Chapter 6
Blinking owlishly, I slowly rise my eyes search his face, very sure that he has to be joking. Why on earth would he bring me to his room?! "Why would you bring me here? You know what happens if we are around each other unsupervised!" I don't fight the slight hysterical note in my voice as I remember what happened between us previously, I feel a fleeting satisfaction when I see Hunter flinch slightly at the sound.
Although that smugness disappears as soon as he opens his mouth and speaks. "It's because we need to talk." He is breathing normally now, as he strides across the room and locks the door. "It is only for a short while so we won't be interrupted. I will unlock it afterwards." Somehow I can't fault his words and his serenity flows over me. Still, I frown. I don't really trust him since he is as adapt at Charm Speak as me, if not more.
"Why should I trust you?" I huff, still seated on the soft bed. "How do I know that you are not using Charm Speak to get me to agree with you?" Crossing my arms in front of my chest, glaring. The sound of the lock clicking into place makes me think that I will not be leaving this room ever. I swallow thickly as he strides back to stand in front of me.
His legs are at hip width, arms crossed as he stares down at me. "I am pretty sure you will be very resilinent to any if not all Charm Speak." He gives me a pointed look, as I shake my head to get rid of the sudden buzzing in my ears. "Told you." He cocks his head to the side and gives me a 'duh' look. "The reason we need to talk is because there is something to going on between your blood and me. It is calling to me, and no matter how hard I try, I can not deny the Blood's Call." His teeth clench and a tick twitches in his jaw. "I need you to do something about it!"
My jaw drops at his words. The seer arrogance of this guy is unbelievable! "How in the name of God, am I ever going to change my blood?!" I shriek in outrage, there is no way I can change anything about my blood or what's in it that attracts him. My eyes flit over his face, and I realise I am all up in his personal space, a place that is dangerous for the both of us. Hunter seems to realise this too as he blinks at me but doesn't step back.
Fighting the tingles as his nose brushes mine when he presses closer, his eyes hooded. A breath shudders through my lungs as his eyes dilates when he purposely breathes in my scent. Swallowing thickly as his nose skims a line from my nose to the edge of my jaw down my throat, stopping at my madly beating pulse.
"Fuuu—" I gasp as his tongue drags a slow line from my pulse up to my ear. "Hng" Flinching as he nips the skin, I barely manage to push him away. The action has drained all my strength and anger. "Gah!" It is the only sound of my protest as he easily pushes me on my back, his hands skimming my sides. His hands bunch up my shirt, nails scraping gently over my skin. My world narrows down to the feeling of his skin meeting mine, my body shudders and arches as he cups my waist, fingers digging in my back.
"So responsive." The words are murmured as if in praise, yet my stomach knots uncomfortably. Blinking, I find my shirt tugged up over my head and flung to a far part of his room. He bites his lip as his eyes drink in my exposed skin. To my utter embarrassment, my nipples harden in to little knobs under his unyielding stare. As a slow smile spreads over his face, it is like looking at a beast that is getting ready to eat me, as if sensing my thoughts he licks his lips as he leans forward. "You're mine."
Opening my mouth to reply, he cuts of fany protest as he seals his mouth over mine. He easily takes control of the kiss as his mouth moves against mine, leaving me behind to follow him. The gleam in his eye tells me he is challenging me to see if I can keep up with him. Two can play that game. Shifting my head a bit to the side to get a better angle, I nip at his lips, earning a hiss from him. Although I accepted the challenge and I can keep up with him, I lose all ground I gained when our tongues battle. His tongue is quite skillful as every probe or lick of it in my mouth turns my muscles into liquid. Once he releases my mouth, I feel a bit of pride at the fact that we are both panting for breath.
A smile that has my heart stuttering as it lights up his face, Hunter backs up, puling me along with him. "Wha—" Blinking I find myself standing near a open door.
"This is why I hate you." He growls. Giving me a hard push, I stumble into the space on the other side of the door. "I have no self-control with you around."
"You god damn conceited bastard!" I pound on the door, and give it a venomous kick when I get no reaction. "If you knew this would happen why bring me here?!" I mutter as I sit down on the toilet seat in defeat. Nothing of the grandeur interior registers. Not the expensive looking white and black checked marble floor, the shiny gold finishes on the handles or the massive bathtub on claws. "Why not stay in a crowded area if you knew this was going to happen?" My hands muffle my words as they slide down from my temples, to cup my chin. The only thing I can think of is being anywhere but here. I even prefer be back in my noisy and clearly less sophisticated dorm. Will they miss me?
I try not to dwell on those depressing thoughts. I better gather all my strength so that when that ass comes in here I can hopefully overthrow him and make a break for it. Tuning out the soft mutterings outside the door, I try and concentrate on dredging up some resemblance of strength that I can use. My curiosity is sparked when I hear Marcus' low timbre giving out to Hunter for locking me up in the bathroom. What was he going to do when he had to go and use it only to have me knock him down and make a run for it? What happened to just wanting to talk to me? My body shivers as I hear Hunter respond.
Preparing myself for the launch as the door cautiously opens, I skid to a stop in the middle of the launch as Jeremy's head pops around the door frame. "What are you doing here?" I state confused as to how he ended up here, but leave it be as he hands me a plate of hot food.
"Obviously the forced third party to mediate between you and him." He snorts, glaring at the door. "They really have no idea how to properly tell you do they?" I blush slightly as his sharp eyes flit over my half naked form seated on the floor. "They only know how to take. I blame the arrogant asses for thinking that because they are born into the higher classes."
"What does the Blood Call mean?" I stretch as I finished every morsel of wonderful food. "Hunter was bitching about it and telling me to do something about it. But how am I to do something about my blood?" A silence lengthens as I try to wait patiently for Jerry to start speaking. "What? What is it?" Leaning forward, I am slightly worried about Jerry's ash grey complexion. "What is so terrible about it?"
"There is nothing terrible about it per say, but it is quite serious." Jerry sighs as he shifts to sit beside me and leans his head against one of the cabinet beneath the sink. "The Blood Call is something that happens to bonded when they are ready to fully and physically commit to their relationship. It is something that usually takes weeks, months or in some extreme cases even years." Letting out a stressed breath, I try and wrap my mind around the information. "Somehow that process for you has escalated and your body is yearning for physical intimacy." Jerry's fingers twitch in his lap as he refuses to look at me. "And somehow your body decided that Hunter DeSilva is the one it needs."
"How....?" Jerry holds his hands up and shakes his head, clearly not knowing the answer to my question. Letting out a deep sigh, I drop my chin to my chest. "This is obviously not going to work." Slumping down, even lower than I was, depression is setting in. "I want to go."
Jerry gets up, disappears for a few minutes before returning with my shirt, holding it out to me. "Then we will leave." He gives a glance at the room beyond the door "They can go stuff themselves." With his serious expression, I can't help but burst out laughing. He looks at me a little frightened as my laughter turns slightly hysterical. "Please tell me that was just you just releasing your pent up stress." His eyes dart every which way along the sparsely populated corridor.
"Yeah..." My shoulders sag as I release a long gust of breath. "It made me feel a whole lot better. Where did they go anyway?" When we left the bathroom, there was nobody in the room beyond or even the room after that and the door was left wide open. I don't think Hunter trust a lot of people and is pretty possessive. So why did he leave the door open for the world to walk in?
"I don't know, and I am not going to wonder about it." Jerry huffs a little as he closes the door behind us, twisting the doorknob to make sure it is closed. "They probably needed to lounge somewhere us simple folk won't stain their grand decor with our humble presence."
Rolling my eyes, I bump into his shoulder although I am smiling slightly. He did a good job in cheering me up. Unlike a certain someone. Just like that my thoughts are back on Hunter, why does this keep happening? I just can't seem to get him out of my mind. No matter what I do, it seems that my thoughts keep circling back to Hunter. I just want us to get along. I shake my head at that obvious ridiculous notion. I know that it is too much to ask for but it would be great that we could have a civil conversation.
Barely finished that thought, we are grabbed by Flint halfway back to the dorm. "You are wanted by the Head Master." He starts pulling me along into the direction of the main building. Seriously?! Looking at Jerry over my shoulder has Flint looking back at him as well. "What are you doing back there Rochester, get going, you are wanted as well." Poor Jerry pales as he scuttles after us quickly. Flint doesn't let go of me until we are literally standing in front of the Head Master's high polished desk. With the Head Master's face resembling a thundercloud.
Well... Isn't this nice?
