Bonding

A laughter boomed through the place followed with sound of someone limping around.

What kind of Hyena-type laughter is that? Ah- it must be mamashree. Dharmini thought to herself, biting the inside of her cheeks to not burst out laughing.

"One woman's five-five husbands?" The same laughing voice spoke, his front, blackened teeth showing. He continued laughing making the Pandavs and their wives frown.

"Hastinapur and it's Dharm" Sakuni continued, a sinister grin on his face.

"Adharm!" A voice boomed making Dharmini flinch.

She had already kept the plate aside and was standing beside Draupadi. She held Draupadi's hands which were shaking, her breath coming in short gasps. She looked over at the owner of the voice, Bhishma. Her nervousness grew looking at the old man's angry face and tears threatened to spill out of her eyes.

"I thought, Yudhisthir, with your arrival, dharm will set it's foot on my Hastinapur. But you brothers brought about such a huge Adharm" The old man's gruff and loud voice resonated throughout the place, he walked away, anger and disappointment evident in his every move.

The Pandavs and their wives' turned around to face Maharaj. "Taatshree-", Yudhisthir was interrupted by the Maharaj storming off, followed by his wife doing the same.

After a while, the Pandavs, Draupadi and Dharmini were sitting in Yudhisthir's chamber.

"If Pitamah decides to banish us from Hastinapur and declares Duryodhan as the next crown prince, we'll have to follow his orders and leave" Yudhisthir spoke up looking at the others.

"But why, Prince?" Dharmini asked, taking a bite of the apple she was holding from the past five minutes.

"Because it's Pitamah's order, Dharmini" He replied, calmly looking at her.

"I mean why would he give such orders?" She continued, "He is just angry and maybe disappointed but he still loves you guys. You just need to ask him for a chance to explain yourselves. Giving up on everything isn't a solution right?" She finished, finally looking up at him.

"Bhabhishree is right, bhratashree. We need to fight for ourselves and for the rights we deserve" Bheem chimed in agreeing with her.

"And, bhratashree if we don't stand up for ourselves and put up a strong point, we would be proving his words. Draupadi would be considered a sinner" Arjun voiced his worries, looking back at Draupadi.

"What do you say in this, Draupadi?" Bheem asked, walking to Draupadi who was silently watching everything unfolding and listening to everyone.

"I think, about anything that would happen tomorrow in Rajsabhaa, the five of you must take a responsible step and solve it in your own ways" Draupadi spoke calmly, "And about Pitamah being disappointed in us, I think that is because of me. So, if you allow, Arya. I wish to talk to him alone" She finished, looking at all of them who smiled at her, silently agreeing with her.

Dharmini stood up straight and looked at her with wide eyes, "Drau? Seriously? Are you not scared of him?? His voice sent literal shivers down my spine earlier", She spoke, quite dramatically, making the four boys burst out in fits of laughter while Draupadi and Yudhisthir just smiled.

"Bhabhishree, wow. You lightened the whole mood", spoke Nakul grinning at her.

"Bhabhishree? Who?" She looked around, "Me?" She pointed at herself, looking at him in disbelief.

"Narayan! I feel old!!" She whined, dramatically sitting down, a hand on her head, "Can you just call me Dharmaa??" She asked, looking up at him with the most innocent expression she could muster up.

"But you are my Bhabhishree. I can't call you anything else. It will be considered a sin!" Nakul looked back at her with the same expression.

A frown came on her face but faded as soon as she saw the expression on his face, "Since you're so cute and don't look much older...hmm you can call me Bhabhishree. In fact the both of you can" She spoke, pointing at him and Sahadev, enthusiasm filled in her voice.

"What about us, Bhabhishree?" Bheem asked, pointing at himself and Arjun.

"You guys are old and look old too. Just call me Dharma" She said, looking at both of them with hope in her eyes. And they continued bantering about it being unjust for Arjun and Bheem.

Yudhisthir looked at her, his heart doing a flip inside his ribcage. Looking at her smiling so innocently and the enthusiasm in her voice reminds him how much of an innocent soul she has.

His little smile turned into a full blown grin when he saw her smiling and laughing with his brothers without a care in the world. He wondered about how life changed overnight.

Yudhisthir got snapped out of his thoughts when a pillow came and hit him directly at his face.

Colours in Dharmini's face drained, she looked at him with wide eyes, her jaw dropped. "I am so sorry! So sorry, Rajkumaar. This...this Nakul he moved out of the way!" She exclaimed pointing at the frowning male who stood beside his elder brother.

Yudhisthir looked at Nakul, making him shiver, "Bhratashree! No! Bhabhishree is lying. Her.. her aim is just not good!" He stomped towards Dharmini.

"Bhabhishree lying is a sin you know!" He exclaimed pointing at her and looking at her with a dramatically hurt expression.

"I am not lying!" She pouted, standing up on the bed and looking down at him, her hands placed on her sides.

"It's okay Dharmaa. I'm fine" Yudhisthir's calm voice made her look away from Nakul and at her husband.

"See! Your brother is so nice and you! You're a whole...whole damn drama queen!" Nakul gasped, looking up at her with wide hurtful eyes. She just returned the look with her signature grin, poking her tongue out, teasing him.

While he was busy pouting and complaining about the injustice, she grinned bending down and pulling on his cheeks.

"My cute devarji" She pulled his cheeks harder making him yelp in pain.

"Bhabhishreeeeeee it hurtsss" He whined, pulling away and rubbing his cheeks.

"Dharmini" Draupadi called, pulling her down to sit beside her, "Don't bother Arya like that" She spoke, seriously.

"Yes queen" She replied, resting her head on the older woman's shoulder.

"I'm tired Drau" She yawned, playing with the hem of her dress.

"Sleep my little bundle of energy" Draupadi smiled, pulling her down to rest her head on her lap and started caressing her head. Dharmini hugged her by her waist and closed her eyes.

"Draupadi, Are you sure about talking to Pitamah?" Yudhisthir asked, sitting beside her and looking at her to which she just smiled and nodded.

Yes, Dharmini might have lightened the mood earlier and made everyone forget about the bigger problem they would be facing the next day, but the problem was still there and worry, once again, crept up in their minds.

"Draupadi, make yourself and Dharmaa comfortable, I'd be sleeping somewhere else" Yudhisthir said, walking away, leaving a sleeping Dharmini and worried Draupadi alone with her thoughts. She sighed wondering about how her life turned so different in the blink of an eye.

Once again, with their hearts heavy with worry and guilt, guilt about the unusual and disrespectful welcome their wives had to face, the Pandavs retreated back to their own chambers preparing themselves for the upcoming day and probably uneventful Rajsabhaa.
