could be tamed. She breathed hard. Radhika was right. She couldn't lose it. She was a short tempered. She was a Gamma warrior. She could not be so irresponsible. It could put them all in risk. She opened her eyes all calm. Radhika smiled seeing her green eyes.

"She is a pure breed witch. She is powerful. Way powerful than.." she looked around "way powerful than Samrat uncle. He is half witch, were-witch. He may be older and have more knowledge and control, but he is not a pure breed. He is nothing in front of her, in front of a pure breed" she sighed.

"It will not happen. Nothing will happen. We are fine. We will be fine. I have something against her that has her put in her place. For the long run" Radhika smirked.

"If that's so, then I'm not saying anything" she sighed.

"Okay, now listen" Radhika smiled, tickling her best friend that made her laugh.

"Okay" she wheezed "tell me" she blew a breath.

"My dream. About my mate" Radhika grinned.

"Tell me" she smiled.

"Well, it's like I can see his chiseled jaw and his lips that have an amazing smile. Well you can call that a smirk. And I hate to admit, it looks so good on him" Radhika smiled.

"Well..." she looked on.

"I couldn't see his face. Like I can see parts, but not the whole, I don't want to paint his face bit by bit and screw it up. I'll just dream him faceless" Radhika sighed.

Diya knew that her best friend dreamt of her cousin as all the description she had given matched him. She just couldn't bring up the courage to tell her. She decided to talk to her brother. She knew that they'd make sure the best pair. The best Alpha and Luna to the Aghastyaa pack. But was scared as Arjun hated the talk of mate and Radhika hated Arjun even though she dreamt of him everyday. They'd met only once. It was cause of his rude nature and his on and off relationships.

And the worst of all... The Chandramaas and the Aghastyaas were the toughest of rivals.

The two best friends never hated each other though they were from the rival packs. They got along very well. It was like whenever they met, it was like they're meeting after decades or like long lost sisters, though they met everyday.

But the only thing that threw her off was, how did they not feel the mate bond?!

Either of them had to.

Werewolves find their mates even without knowing who they were or how they looked. It's their scent that lulls and lures you. How did they not know by their scents?

Was hatred so powerful?!

Did it overpower the power of love?!

Or did they know and are just ignoring the mate bond and putting their packs first and not themselves?!

"I need to talk to bhai" Dia said to herself.

She had to do something. Soon. With Radhika dreaming about her brother every night, her dreams taking her close to her destination, she knew this was going to go the good way or the bad way. She had to know if her brother felt something. At least an itty bitty, incy wincy bit.
