Chapter 45

"Hyuuuung," Jungkook whined, "Help me!"

Chuckling, Namjoon stepped forward, brushing the younger man's fingers away from the tangled mess of a tie at his neck. "I got it. Why are you such a mess?"

The ravenette grimaced, "How can you ask me that? This is the most important day of my life!"

"Yeah, but I've never seen you so nervous Kook. Not having second thoughts, are you?"

"Are you crazy?!", the younger snapped, "Of course not! I've been dreaming of this my whole life! Nothing could ever change my mind!"

The elder gave an amused smile as he finished fixing the mafia boss's tie, "Good. Because I'm pretty sure if you tried to back out now, you'd have at least half a dozen people trying to kill you..assuming your fiancé didn't get to you first."

Jungkook snorted as he appraised the final result in the mirror, "Tae would never let someone else kill me. He'd do it all on his own. But all this is a moot point. I meant what I said, I could never have second thoughts about today."

"Then what are you so nervous about?"

The younger huffed anxiously, "What if he changes his mind? Or what if I mess it up somehow and ruin the ceremony?"

Namjoon smiles as he shakes his head at the worried younger man, "Kook, Taehyung isn't going to change his mind. He loves you just as much as you love him. And if you mess the ceremony up, you won't have to worry about Tae being upset, because Jimin and Jin will kill you first."

"Chim! Nobody will see it!", Tae loudly whined, stomping his feet in frustration.

The older scowled, "Tae, you are NOT wearing a gun to your wedding!"

"Why not?!"

"It's a freaking wedding! It's supposed to be a sacred event! It's supposed to be beautiful and a peaceful symbol of unity--DAMMIT HYUNG QUIT MESSING WITH MY HAIR! "

The eldest shoots a withering glare at the pink-haired younger, "Who do you think you are talking to Park Jimin? I didn't put all this work into today to be disrespected like this! Now hush and let me finish, unless you want to look like you just rolled out of bed!"

Taehyung rolled his eyes at the older two's bickering. They'd spent the last 6 months planning the ceremony and Jin and Jimin were determined to make sure it was perfect. He'd had to listen to more arguments over flowers, colors, and fabrics than anyone should have to endure. At one point Jimin had even dared to try arguing with the eldest over the menu. That particular clash had ended with Jin chasing the screaming younger around the kitchen island with a frying pan.

Looking in the mirror, the youngest nervously smoothed his silky hair, "Are you sure about the color Chim?"

The older boy gave an appraising look at, his previous scowl softening into a smile. "Taehyungie, you look beautiful. The color looks stunning on you."

"But do you think Kookie will like it? It's so different."

Jimin scoffs, "You could shave your head bald and Jungkook would still be whipped for you. But still, he's going to be speechless when he sees you. Trust me."

Tae gives a nervous smile, taking a deep breath as he runs his slender fingers down the front of his clothes. Taking a deep breath, he nods,"Okay, I'm ready."

Sniffling as he wraps his arms around his best friend, Jimin feels gratitude sweeping through him. There was a time where he'd thought it was impossible for this day to ever come. To be standing here with Taehyung, after spending years believing he'd lost his soulmate and then discovering the boy had forgotten them...this day seemed like a miracle.

A knock at the door has the two swiveling to face the intruder. Baekhyun smiles at the door, "Hey, are you guys almost done in here? People are getting restless. And by people, I mean Lisa. And by restless, I mean she keeps eating the petals in her basket and if we don't start soon there won't be any left for her to scatter."

Jin gives a horrified gasp,"Oh for goodness sake, don't let her eat them! Why did we let Tae pick a 1 year old to be the flower girl again??"

Glowering at the stressed out man, Taehyung sniffs, "Excuse me, but I wanted my adorable niece to be my flower girl!" Turning to his hyung, he smiles, "Don't worry hyungie, we're almost ready. Is Chanyeol watching Lisa?"

The older chuckles, "No, he's actually checking on Kook. I left her with Suga and Jhope. You better watch out Jimin, Jhope looks like he might want to adopt his own soon."

Gaping at the mafia leader, the pinkette makes a few choked noises before pointing at Jin, "Don't look at me like that! I'm not ready to be a mom! If anyone's becoming a parent next, it's hyung!"

Rolling his eyes, Seokjin claps his hands, "That's enough! Everyone to their places!"

As everyone scatters, Baekhyun walks to his little brother and takes his arm, his eyes softening with emotion, "You really look beautiful Taehyung. I'm so proud of you."

Blinking back tears, the younger gives a sniff, "Hyung..."

"Don't you dare cry Kim Taehyung! I don't have time to redo your makeup!", Jimin snaps, giving a last once over to make sure the youngest looks acceptable. Giving a nod, he grins, "Alright! You ready to get married?"

Beaming a wide and boxy smile, the youngest nods and takes a deep breath, "Let's get the party started!"

As the music starts, Jungkook takes a deep breath, eyes raking over the guests before settling on the aisle where Chanyeol appears, carrying Lisa while the grinning baby happily chucks petals on the ground. Amused chuckles spread among the crowd at her enthusiasm, growing into guffaws as Chanyeol has to quickly scoop one damp handful from her mouth, earning a petulant scowl from the toddler.

Behind Chanyeol comes Jimin, a beaming smile covering his face. Catching his two boyfriends' eyes, he winks as he takes his place at the altar across from where Jungkook and Namjoon stand. Taking a deep breath, Jungkook looks anxiously at the entrance to the chapel. As it turns out, the deep breath was promptly knocked from him at the sight waiting for him.

Holding onto Baekhyun's arm, Taehyung is all in white, with a cape over his ruffled blouse and trousers which highlighted his long legs. The candlelight made his sapphire blue hair shimmer. Meeting Jungkook's eyes as they approach, the younger can't help but grin at the dazed look on the ravenette's face. He'd worried that the new hair color would be too much, but Jimin had assured him that it looked amazing. If Kookie's eyes were anything to judge by, Chim had been right.

Arriving at the altar, Baekhyun places a soft kiss on his cheek before placing his hand in the other mafia leader's hand. Gazing into Jungkook's dark eyes, Taehyung feels overwhelmed, tears pricking at the back of his eyes. The older smiles gently, clasping Tae's slender fingers in his own.

Exchanging rings, the two are hardly listening as the minister speaks, too wrapped up in each other's eyes to pay attention. At least until Jungkook hears, "You may kiss your husband," prompting him to clasp the younger's cheeks in his hands and press a tender kiss to his lips. Breaking apart, he beams down at his lover, joy shining from his eyes. Turning, they face the cheering family and friends who are present, Jungkook's arm wrapped tightly around his new husband's waist. The older swallows back tears as he relishes the moment. Years ago, he'd believed his life was effectively over. There could never be any joy in his life again if Tae were gone. He'd never dreamed he could ever experience this. He knew exactly how blessed he was to have another chance with his beloved, and he would jealously guard the source of his happiness.

Ducking his head, he pressed another gentle kiss to his husband's soft lips, "I love you Jeon Taehyung. Thank you for marrying me."

The younger giggled, "I love you Kookie. Thank you for finding me."

AN: *waves* I feel weird about finishing this. It makes me sad, and part of me wanted to come up with more drama for Taekook, but I think if I dragged it on past the original story it would go downhill. The only thing I still plan to do with this story is that at some point I'm going to write a special YoonMinSeok smut chapter. But writing smut is challenging for me (especially with so many people who all use the same pronoun), because I feel like it gets confusing differentiating between the partners. And I don't feel comfortable writing smut when my kids are wandering around. They're older (11, 13, & 15) and they'd definitely know what I was writing if they read over my shoulder!

I'm going to focus on working on The Monster's Family now, along with some one-shots. I have so, so, so many drafts, y'all just don't know. I constantly get new ideas, but I don't have time to pursue them. Literally, I probably have like 20 drafts. I have a draft involving a genie Taehyung, a couple hybrid AU's, a werewolf/hybrid VMinKook, etc.

Also, I know everyone might be feeling frustrated or sad about everything going on. I am too. But I have faith that there is another side and we'll make it there. We just all need to stick together. I 💜 you!
