"That's my girl💀"
I waited in the booth as I scrolled through my phone for the unread messages, I had come to my favorite cafe, scones, and tea, to order. It was the most quiet place I could stay and work without much disturbance.
Soon after a waiter came and dropped my order, a chocolate milkshake, I know taking something sweet so early isn't healthy but I needed it. Work was piling up at the office since I was abroad for a convention and I needed to catch up.
I sipped my milkshake and sighed at how good this was, I missed it so much. An hour later I finished my milkshake and my 150 messages, that's the smallest I have seen so far, on a normal day it could be 300 above or more, let me not even talk about the time I had to answer 1000 messages because I broke my phone.
Worse days.
Don't get me wrong... I'm not all that popular, just a simple being with a LOT of work.
When I was done, I had to order a coffee to go, since I would be spending my time working.
Thanking the cashier, I took my to-go package and left, since my car was still around the corner I had to walk.
Being the aesthetic person I am, I took a picture of my cup, showing the brand and the early morning sun.
"Beautiful". I breathe, taking the air in. I decided to edit my pictures as I walked and mistakenly bumped into something hard.
"I'm so sorry" I quickly apologized seeing my coffee spilled over someone.
"Were you blind or was it the attention you wanted?" A deep menacing yet calm voice said. I looked up at the person I spilled my coffee on and saw a handsome man, with smooth black hair, a well-sculptured jaw, and captivating brown eyes; His broad shoulders were capable of using me as a dumbbell and his lips in a gorgeous thin line.
In total, he was drop-dead gorgeous.
But he sounded pissed even if he didn't look like it.
"Excuse me?" I blinked back at his words.
"It's funny how your gender craves attention in multiple ways," he said aloof and I saw some men cautiously standing behind him.
"What the-"
"How are you going to pay?" He interrupted me before I could talk.
What was wrong with this guy? Who does he think he is? Even if he was some important person, I hated being oppressed.
"Pay for the clothes? Or for your etiquette classes?" I scoffed still being polite
He looked at me with an expression I couldn't read. "Feisty, aren't you?"
I held myself from rolling my eyes "Look I said I'm sorry. And I did mean it, but you didn't have to be so rude about it, alright?"
He remained silent and stared at me "And you think you, meaning it, would pay for my clothes?" He raised a brow as he tucked his hands away into his pockets.
I was slowly losing my temper, and people were beginning to look in our direction.
"Since you consider your clothes over being reasonable, fine, I'll deal with it. Here" I brought out a card with a number.
"Send your details to the number. I'll pay for the damages" I quipped and handed him the card. He looked down at the card and then back up at me.
He tilted his head a band it, and a small smile flashed on his face before it quickly disappeared like nothing was ever there. I shoved it into his hand and looked up at him.
"Just because you have a pretty face doesn't mean the whole world will worship you, who knows I could add a tip so you could go to a manners class" I smiled politely as I walked away, the men behind gave way for me as I walked.
I was pissed.
What the heck was all that?
Damnit! I need to vent before I head to the office.
No. No. I'm calm. I'm calm. I don't need such a jerk to ruin my day.
I stopped for a moment to breathe to calm my nerves. Immediately I entered my car, I drove out straight to the office.
"Morning Ms Camilla" the employees greeted me as I passed but I could only do as much as nod to acknowledge them.
I entered the elevator straight to the top floor and walked in without looking at anyone, my brother's assistant Amy came to talk to me but I passed her by and entered my office dropping my bag on the couch and sitting on the chair, my hands holding my head.
"Ms Camilla?" His assistant knocked. She cautiously walked in seeing that I was about to blow a fuse.
"Where's he?" I asked while trying to get myself in order.
My brother had called me earlier this morning asking for me to come over.
"In a meeting" she replied. I sighed. Not gonna let a rude person ruin my day.
"Okay. Please tell him I'm here"
She nodded, and left the office, while I was left with my thoughts. A few minutes later my brother walked in
"Already here, sis?" He said loosening his tie as he went over to sit in the chair
"Yeah."
"What's wrong with you?" He asked looking at me concerned "You're always all smiles, or did u have a bad nail day?"
"Haha" I said sarcastically "and by the way my nails are great" I quipped
He raised his hands in surrender "Woah. What's wrong with you, did someone piss you off or something"
I breathed in "Nah. Random person. I accidentally spilled my coffee" damn it. My coffee, I had forgotten about that, what a waste. "I didn't even get to enjoy it" I sighed.
"So that's what's bothering you?" He chuckled "Want me to order another one?"
"Don't worry. Kinda lost my appetite" I waved. "Anyways, why did you call me here?".
"Right" he said seriously and brought out a package "for this"
I stared at him confused "A package? Seriously Brian"
"It's important okay" he looked serious about it and I knew he wasn't joking.
"So what should I do?"
"You have to take it to this person," he wrote a name on a paper and taped it on the box.
"Kayden Reid? Who's that?" I asked seeing the name
"Just go there and say it's from Brian and I can't make it. I already called so he'll be expecting you"
I groaned I couldn't believe I was going to be an errand girl for him, but it was not the first time anyway.
"You owe me" I glared at him, taking the package.
"That's why I love you lil sis" he gives his charming girl-swooning smile but I just scowl, I can see through his facade.
"You know I have my own life too, but nooo, I've to be an errand girl for you" I lamented.
"C'mon sis, you said you weren't busy and you could help"
Damnit. He was right. I did say that.
"Fine. Fine. But that doesn't mean you won't owe me" I bargained
He groans "Fine. Shopping on me" he gave in and I smirked. I had my own money and made a lot but it was more fun spending his own.
"Deal" I smiled took the package and left, I was feeling in a better mood now.
I got into the car and played a catchy song to sing to.
I was still pissed but I couldn't focus on that, that will come later since I'm in a good mood now.
Just then my phone buzzed, it was Jessica, my best friend, I answered the call and put it on speaker.
"Hey, babeeee!" She screams over the phone.
"Hey, love. Was just thinking about you" I met Jessica in my freshman year and ever since then we have been friends.
"Of course, you have to. Who else is supposed to be on your mind since you're practically single" she said proudly, I rolled my eyes.
"Anyways! I got newssss" she squeals over the phone.
"Spill it" I caved, she always knew how to make gossip interesting.
"So, I saw the most handsome guy ever yesterday" I sighed, I should have known.
"He was so handsome Cams that I thought I was drooling"
"I'm sure you were" I chuckled
"Hey. Anyways he was drop-dead gorgeous girl! I mean can you imagine! God definitely has favorites"
I shook my head. Yeah, she hadn't changed a bit. "Yep I can only imagine it. So how are things going in London?" I changed the topic before she started daydreaming too far.
She sighs over the phone "it's going good, then association is editing some rules so I have to edit some things in the lab" Jessica was into the health department and was a scientist so she knew these things.
"Right. Maybe I'll come soon. I just came back from a convention in California but I can squeeze sometime to come"
She squeals again "damn girl, I've missed you. It's been so busy here I can leave but it would be great if you come"
"Yeah missed you too"
We chatted for a while before she had to go and I arrived at the destination. My neck literally has to crane up to see the height of the building.
"Wow.." I gaped at the building, it was so big and beautiful. I parked my car in the parking lot and went in, if the outside was beautiful then I can't describe the inside cause damn...
This is giving 'im so damn rich and classy' vibes. It was so elegant and everything looked customized
"Good morning how may I help you?" a receptionist smiles warmly at me, despite the place being minus seven degrees in here.
"Yeah...I have a package for Mr Kaden Reid?" I said more of a question than a statement.
"Your name please?"
"Camellia Asher"
"Okay please wait a minute" she nods and I smiled at her sweet she was. She then did a call and directed me to the person's office with the elevator.
There was a comfortable silence between us in the elevator as we reached the top floor.
"Thank you" I smiled as I left the elevator and she directed me to his office.
I knocked on the door, and thought it was okay to open the door.
I opened the door and looked around...wow.
I don't think I have stopped saying that since I got here.
The place was massive with see through glass walls, a dim color carpet, comfortable couches, a big desk and light touched of greenery like plants.
Wait. No one was here.
"Uhh?" I looked around but no one was here.
I turned to look for the woman that brought me here, but knew that she's already gone by now.
"Hello?" I talked to the empty room hoping someone would answer but nothing.
Should I wait? Or drop it?.
I kept the package on the desk as I waited looking around the place, it was dull but spacious, guess who ever owns the place doesn't like being attached to stuff.
I bit my lip in thought looking at the glass walls. Damn it's high.
I stepped back to avoid the down view, and continued to wait.
I look at my phone, ten damn minutes have passed and still nothing.
I texted my brother and told him I delivered the package and left, I have things to do as well but as I left, I felt a weird shiver ran down my spine and turned back to the empty room- still no one.
I shrugged it off and walked to the elevator and pressed the last button.
When I reached down I told the receptionist I had dropped the package since I hadn't seen the person.
As I left I felt like a cold shiver, and no it's not from the air conditioner, it was like someone was staring.
"Ridiculous" I shake myself. No one knew me here. Who would stare?
I silently comforted myself and left the building, still feeling like I was watched
Creepy.
