Ch-8 Yearnings

Chandni was desperately waiting for Angraj in her room. She had a very important news for him. Something he rightfully deserves to know.

There was a knock on the door and it was Angraj. He entered the room with a cheerful smile.

"Ang, there's a good news."

As he heard her words his cheerfulness flew out of window and tension clouded his already burdened mind. His handsome face had an epic expression which made him look sooooo cute.

"But I swear I didn't do anything. Or you did it when I was asleep. Girl, you raped me!? You took advantage of a helpless innocent guy."

"Shut your dirty mouth up before I kick at your most precious territory. And trust me you will never get your expected good news in your whole life after my kick."

He smiled nervously. It's not his fault that he behaved like an idiot. It's just that nowadays he has an idiotic company, namely his Chanda.

"I got first position in the whole district." She said enthusiastically.

"Oh! And I thought you raped me in my sleep!"

"SHUT UP YOU DIRTY MAN!"

"Hawww! The same man is the reason you got such a good result."

"Ang, please don't spoil my mood. I am very happy today."

"Okay, congratulations."

At the same time his phone rung. He quickly received it as it was his father's call.

"Chanda, I have to go. Baba wants to meet me right now."

She nodded understandably.

"But I want a gift for scoring well."

"You'll get it soon. And it's a promise."

With that he left.

After a week:

Chandni was living in a dream till the time Angraj was by her side. But she forgot that for her mother Chandni is now a prostitute. She forgot that her struggle has not ended and will not end till the time she is living in that Kotha.

But she had no idea what she will do if she left the Kotha that was a home to her.

Chandni intentionally fell from the stairs and made it look like a serious injury to keep her mother's intentions at a bay for some time. It was hard but it was needed to save her honour.

She was waiting for Angraj. Only he could help her out. He was her only hope in the midst of this hell of a life.

An evening she was sitting in her room with an upset mood, when a knock disturbed her thoughts.

She opened the door, with a hope that it would be Ang. But no, it was some other man.

She panicked. Is he going to...?

"Who are you?"
She dared to ask even when she had an idea of it.

"I am Sahib... Angraj's friend. And don't worry, you are going to remain a virgin for quite long time."
His tone was light-hearted, void of any wrong intention. And his eyes spoke volumes for his jolly nature.

She sighed but then glared at him.

"Why are you here?"

"I'll tell you but let me first enter the room in case if someone heard our conversation your ticket to freedom will be snatched."

With that he himself entered inside, while Chandni remained standing at her place in a confusion.

"Hey, don't be worried. I stay miles away from prostitutes."

"I am not a prostitute!" She snapped.

"Yeah, yeah, you are daughter of a prostitute. He told me. Now please close the door and listen to me."

This one dialogue of Chandni,
-I am not a prostitute, but daughter of a prostitute- was cliche, yet it showed that a person's background doesn't define his or her personality or ambition.

She hesitantly closed the door but she didn't move from there. If he tried to do anything wrong, she'll immediately run outside.

"So you have trust issues with me. But no problem, I can understand."

"Just speak your business."

"Cool down, angry bird! I am here to tell you that..."

"That?" She just hated this suspense.

"Ang wants you to run away from here and start a new life outside this hell."

Her mouth was agape and eyes widened.

"He has made all of the arrangements. Your new home to your new job, everything."

It was hard to digest all at once. Ang wants her to leave the Kotha and start a new life. That's what she always wanted.

"You have to simply come to the terrace with your belongings tonight at 12. Rest is my responsibility. Are you ready to do it?"

She thought for a moment.

Was she ready to face the outside world?

Was she ready to leave the place where she was born and raised?

Was she ready to leave her mother forever?

Her answer was No.

But she knew it was happening for her own good. She could live her life like every normal girl wishes to. She won't need to be afraid for her safety.
She could pursue her career in dance.

She will have everything which she yearned to have.

Freedom

Respect

Safety

Career

And a normal Life.

But now she yearned for something more.

She yearned for Him. Her Angraj.

Will he be a part of her future? Because she highly doubted that.
