Jace groaned as Vanessa kept on talking. Truth was that he was agitated whenever they were together but alas they cousins.

"Ugh can you believe Harley, she is soo ugly and pathetic" Vanessa said scoffing.

Jace frowned as his anger grew.

"Mind your God damned business" he yelled walking away.

"Oh my gosh she is soo pretty, it I were lesbian I would totally tap, too bad she is in crutches" she whispered giggling.

He furrowed his eyebrows. Where they talking about Harley? No of course they weren't.

"Her body is just perfect too bad her brother said no one can have her" a guy Jace recognized as Hayes' friend, Lance was it? said

"Pervert" Jace whispered under his breath.

When he saw her the air was knocked right out of his lungs. She was breathtaking with her long brown curly locks and beautiful baby blue eyes.

He shook his head and remembered that he was mad at her. He walked right past her, not sparing her a single glance.

"Jace" she yelled making him stop in his tracks.

Did she just talk?

He looked at her from the corner of his eye and sighed.

The look of determination was evident on her face so if he walked away he was one hundred percent sure she would follow him and he didn't want to tire her out by making her follow him like a lost puppy.

"What?" He asked as coldly as he could as he turned to face her.

"I'm sorry" she whispered "I'm sorry for everything"

"For ignoring you"she said sadly "I'm sorry you were nice but I just shut you out"

"I'm sorry for ignoring you, I really am sorry"

He didn't say anything and an awkward silence consumed them.

"I don't expect you to forgive me but please give me a chance to make it up to you with ice-cream cause ice-cream is amazing"

She didn't mean to rant but she was nervous.

He still stood still.

"Please say something" she begged.

"Why are you talking" he blurted out.

"You don't want me to talk?" She asked shocked.

She was hoping he would be happy that she started talking.

"I do" he explained scratching the back of head "I'm just uh shocked"

"Well uh you changed my mind" she whispered, half hoping he wouldn't hear it.

She was about to walk away when he held her arm, pulling her to him.

"Ice-cream sounds amazing, love" he whispered huskily send shivers down her spine.

It wasn't just his English accent that hadn't even faltered a bit nor that damned nickname that got her everytime, it was him.

"Sure" she whispered giggling.

She cursed herself and how the nickname he gave her affected her in ways he would never know.

He let her go and pushed a curl behind her ear making her go beetroot.

"See you after school then"

And with that he walked away leaving her dazed.

Call him weak but just seeing her made him calmer and finding out he was the lucky bastard that made her talk made him even happier. He couldn't stay mad at her even for half a second.

Soon- not soon enough though- school was over and Harley was bubbling with excitement. She had a teeny tiny, who was she kidding she was in love with Jace the first day she saw him when he helped her up and didn't hate her for not being able to walk. She kept on glancing- full on staring actually- at him everytime she got a chance. She wasn't a stalker-yet- but she was always staring at him secretly. The way his hair moved, the way his lips moved- did she say she wasn't a stalker?- the way his Adam's apple bobbed up and down, the way he talked, he was utter perfection. A human could never be perfect but Jace nailed it and now she was having ice-cream with him- cue fan girl scream-. Change was looking amazing.

"Hey Hayes I'm having ice-cream with Jace bye Hayes" she said quickly walking past her brother.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait" Hayes said making her stop.

She groaned. Four 'wait'. That wasn't good.

"No you're not" he said bluntly.

"Oh come on you can come too with uh Lilac" she said smiling.

Lilac was a girl who had a crush on him bit he let her down gently- what a gentleman-. They grew really close as friends and it was certain that they both had crushes on each other bit they were scared, for different reasons though. Lilac was scared of rejection for the second time and Hayes was scared that she didn't like him anymore so they buried their feelings deep, deep down in their hearts.

"Cool but no funny business" he warned.

"Alright daddy" she mocked rolling her eyes.

"Oh you wish I was your daddy"

"No I don't, I love daddy soo much but you stink"she teased.

He laughed and wrapped his arms around her shoulder.

"I'm glad I have you back you know" he whispered kissing her cheek.

As if the earth hated her Jace entered thier view. As soon as he saw Hayes lips on her cheek his eyes widened and a look of hurt and betrayal flashed across his face.

"Jace this is Hayes, Hayes this is Jace" she explained "my twin brother"

A smile appeared on his face as soon as she was done explaining.

"Hayes"

"Jace"

They said at the same time and shook hands.

"Okay you text Lilac and I and Jace will be at Jace's car" Harley said happily.

"Kk" Hayes said taking his phone.

"C'mon" Jace said wrapping his arms around Harley.

Hayes trusted Jace the minute he saw him. Jace looked at his sister with soo much adoration and he knew that he would never hurt his sister and even if he did he would have to answer to him.

Jace led her to his car. It was a grey 2018 Toyota Tacoma

"This is your car? Cool" Harley giggled.

"Thanks I've had Jarley since I was sixteen" he smirked "she is just the best car I have used"

"J-Jarley?" Harper asked shocked, not caring to ask why most boys gave thier car girl names or why they registered them as females.

"Yup baby girl" he said helping her sit in "a combination of both mine sand your name"

He sat at the driver's seat and looked at her.

"Cool dude it's not creepy at all" she said sarcastically.

Jace laughed. He liked he new Harley. He didn't want her to change.... ever.
