PROLOGUE

KELLY's POV

I couldn't help but to smile giddily when I saw him sitting in the middle of the gazebo which inside the secluded park. Because this park isn't popular and it's on the top part of the city, there are only few people a day who visits and today isn't an exception.

He looked so cool wearing his black hooded jacket and ripped jeans. His short sides with medium length hair on top was neatly fixed with gel. His one week old beard just added to his bad boy look and I loved it. He looked at his wristwatch with a scowl and then stood up. He turned around and looked like he was about to leave when he saw me staring at him.

"Babe, you're finally here. Why didn't you approach me right away? I thought you're not going to come anymore because you're late" He automatically kissed me on the lips and then took my books that I was holding together with my bag.

With my shoulder bag on his shoulder and the books in his left hand, he looked like he's a student even though he's not and I couldn't help but to snicker.

The first time he did this, I was laughing so hard because he looked like a bad boy but he has a shoulder bag like a girl. He didn't mind at all though. Even though some people were teasing him about it. In fact, he's so proud of it. He's very vocal about the fact that we're together which I knew for sure that he didn't do with his previous girlfriends.

"Sorry about that, babe. Blake and I went to the library for our assignment in English. Our teacher doesn't like for us to look for answers online for this particular topic so we didn't have a choice but to go to the library"

"So, did you manage to get what you needed for your assignment?"

"Yup. In fact, we already finished writing it" Stephen grinned and snaked his free hand around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"That's nice to hear. It's Friday today and I'm hoping that we can spend time together"

"Hmmm...What are we going to do today then?" I asked, indicating that I agreed. His eyes shone with excitement.

"Hmm...Which do you prefer, eating dinner at a restaurant or at my place?" I bit my lower lip. I wanted to choose the latter but I knew what would happen. The last time I went to visit him to his place because he was sick, I almost gave up to his seductions. Thankfully, I got my control back in time before he could even remove a single particle of my clothes.

In our three months of being in a relationship, Stephen tried on seducing me for a couple of times and I was always tempted to give in but I always backs out before the real deal and even though he's been saying that he understands because I'm still young, I knew that he's frustrated about it.

Before we became a couple, he's a playboy and used of doing dirty things with his women. He just stopped playing with women when he courted me. I knew that he's been trying his hardest to stick to his words because he already avoided going with his friends to night outs.

We have a 7 year age gap. There's a part of me that's shouting for me to just give in to his seductions but the major part of me was saying no because I knew that I'm still too young for those kinds of things. My 18th birthday just finished two months ago but that doesn't mean I could indulge myself with such things. I'm not ready yet.

"L-Let's just go to the restaurant" The excitement on his face disappeared and I could see the disappointment in his eyes. He then smiled but I could tell that he was just forcing himself not to show it to me.

"O-Okay then, babe. let's go. I'm already starving because of waiting for you to show up" I rolled my eyes.

"You're being exaggerated. It's my first time being late" He chuckled softly and then kissed my temple. The happiness in my heart doubled because of how sweet he was being. We descended to the stairs until we reached the parking area where he left his car.

We got inside his car and then drove to our favorite restaurant. We chatted happily about different things while eating and even with the simple things like this made me feel like I'm important to him because he's listening to whatever I say.

This is one of the reasons why I fell in love him. He never even touches his phone whenever we're together. His attention was always on me.

After our early dinner, we went to the mall. We weren't planning on doing some shopping, we just wanted to be with each other a little bit longer.

"Babe, look at these one set of sexy underwear. I'm sure, they will look good on you" My eyes bulged in shock because he was now holding the underwear in front of me and people inside the shop were now looking at us.

"Stephen! I already told you that I don't like sexy underwear like these!" I hissed but he just grinned at me. He tried to give me sexy underwear before but I declined it because I wasn't comfortable wearing them. I just love my normal undies which are more comfortable.

"I'm just trying my luck this time but in looks like it didn't work again" He pretended that he was disappointed but I didn't buy it. He was even pouting and he looked so cute. I knew he was just trying to make me agree to him again with those puppy dog eyes.

We left the underwear shop without buying the stuff he wanted for me.

"I'm thirsty. Would you mind waiting in line and buy us a drink, babe? I'm just going to get something somewhere" My eyebrows knitted together.

"Where are you going?"

"I'll be back. Just buy us drinks and I'll be back in no time"

"Fine" I said and he left. When I finally got to buy drinks, I waited for him at the bench nearby and when he came back, he has a wide smile on his face.

"This is for you, babe" He handed me a small box.

"What's this?"

"Just open it" I opened it and I was surprised because of what I saw. It was a beautiful locket necklace. I opened the heart shaped pendant and I saw our picture inside it. I couldn't suppress the happiness that surged inside my heart. I cupped his face and stared at him lovingly.

"Thank you, babe. You made me so happy" He put his hands over my hands which were still on his cheeks. He took my hands from touching his cheeks and then kissed them.

"I'm glad you liked it. My brother was the one who made that" This was the second time he mentioned about his brother and I've never met him yet, even his parents. I was about to ask him about this family when he leaned in and kissed me. It was just a gentle kiss. I was about to respond to his kiss when his phone rang.

He let go of me and then answered his phone. He even went away from me and when he got back, he told me that he would drive me home. He looked disturbed and worried.

"What happened?" I asked him curiously. He smiled but it didn't reach his eyes.

"Nothing, babe. C'mon, I'll drive you home"

"It looks like you have an emergency. I can manage to go home. I'll just take a cab"

"But---" I put a finger on his lips to silence him.

"I'll be fine. Just go" He kissed me again and then hugged me tightly like it was his last chance to do so.

"Thank you for always understanding me, babe. Take care, okay?" He said and then kissed my temple. I wanted to ask why he's behaving weirdly but he already hailed a taxi.

"Call me when you arrive home, okay?" He said.

"Okay. See you tomorrow, babe. I love you" I said and got inside the taxi. When the taxi started moving, I looked at him and he waved his hand. He then went inside his car.

I didn't know why I felt strange. I was worried for some reason and there was something inside me that's telling me to go after Stephen. I clutched my chest and then looked at the taxi driver.

"Sorry, Mister, but can we go back and follow that car?" I asked the driver as I pointed at the car of Stephen behind us. I saw the car started moving away to the opposite direction.

"Are you sure, miss?" The driver asked. I nodded my head. He quickly made a U-turn and then tailed behind Stephen's car carefully. I was surprise when he didn't took the way to his house. He drove passed the route to his house and went straight.

After about 30 minutes, he stopped in front of a bar. I quickly got out of the taxi the moment Stephen went inside the bar. I remained standing in front of the place and wasn't sure if I would go inside or not.

Stephen looked fine. I shook my head. What are you doing, Kelly? Spying on your boyfriend like this isn't a right thing to do...

I turned around and was about to walk away from there when my phone rang. It was Stephen.

"Hello, babe. Are you home now?" He asked. I cleared my throat.

"Not yet. What about you?" I didn't know why I asked that. I bit my lower lip.

"Yes. I'm already home. I'll call you again later, babe. Love you" I almost gasped loudly because he lied. My grip on my phone tightened. I knew I lied but I didn't expect for him to lie as well. No! Maybe he has a reason for this...I need to trust him!

"I-I love you too" I said and then he ended the call. I didn't know how long I remained standing there as I watched all the people going in and out of the bar. I wanted to go inside but I didn't have the courage to see what he's doing.

Then after about 30 minutes more, the door of the bar opened again. I quickly hid myself behind the car near me when I saw Stephen came out. I looked at the people with him who came out of the bar but what I saw next almost killed my heart. Stephen was with a woman. His arms were over the woman's shoulders and tears automatically fell from my eyes when I saw him kissed that woman.

They're almost making out and the way he was kissing the woman was so different of the way he kisses me before. Maybe if they're not outside, they might have had s*x already because of how wild they were kissing.

Then, they finally stopped.

They looked happy and the people who were with them were already teasing them. Then, they continued again. I couldn't control myself anymore. I went out of my hiding spot and approached him. I wanted to confront him right here, right now.

"Stephen" I called for his name. He stopped kissing the woman to look at me. His eyebrows creased like he was confused why I was there. Then after a couple of seconds, his eyes widened in shock. He looked like he couldn't believe that he saw there, standing in front of him because it took him a couple of seconds to digest what's happening.

"Who's she?" The woman with him asked as her eye brow raised while looking at me from head to toe.

"What are you doing here? You're---" He asked and I didn't know why he sounded differently. He looked drunk. Before he finished his sentence, I interrupted him.

"How could you deceive me like this?! I've loved you but this is what you do in return?!" I was almost shouting in anger. My voice was also trembling as my tears continued to pool down from my eyes. My fists tightened. He stepped towards me.

"I-I'm sorry, I---" I didn't let him explain because I already slapped him. He looked shocked.

"W-Why? Why did you do this to me? I thought you loved me?" I couldn't help but to asked bitterly. My tears were traitorously falling from my eyes against my will. It hurt a lot.

He didn't answer for a couple of seconds before he looked me in the eyes and then finally spoke.

"I-I did but---" he heaved a sigh as he raked his fingers though his hair. He looked guilty.

"You're still a child Kelly and I can't do these kinds of stuff with you so I searched for someone who could give my needs to me. I'm sorry if you saw us like that but----"

"F*ck you, Stephen! Howdare you do this to me? I regret the day that I met you!" I spat furiously at him and was about to walk away when we heard a gunshot echoed from the inside of the bar then followed by screaming of panicking people who were already coming out of the bar, running for their lives.

Then I saw Stephen ran towards the bar as his friends called for his name. He didn't look back at them and entered inside. He didn't even say anything to me before he left. I was about to follow him because I got worried of him but someone pushed me and because I didn't see that coming, my butt landed on the hard surface of the ground.

"Don't you dare follow him or else you'll going to get what you deserve! He's mine!" The woman he was with a while ago said menacingly before she turned her back on me and followed Stephen.

"Sorry about that. Give me your hand, I'll help you get up" One of Stephen's friends said as he offered his hand. I gingerly took his hand and he helped me to stand up.

"T-Thank you" I whispered while still crying. I didn't know what to feel of what happened. It all happened so fast. Just about less than two hours ago, we parted ways nicely. He even said that he loved me the last time he called me. But now, I felt like everything that's happening was just a nightmare.

I didn't know what to think or do. I remained standing there, feeling so pained, deceived and hurt. All I knew was I was a mess inside and my heart was crying painfully.

The guy nodded his head.

"You should get out of here before Ingrid sees you again" He said and tapped my shoulder before he walked away and followed his friends inside the bar.

I wiped my tears angrily and was about to turn around and leave the place, when a couple of shots echoed from inside the bar again. I screamed in horror because of what's happening. Then I heard the sirens of the police cars getting closer to our direction.

I ran away from that place as far as I could and when I finally felt tired, I stopped and stared into nothingness as tears started falling from my eyes again.

"Damn you, Stephen! I hate you!" I shouted as I burst out in tears again.

I didn't know how I got home after that. I felt numb everywhere while staring into space like I wasn't myself.

That night, I cried and cried until my eyes became sore and puffy. Then, I promised myself to forget about Stephen, the man I loved but hurt me so much...
