Sadness and Pain

Abigail stood in front of her door, ready to face the world again. Maybe. She hadn't gone back to the base since she graduated, in fear Wheeljack would be there.

Oh, how she wanted to explain to him why she didn't tell him. How she wanted to talk and joke and laugh with him. She wanted to be called "femme joker" again. Most of all, she wanted to be his friend again. She felt tears coming to her eyes, and she lifted her hand from where it rested on the door knob, instead going back to her bed, and sitting down. She grabbed the little pouch that held the device Wheeljack gave her, and tried to fight back the want to open it and see the blinking blue light. If he was even still on Earth.

Abigail threw it to the side and groaned softly, falling back on her bed, staring at the metal bars that held her sisters mattress. She tried to ignore the want to grab the pouch and open it to dump out its contents, but the more she tried to ignore it, the more she wanted to open it.

She could feel her heart yearning towards it, and eventually, she succumbed to the temptation. She reached over, and grabbed the pouch, opening it, and very gently pulling out the square device. She stared at it in shock.

The light was blinking rapidly, indicating that Wheeljack was nearby. Or at least the other device was nearby. Abigail sat up, and the light blinked even faster.

Abigail stood up- the light blinked faster. She moved towards her window, and it blinked even faster and faster. She hesitantly stood in front of the curtains, and very gently peeked around them to look down into the street.

There was nothing there. She sighed, and opened the curtains to allow the light to come into her room. And as she was about to turn away, something caught her eye, on the sill of her window. A small flashing light. A blue flashing light that was flashing so quickly it was almost not flashing at all. Abigail's heart plunged as she realized what it was.

"How... how did he even get it in here without me noticing? How... how long has it been there?" Abigail couldn't help but ask aloud. There was no response as she stared at it, tears filling her eyes as she reached out to grab the identical device to the one she already held.

Her tears spilled over as she brought the two together, and the light flashed blindingly before going dark. Abigail suck to the floor, and held both the devices to her chest where her heart was and cried softly.

As she cried, she thought about what had happened, and started to grow angry. That was her secret to keep! How dare he yell at her for her own secret and not let her explain herself? She growled softly, before standing up and going to her phone, calling Optimus.

"Hey, Optimus", she asked. "Is Wheeljack at the base?"

"Yes", Optimus replied cautiously. "Why do you ask?"

"Because I need to speak with him", her voice grew dark. Even through the phone, she could sense Optimus' nervousness, though she knew he would understand.

"I will be there to pick you up shortly", Optimus replies. Abigail hangs up, and places both of the devices in her pouch, which she puts in her jacket pocket as she pulls it on.

She storms downstairs, and waits outside, glaring at the curb. When she hears the familiar engine of Optimus pull up, she looks up, still glaring, and quickly climbs inside, not even bothering with her seatbelt, though she knows Optimus will slide one over her anyway.

Optimus was quiet, and Abigail was glad for that, allowing her anger to steam. Soon, they arrived at base, and as soon as Optimus' door was open to let Abigail out, she was met by Desolater, who had been confined to base due his abnormal size for an Earth cat.

"Creator, are you alright?" he asks, his optics shining a bright orange. Abigail glanced at him and gave him a short nod, before turning to glare at the white, orange, and green mech who ignored her.

"Wheeljack, I can either say what I want to sat in front of everyone else, or we can talk in private", Abigail growled lowly, hey eyes flashing a dark green. When the mech didn't respond, Abigail spoke again.

"Fine. I guess everyone gets to hear my tirade", she growls. "First of all, you. are. a. glitch. You yell at me for something that was my secret to tell at my own free will. For something I wasn't in charge of. It is not my fault Soundwave is my Sire. It is not my fault I am the daughter of a Decepticon. And it is not my fault that I did not tell you. I barely know you, even with whatever connection I had with you. I didn't tell these guys until weeks after I met them and spent a lot of time with them. And even then, I didn't want to tell them. But do they hate me for something that isn't my fault? No. You are alone in your anger."

Abigail looked down to the ground, her anger having dissipated. "However, I cannot stop you in your anger. I can only explain to you why I did not tell you. However, if you truly believe me to be a spy for the Decepticons, I will leave this base, and live out the rest of my days as a human, or as a neutral if I am ever able to return to my true form."

Abigail turned and looked at Optimus, who instantly got her message and transformed. She glanced once more at Wheeljack, who was staring at with such intensity, it made her uncomfortable and she turned away. She walked over to Optimus, and said a quick goodbye to Desolater, which included a hug before climbing into Optimus' passenger seat.

She didn't look back once as she reached into her now empty pocket, her heart yearning for the device she once had.

Desolater turned to Wheeljack, placing something on the ground before speaking.

"Creator wishes me to give this to Wheeljack", he says, pawing a small black pouch towards the white, green, and red mech. Said mech curiously walked over and picked it up, emptying the contents into his servo. His spark panged at the sight of the two devices he had once shared with Abigail. He gently closed his digits around them and closed his optics tightly, trying to hide back any pain.

He knew Abigail was right. He had almost no right to be mad. It wasn't her fault she was the daughter of someone he had grown up hating. His spark clenched again, and he instantly transformed, driving out of base to the femme joker's house. He passed Optimus as the leader was on his way back to base, and slowed down in front of the house, staring at the window he had ever so carefully placed the device in. He thought about pulling over and going to talk to her, but his pride won over and he left, driving far away until he was nowhere near the base or his favorite human's house.
