Part 1: In the Club (01/16)
In the Club
It was finally the weekend, which meant that I finally get a break from college. Usually , being the bum I am, I just stay at the apartment binge watching Law and Order :SVU and re runs of Lost. This week, however, I promised my friends that I would actually go clubbing with them, which is scheduled merging I never did before.
There are two reasons for this:
.
1) I'm only eighteen so I'm underage
2) Even if I was of age I don't like to party.
You could say I was your typical nerd. The only reason I even agreed to this was because I was owed my friend Janice a favor. I regret asking her to help me with my calculus class, which I was horrible at. The only reason I even try for that class is because of the fact that I need to keep my GPA as stabilize as possible; it's pretty hard to keep it at a 3.8 . The favor that I needed to return was to go to a club with her.
Sighing, I looked at the time ; 9:30 pm. She's going to pick me up in half an hour and I still don't even know what I am wearing. Looking through my sister's closet, I felt hopeless, I couldn't find anything I like to wear. Though I love my sister very much, we don't exactly have the same style in clothing, which may also be the reason that despite being married and a mother she is still considered the life of the party, while I was still plain Jane.
Just as I was going to give up, my older sister Riana came into room. "Ready to go to that party?" I know it's petty, but if she knew that I was going to a club she would kill me within seconds. She's like a second mother to me despite the fact that she's only eight years older than me. Even though she wasn't my biological sister she's still one of the greatest things in my life; without her I seriously wouldn't know where I would be. She always has good advice for me whenever I'm stuck as well as allowing me to borrow her clothes when needed like tonight. But besides all of that, she also wanted to see me off well, meaning that she would prohibit me from going to certain places, it was a wonder she was allowing me to go to the 'party'.
"Not exactly, I have like a half hour to get ready and I still don't know what to wear." I fell back on her bed groaning in defeat. "Hmmm" She went towards the closet and started to go through her clothes. About five minutes later, she whipped up an outfit for me to wear.
She held a strapless dress which was white on top and had brown sequin triangular patterns on the bottom. After putting it on, she did my makeup in which she applied a matte sierra colored lipstick letting my full lips to pop out and a smoky eye look bringing out my brown eyes. Continuing to my hair she left it in it's natural state and put a sliver diadem on the top of my head, allowing it to shimmer throughout my dark brown hair.
Finally, to top it all off Riana gave me one of her white Steve Madden heels and a clutch finishing off the look. I then look at myself in the mirror; I looked so different....beautiful. I then gave my sister a big hug. "You're officially the best sister in the whole world." She chuckled softly, "I know." She pushed me all the way to the front porch and said, "Have fun!" I smiled softly and walked towards the car which I knew my friend was driving.
"Damn girl, you look hot!"
I playfully roll my eyes expecting that from Janice. " You don't look that bad yourself." She drove off as quickly as possible, claiming that she wanted to be there on time to get a good park.
"Can you get that bag in the back seat?" I nodded and stretched my hand back, feeling a strap and pulled it towards the front. It wasn't that big, looked more like a purse if you'd ask me. As she reached a stop light she took the back pulling out two cards, they were fake I.D.s. My eyes were wide in anticipation as she had a big smirk on her face. "You didn't think I would've been able to get it, did you?" I couldn't lie, I didn't actually think she would've been able to pull it off.
Janice was only a year older, which meant that if we do get caught with underage drinking at the club we would be put under probation at the university. I was scared beyond my wits wondering if we actually would be able to pull this off, but then again it wouldn't hurt to try, right? The only thing I needed to worry about was myself; as long as I don't slip up everything would be fine. There was a big bubble of nervousness within my gut and I could only pray that it would go down soon.
Within ten minutes we reached the club. You could easily tell that from the outside that it was packed, hopefully we would be a part of the group of people who were in there. We both got out of the car and walked towards the two bouncers.
I looked towards Janice and noticed that we were wearing two very different things. While she was wearing a crop top along with daisy dukes and pumps, I was wearing my dress and heels; we were night and day. She was the wild party girl and I was classy yet not afraid to party. I felt nervous showing the bouncer my fake I.D., not sure if he would notice that it was fake or not, but when he nodded and allowed me to go through, I couldn't hid my grin as I walked inside. Janice followed me and also grinned, getting ready to scream in delight. "Come on let's party!"
In all truth though I was happy I was capable to getting into the club, I wasn't happy that I was in the club. I'm not one who could naturally speak to people out of nowhere, it takes time for me. I guess it would be best to say I had trust issues, but nothing too serious.
For about an hour or so we both were dancing nonstop, if there was one thing we loved to do together it would have to be dancing; we could dance all night long without feeling tired. As a child my mother signed me up for dance class, which I hated as first, but soon after I came to like it, realizing how it allowed me to gain some confidence. After some time we decided to take a break. As we headed to the bar I couldn't help but notice the men sitting staring at us. I mean I guess I was a little flattered but I don't go down that route. What I mean is that I'm in a relationship, which is another reason why I don't desire to go to clubs. As far as I know clubs are places where friends go to have fun or for singles to get to meet someone. I know that Janice doesn't believe me when I say I'm out of the scene, but one day I would allow her to meet him.
Going back to reality, I'm now with Janice talking with the men. They seem alright, but it's too obvious that they want to get into us. I find that disgusting. Call me a prude or whatever but I believe that sex should be done after marriage. It was the way I was taught and I intend to teach my children the same thing. Why give it away to some random person when it should be something meaningful, at least that's what I think. Janice, on the other hand, didn't think so. She believed that we only have so much freedom so we should be able to use it however we want, though I do ask her to do it wisely and make sure a condom's at hand. I couldn't bear to know that my friend got a disease from some weirdo or even get pregnant.
Within the next hour I am left all alone since Janice went to dance with one of the guys. The other stayed with me, but realizing I wasn't interested he left. I sighed softly to myself turning towards the bar. "Just water please." Knowing how Janice gets when she gets her hands on a drink, I decide that it's better that I am the designated driver.
When the bartender gives me my glass of water I quickly drink it down, now realizing how parched I am. I ask for another one looking around. Everything seemed normal, until I noticed something, or someone to be specific. My brown eyes widened a bit noticing a pair of aqua blue eyes staring at me. Somehow I started to feel self-conscious and looked away, more like looking for Janice. I know it could just be me being paranoid but I have a feeling I'm not, that if I don't get away from here within the next few seconds I could actually be in danger.
As I was walking away from the bar, I felt a harsh grasp on my small wrist. I was forced to turn around and looked back into those deep blue eyes. I could feel fear rising within me as I looked down a little seeing his plump lips turn into a smirk. His skin looked a little tanned and there was something that wasn't right looking into his eyes. Suddenly, I felt a hand go around my waist and pulled me closer to him, much closer. Our faces were literally inches apart, it would take seconds for him to kiss me, which wasn't something I wanted.
I won't lie, he's really handsome, but I just wasn't interested. My lips trembled a little as he whispered something into my ear. "What's a beauty like you doing in a place like this, kitten ?"
Kitten.
You know those times you feel like throwing up in your mouth, those were one of them for me. It sounded so.....degrading.
I was scared beyond my wits, which caused me to freeze out of fear. It was as though he could feel the fear radiating off of me since his smirk only grew. My heart was beating a mile a minute. Seeing his face up close I realized something; I've seen him somewhere before. Though some may see this as a good thing, I actually didn't, only because I didn't know from where and how this would actually affect my life. Just as he was going to kiss me I made a rash decision.
I kicked him where the sun doesn't shine.
His face turn to an expression of obvious pain and within those few seconds I ran towards Janice. I tried to pull her along with me ,but of course being herself she wanted to know what had happened. I turned around only to see him back up and looking for me. I only hoped she could see the panic on my face and just come along.
Thankfully she did.
From there we both ran towards the car, she gave me her keys as we both buckled up. As I was pulling off, I saw a tall figure coming towards the car, it was him. Before he could even get a chance to see us I sped off faster than a NASCAR driver.
I thankfully was able to get away, for now.
"So he just came up to you out of nowhere?" Janice was still in shock mood from how fast everything went. I drove to a late night cafe to get her some coffee, so she could sober down a bit.
"Not exactly, I think he was staring at me for a while, but it wasn't until I noticed him that he came over." My hands were slightly shaking remembering what had happened.
"How did he look like, maybe I'll recognize him." From where? I thought to myself as her eyes began to show one like Curious George.
"He was tall, I mean really tall. He had broad shoulders and carried himself in a somewhat cocky way. His hair was blonde, more like a dirty blonde and short; a mixture of being tousled and gelled back. His eyes were on the big side, you could see his deep blue eyes searching through my soul. He also had somewhat of a light beard, like he didn't shave for two or three days."
"Girl from your description alone it's sounds to me that you'll be daydreaming about him." I gave he a dirty look before rolling my eyes towards her statement.
"Earth to Janice! I'm being serious about him making me uncomfortable. You asked for a description and I told you. Now tell me whether you've seen him before."
She muttered a few curse words towards me before answering."Actually I did. He was staring at you all night. It was a wonder he didn't go up to you before. I think I saw him in a magazine too. When I get home I'll look for it. But damn girl! Now you have a hot guy after you. At least now you can't say you're undesirable."
"I always knew I was desirable, hence me having a boyfriend. But I think he was just trying to play with me. By now he might be harassing a different girl."
Scoffing, she drank some of her cold coffee before replying. "Though I still don't believe you have a boyfriend, I honestly don't think he's checking out another girl right now. If what you say is true; and I'm not saying you aren't, he may actually still be looking for you right now." She wiped her lips before giving me a mischievous look.
"Don't be silly! I'm pretty sure he's not; anyway we need to head back. If my sis is looking out her window to see when I'm arriving back, which she most likely is, she'll freak if I reach back really late."
Finally admitting defeat, Janice drove me back to my sister's, who low and behold was waiting for me. Bidding my friend a goodbye, I walk up towards the porch. Just as I was heading inside, I turned back to see Janice drive off. I swear that from the corner of my eye there was a dark shadow not too far away just standing in place, and that did bother me a little, but I ignored it going into the house; sleep was calling for me.
