༻ ༒ ༺
"Welcome!" You chirped.
Spring. The season of new beginnings.
Kirishima and the others responded with a nod or a greeting in return. It was fortunate they remembered human etiquette or they'd be deemed as delinquents.
Bakugou on the other hand was having a little panic attack. Which was something foreign to him.
But even with the blood rushing to his face that made him dizzy, he simply scoffed in reply back at you.
To which you rose a brow at his behavior, not that this was new to you though.
Once they found their seats, his ruby eyes found their way again to you.
You were so tiny before. You couldn't even reach his hips.
Observing you with serious eyes, you grew taller and... more feminine than when you were younger.
Before he knew it, memories flooded his mind.
When you'd follow him around like a lost puppy and oftentimes you'd cling on his leg. Like when he'd carry you with one hand or ride a piggy back on his back
Anyone ordinary probably could've mistook you for someone else.
Though somehow, he was sure the person he was looking at right now was the little girl that nagged and clinged unto him before.
After much time spent of Bakugou staring, you finally felt eyes on you.
So you decided to peek and momentarily paused from making coffee.
Looking at the mirror that reflected the customers, you widen your eyes in awe seeing a dashing blonde man staring at you with a blank expression.
He had ruby eyes that had your attention for a while.
Until you turned around in a natural way to show a small and kind smile at him.
When he realized he was caught staring, Bakugou blushed and immediately looked away with a flustered expression.
You chuckled at his reaction.
For someone who looked tough, you thought this shy side of him was cute.
The man caught your eye when he arrived the shop with a dominating aura and charming muscular features.
Especially those beautiful eyes.
It felt familiar. He felt familiar.
You realized it when your eyes locked. A spark.
Shrugging it off, you continued your work.
Meanwhile, Bakugou was having a panic attack-again.
'She caught me staring. You fucking idiot. She'll think of you as a pervert. Now how will you try to-'
Bakugou widened his eyes and stopped his train of thoughts there.
He realized that if he were to continue, he'd admit that he wanted to get close to you.
Which made the demon facepalm and hide his red cheeks behind his hand.
"Damn it." Bakugou mumbled.
"Hey bro, you okay?" Kirishima nudged a shoulder to him.
No. He isn't.
He thought your smile was cute. And that's being soft. Which was not okay.
That was until another feminine voice joined in. "Your Majesty!"
Mina appeared out of nowhere wearing the shop's uniform from the staff's room.
Kaminari hushed her. "Call him by his name! We're not in Hell, idiot!"
"I missed you too!" Mina hugged them except Bakugou who kept sending death glares at her.
"It's been so long!" Sero laughed.
The she-demon agreed before sitting down with them. "But I enjoyed my time here. It's so fun and I've accustomed with how it goes around here."
"You're in your human form?" Kirishima spoke.
She nodded. "Ever since Little Miss entered Middle School. Being her bestfriend made it easy to look out for her. But even without the job, I'd still care for her a lot."
That was when Mina noticed Bakugou kept stealing glances once in a while at you making the she-demon laugh.
"Guess our prince still recognize Y/N even after years had passed by." She teased.
Bakugou turned to glare at her. "Fuck off."
"Whoa what? She's here?" Kaminari gasped.
Mina nodded and gestured her head to point at you making them they awed at how mature you became.
"Pinky, nothing happened while I was gone?" The blondie asked, concerned.
She laughed nervously, looking away. "Everything was human normal... I guess including the fact that-"
Until Mina was cut off when one of her colleagues called her.
"Hey Mina! What's their order? Quit slacking around."
The she-demon chuckled and apologized with a scratch behind her neck.
"Anyway, I need an order from you guys or you'll be kicked out." She explains.
"Not if their asses will be kicked out of heaven first." Bakugou scoffs.
Sero sighed. "You don't get to decide that."
Kaminari turned to Mina. "Surprise us with anything then!" To which she nodded in reply.
While they continued to chat, Bakugou suddendly spoke.
"She's leaving." A hint of disappointment tainted his voice.
The group followed his line of sight to see you wear your casual clothes again.
"L/N, you going already?" Mina approached you.
You nodded and showed a grin. "Yeah, I'll head out first. Thank you for taking care of me." You bowed.
"No need to be so grateful for. Instead, I should be thanking you since I asked for help."
Mina giggled before she sealed her lips shut when she realized her mistake.
'Ah, I shouldn't have mentioned that.' She cries to herself as she felt Bakugou glare at her with deadly eyes.
"I'm more than happy to help you again Mina." Your showed a bright smile.
Once you left the shop, the orders for the pack of demons were served.
"So are we just gonna be weird and stare her from afar?" Kaminari pouted at the lack of interaction.
"Yes." The blondie immediately answered without hesitation.
"What? No! We can still approach her, in an average human way!"
While they continued to chatter, Bakugou caught your figure still outside the shop.
It seemed like you were calling someone.
The blondie paid no mind yet continued to blankly stare at you.
His gaze was curious and long, similar to that of a predator watching his prey. The call seemed to last quite a while too.
Until he was startled seeing you end the call in frustration and walked away.
"Yes, but what about if we-"
Kaminari was cut off when Bakugou suddenly stood up.
His subordinates looked up in surprise. So he cleared his throat. "You all, don't follow me."
"Huh? Where are you going?"
He grumbled and simply left. "Just leave me alone."
The others watched him leave, the look of confusion rested on their faces.
Bakugou looked around him. There were differences from the last time he set foot on human ground but the changes were not so different as he thought it'd be.
Until his feet stopped when the noise and sight of children playing and family talking caught his attention.
The park from years ago was still intact.
More flowers bloomed than before and more decorations was placed.
For an unknown reason, Bakugou felt his heart flutter. The feeling of nostalgia almost made him smile.
Looking around, his eyes rested on a familiar vehicle that emitted a symphony that would always bring joy and a smile to children's faces.
Approaching the ice cream truck, the demon noticed a different man working.
Either way he shrugged and ordered the same ice cream he had years back.
His eyes narrowed at the cold delicacy.
Bakugou could never forget the brain freeze he experienced after consuming it fast, it was his biggest regret in his life.
Proceeding with caution, he carefully licked the ice cream.
Tasting it, he nodded and hummed in approval. "Still tastes good as fuck."
After that, he left and went to his next destination.
Walking through the pathway inside the forest, he saw a peculiar squirrel looking at him with a funny look on his furry face.
"What are you looking at fur ball." He spat and moved on.
Until he stopped on his tracks after a few walks.
Going in deeper, his eyes widen in awe.
The glorious castle he once visited was still in place too.
"And here I thought it'd be demolished." He murmured and chuckled.
It was worn down and looked old than before-heck, it seemed like it was dangerous to enter now.
Though he still approached closer and stared at the treehouse.
A couple of moments after, he suddenly spoke.
"Oi lady, I can hear you crying balls there."
The noise of someone sniffling was heard on the other side of the tree from where Bakugou was standing.
Carefully, you peeked and saw a blonde and tall man staring right back at your E/C orbs.
It made you flinch in surprise before hiding again.
The demon chuckled and continued to eat his ice cream.
You looked like a mess. Appearing in front of a handsome man in your state right now would be embarrassing.
"Um hello..." You finally spoke after the deep breaths and sniffs.
"Hey."
Now that you realized it, he had a raspy and deep voice. One that was very much to your liking.
"How long have you been there?" You continued to hide from the other side of the tree.
"Long enough to hear you crying."
In all honesty, he saw you crying long since he saw you in a call with somebody back at the café.
It made him worry so he rushed to find where you are. And with just one guess, he concluded you'd be at the treehouse. Which he was lucky that he was right.
You laughed it off. "Sorry about that."
"Why are you crying?" He continued his ice cream.
"Nothing..." You paused. It wouldn't hurt to tell a stranger, you thought. "Just some jerk and my stupid emotions."
You only heard him hum.
The short and uninterested reply made you seal your lips shut.
It was awkward in the atmosphere so you just stayed silent.
Until you realized it was silent for a while now.
So you decided to steal a glance again and saw no one on the other side of the tree now.
Somewhere deep inside you, you felt disappointed but you shrugged it off.
"Whatever." You mumbled and got up.
So you patted off the dirt and grass off of you and turned, about to leave.
Until you bumped and hit your forehead on a firm surface.
"Ow! What the..." You rubbed a spot on your head.
That was when you widened your eyes in realization.
You stepped back and looked up to see the blonde man standing tall and big in front of you.
His shadow towered over your frame.
"Sit your ass back down." He growled.
You almost jumped in your spot and just nodded, pursing your lips.
So you plopped back at the spot behind the tree, your eyes on your hands that rested on top of your lap.
"Hey doll, here." He crouched to your height.
That was when your look softened when he handed you an ice cream.
"Is this still your favorite?" He looked away, shyly.
The question confused you but you paid no attention.
You gazed at the man for a while before a smile made its way on your face and received the ice cream from him.
There was also another new one on his other hand that seemed to be for him too.
"Thank you, this is my favorite."
"Good." He stood up again.
Then he murmured, "You still talk to strangers dumbass."
You shot him a confused look, an eyebrow upward.
That was when you realized how you looked right now so you turned away.
"I'm sorry, I probably look dumb right now."
"Don't worry about it." He mumbled and petted your head out of habit.
The sudden contact made you stiff and go red.
So you shyly looked up and saw him unfazed. You frowned and turned your gaze back to your ice cream, it seemed like he was used to skin contact.
You noticed him go back to the other side of the treehouse and sat on the ground, his back facing the tree.
"Pretty shitty day, huh?" He spoke from the opposite side.
His actions puzzled you.
But you chuckled in response anyway. You had your fair share with strangers and he was the most aloof one out of all.
Especially since he felt familiar.
"Tell me about it... At least I got free ice cream though." You chirped at the end.
You heard him chuckle making you smile to yourself too.
"When will you leave?" You asked him.
"Until you leave without crying." He answered without hesitation making you blush. "So when will you leave?"
"As soon as I finish my ice cream." You shrugged.
After a while of sharing comfortable silence and eating ice cream, you finally spoke.
"The world is... a very difficult place to live in." You mumbled.
"You want me to destroy it?" He seriously considered the idea.
You laughed. "What? No you can't."
"Oh~ You're testing me?" He cocked a smirk.
You rolled your eyes. "Sure, Mr. Devil."
"Music to my ears."
You smiled. "No devil like you can be this nice to someone like me though."
Bakugou shrugged. "Who says I'm being nice, I'm known for being an asshole."
You laughed in reply.
And even when both ice creams were finished, the interaction didn't stop there.
