Chapter 4
Ainsley!!!
My heated glare falters as Hunter continues to invade my personal space. "No we don't!" I growl! We have nothing to talk about." I insist, pulling away from his hand still on my shoulder. "I don't even know you!" That only seems to make him more determined as he takes another step forward. "I SAID," I hiss through clenched teeth "Leave Me Alone!"
Of course he doesn't listen, as always it's just my luck that he isn't being influenced by my Charm Speak. Ever since I became aware of my 'gifts' I know if I want to, I can make people do what I want. Human and non-human alike. Sadly it doesn't seem to work on Hunter.
I freeze as he tucks his face in the crook of my neck, skimming his nose along the column of my neck. The shocked gasps tell me that this isn't normal behaviour for Hunter at all. Wide eyed, I stare at him as he comes back up to eye level. "Like I said, we need to talk." His voice is low, husky and I feel the Charm Speak subtly woven in the words. My body struggles as I fight off the effects of the Charm Speak. How dare he think he can use that on me of all people!
He hides his surprise as I manage to shake off the effects of his Charm Speak. That aside, his eyes still bore into mine, hypnotizing me with just looking at me. Biting my lip hard enough so that I taste the iron of my blood, I pull myself out of his bottomless gaze. "You're a stubborn one." He murmurs approvingly. "This will be interesting." My heart does the stuttering and flipping thing again as he unleashes an unabashed smile in my direction.
Taking advantage of my dazed state, he tugs me along the now crowded corridor. "HEY!" I demand as I manage to take repossession of my wrist. Still, my body follows him even though he is no longer hauls me along. My feet place themselves in front of each other, no matter how hard I resist the pull he has created with his Charm Speak.
I am not as immune to Charm Speak as I thought I was as I am still trailing after Hunter without a clue where he is taking me and why. "Where are you taking me?" The invocation doesn't come out as strong as I want it to. It comes out as a weak whisper instead of a command like I intended it to be. Turning his smoldering eyes on me and I nearly lose my sanity and will to not cave in. "I won't stand for this." My voice squeaks as I shiver as his eyes swil with some type of emotion I don't want to identify.
He is obviously more experienced in Charm Speak, but as we walk across the walkway between two buildings and a light breeze ruffles my hair and clothes, I feel the grip of his Charm Speak lessen. "This is far enough." My voice is soft but it sounds a lot stronger already, more like myself. "We can talk here." As long as we are not in an enclosed space, I should be able to stand my ground with whatever it is he wants to throw at me.
He leans casually against one of the pillars, arms folded and his ankles crossed. "I just hope you don't make a scene out of what I am going to tell you." I scoff at the mere mention of me making a scene of whatever he has to say. Motioning my hand for him to start talking, I just want to get this over with already. I just know this is going to bad, and my gut clenches as he shifts his stance slightly.
"Whatever crush you have on me, it's not going to work." The words leave his lips quite casual, yet I can't respond at all. I stand there frozen and mouth hanging open in shock. "I know this must be hard," He places a hand on my shoulder as I manage to close my mouth with an audible click. "But we are never going to work."
"You arrogant asshole!" I roar in rage at his retreating back, body quaking with restraining anger. "I don't have a crush on you, you bastard!" His eyes glow as he turns back to me, quick steps and his in my face.
"Then why the drawing of me?" He challenges, looking triumphant.
Gnashing my teeth as I want to smack him in the face, preferably with my fist, I take a deep breath. Doing so I unintentionally breath in his alluring scent which clouds my thought process for a few seconds. "The reason I drew that picture of you has nothing to do with me having a crush on you! Something like that will never happen! Even if we were last two on the planet, I wouldn't crush on you! Don't get ahead of yourself you smug bastard!"
Panting, I search his face for any type of reaction to my ranting. His brows are furrowed and his now full on glaring at me. I wait with baited breath for him to lash out at me, I know he is the type to not let this one slide. I know he is vain enough to think he is everybody's type. That everybody will like him. Just like I predicted he lashes out, but not in the way I thought he would.
I blink once and I find myself pressed up against the wall of the other building. His eyes flash a ruby red as he bares his teeth in aggression near my racing pulsing that runs along my throat. A soft gasp comes out in a rush at the gesture. Against all my instincts, I submit to his power play. He presses his lips roughly against the vein for a few long seconds in domination. Exhaling slowly through my nose as he drops me to the floor, I ignore his Alpha stare as I look him straight in the eye. "This is the one and only time I will submit to you." I warn him as I step around him and walk back the way we came.
Our little scuffle has become the talk of the school by the time I get back to the classroom for my next class. "Dude, you okay?" Jeremy pops up in my field of vision as I pull out all my gear that I need for taking notes for class. His wide eyes search my face for any signs of trauma.
"Are you sure nothing has happened?" The smug voice of Ruxandra calls from the other side of the room. "I mean being pinned to a wall is not nothing now is it?" I glare in her direction as a few kids in class gasp in shock. Jeremy opens his mouth to respond when luckily for me the teacher walks in and calls the class to order.
Unsurprisingly, I was later called to the teacher's lounge. Most likely to explain what transpired. With shoes filled with lead, I make my way over. "Come in." The authoritative voice on the other side of the double doors calls after I finished knocking on the door. Opening the door, I am no longer in awe as the open doors reveal a round room with floor to ceiling windows and furniture from another century. "Have a seat." Sinking down in the leather chair closest to the doors across from his massive desk, I try to patiently wait for the man dressed in a smart suit and slicked back hair to start talking.
To my irritation he doesn't and just continues to stare at me as the minutes tick by. His unwavering gaze remind me of a eagle watching their prey. A loud knock startles me and I jump a few inches out of my chair. "Come on in Hunter." The man announces and my head whips back to him in disbelief. A low snarl leaves me as Hunter walks passed me to take a seat in the other chair. "You both know the reason why you are called here." I don't need to pretend to ignore Hunter beside me. The man in front of us claims all my attention.
"What came to pass between the two of you earlier today will not be condoned. No matter your rank," Here he gives Hunter a meaningful look "or your blood heritage." he switches the meaningful look in my direction. I hiss in reaction before I can stop myself. My biological father has nothing to do with this!
"Regardless of that," The man continued "the both of you will need some more lessons in discipline." I could feel my eyes bug out. I am being punished for not doing anything wrong? I open my mouth to protest, but the man cuts me off. "You deliberately provoked Hunter, Ainsley. So yes, even you need some more discipline." I tune him out as he continues on about the disciplinary actions that are in store for us. In the end it comes down to do some meditating and spending the disciplinary hours with Hunter.

"Don't you have anything to say to me?"
I ignore the question and his burning stare as I continue the meditation exercise we started thirty minutes ago. Unlike me, Hunter 'Ice Prince' DeSilva has had this kind of training all his fancy ass life and is doing a more advanced exercise. For someone dubbed the Ice Prince he sure loves to talk. I grumble as he continues to stare unblinkingly at the side of my face.
"What is your problem?!" Growling I turn to face him only to recoil as his face is a breath away from mine. His now half lidded eyes searching for something in my confused ones. Pushing him away, I shuffle a few paces to the side, just to be out of his reach. That didn'thelp though, the damn guy followed me. Got up in my face once more, making my meditation exercise effort wasted energy. "What is it you want? A fight?"
Hunter snarls at my challenge. "I told you, back then was the first and last time I would submit to you." My spine stiffens as he narrows his eyes, "Never again." Grunting, I fall onto my back. Using his momentum against him, I force him over my head. Rolling onto my feet, I see Hunter rise onto his feet.
"You will submit me." Reacting on instinct, I duck as he aims a hand at my face, still somehow I react too late and I feel my head snap to the side. Feeling something trickle down my chin, I poke my tongue out and taste the metallic of my blood. Turing to face Hunter, I see him panting hard, face focused on the lower partof my face. On the blood.
A feeling of dread settles in my stomach as I see his nostrils flare, eyes wide. Not taking my eyes of him, I slowly inch to one of the two doors out of thisroom. I don't trust him at all now. The crazy look in his eyes doesn't sit well with me. I hold my breath as I see his muscles coil, ready to spring. Out of nowhere two thick arms wrap themselves around Hunter's midsection as he launches himself into the air.
I watch with wide and frightened eyes as Hunter struggles snarling like a wild animal. The cage of the tick arms hold as the person holding him slowly drags him out of the room. "Are you okay Ainsley?" Flinching at the sudden voice coming from behind me, I jump and turn around to see the Head Master stand there looking grave as Hunter's snarls die down as he is carried further down the corridor.
The way he looks at me, so focused, just as Hunter just had, makes me uncomfortable. "I am sure that Hunter's reaction must have startled you." He says, looking thoughtful. "You are not the only one who is surprised. One would have thought that his control would be better than that with all his training." He muses, staring in Hunter's direction.
