CHAPTER 58
~The pathway~
*JUNGKOOK*
~FLASHBACK~
“Jungkook?” Namjoon questioned, holding the phone close to his ear.
“What’s going on?” Jungkook asked, his voice were so dry and husky.
“Where are you?”
“Is that meant to be your problem?” Jungkook asked, rudely.
“Just shut up and answer me…where are you?”
“Home…um, the graveyard. Why?”
“You need to go over to Jimin’s.” Namjoon said, hopping into his car.
“Why?”
“The accomplice isn’t Eva…we saw the wrong photo, Jungkook.”
“Then who is?”
“Lisa.”
He couldn’t breathe…he could say a word….he was completely speechless and confused.
How can Lisa, Minnie’s trusted maid be the accomplice?
How is that even possible?
What did Minnie ever do to her to deserve that betrayal?
Jungkook clenched his fist tightly, glaring at no one in particular.
Or maybe he was glaring at fate who made life so unbearable and unfair for both Minnie and himself.
“Jungkook, are you there?” Namjoon questioned, interrupting his thoughts.
“You think he’s in danger?” Jungkook asked, wondering why Namjoon was asking him to go to Lisa’s house now.
Besides Lisa have been with Jimin all this while and yet nothing happened to him so why was Namjoon acting this way as if he wasn’t safe anymore?
“Maybe. Maybe not. But I don’t think it’s only Lisa that’s the only one there with him.” He said.
“What do you mean?”
“There is another accomplice, tagging along with Lisa.”
“Why do you think that?” Jungkook asked.
Namjoon let out a deep breath. “She knew we were suspecting her. She knew we had our eyes on her…”
“So?”
“She can’t attack Minnie with everyone watching her, Jungkook.”
“So you think she asked someone for help?” Jungkook questioned.
“I know she did.” He sighed. “And we need to figure out just who he/she is.”
Jungkook let out a deep sigh, running his fingers through his hair. “And Minnie?”
“As long as he doesn’t remember anything then he will be fine. But, we just need to figure them out…and most importantly, gather up enough evidence against them.”
“So, what are you suggesting me to do then?”
“Go to the palace…I promise to come around as well.”
“But is all this really going to work? We have never gotten Lisa to confess about her wrongdoings for all this while so how are we going to do it now?”
“Maybe we never got her to confess because we’ve never approached her directly before.” Namjoon stated. “Maybe it’s time we take the bull by the horn. Trust me, it’s going to work out.”
~END OF FLASHBACK~
Choi furrowed his brows a little, staring at Jungkook in complete confusion.
“You seem confused.” Jungkook said with a single brow raised.
“What…are you…try…trying to say?” He stuttered, trembling a little.
“I came prepared, Choi.” He said.
He was going to say a word when someone suddenly hit him from behind, knocking him off his feet.
The gun he was holding fell off his hand and rolled over to Jungkook.
He slowly bent over and picked the gun, his gaze never left him as he kept groaning in pain.
“I told you it was going to work.” Namjoon said, smiling as he approached Choi and pulled him up, handcuffing him.
“Whatever, man.” Jungkook scoffed. “Besides this isn’t Lisa.”
“But at least we’ve figure him out and got him to confess.”
“He didn’t practically confessed.” Jungkook pointed out, rolling his eyes.
“But he helped us a little with a little bit of information.” Soo, Liam and Eva walked towards them.
“You should have told us.” Soo said to Jungkook.
“You were busy with her.” He nodded his head at Eva.
“We will take it from here, man.” Liam said to Namjoon, taking Choi from Namjoon.
“I have to go to Minnie right now. It’s seems like he’s in danger.”
“I’m coming with you.” Namjoon said.
Choi started laughing, surprising everyone in the process. “You all think you’ve won.”
“What?” Namjoon questioned.
Choi tilted his head to the side, smirking. “If I were you, I will go in there to save that prince…but, I’m not you. And I don’t think you will ever be able to save him.” He shrugged. “Who knows, he might be already dead.”

*THIRD PERSON POV*
“You killed the boy’s parents?” Dohwa asked in disbelief, staring at her sister with her eyes wide opened.
“Hey, calm down. Old Dohwa would have done worse.”
Dohwa shook her head. “No. Old Dohwa wouldn’t have shed anyone’s blood. And stop acting like the old me. This is the real you. You are not pretending to be me, Sumi. You are just tired of hiding your real self and that’s why you decided to unleash the dark side of you!”
“Old me wouldn’t have done this if only she wasn’t betrayed by her own sister and her boyfriend!” Sumi said angrily.
“Boyfriend?” Dohwa scoffed. “Eunwoo was never your boyfriend. Yes, you had feelings for him and he had feelings for you also but neither of you confessed your feelings to the other.”

“Isn’t that Eunwoo?” Tessy, one of Dohwa’s friend asked, staring behind Dohwa.
Dohwa slowly turned around and found Eunwoo, her high school crush, chatting and laughing with her sister.
“What is he doing with your sister?” Rita, another one of Dohwa’s friends asked, turning to gaze at her.
“I…I don’t know.” She said in a whisper, still staring at the both of them.
“Didn’t your sister know you have feelings for Eunwoo?” Tessy asked.
Dohwa shook her head, clenching her fist. “We were never close to discuss about stuff like that.”
“Oh. Seems like you have a love rivalry.” Tessy said, laughing.
“And I’m rooting for Sumi.” Rita said, smiling while twirling her hair around her finger.
Dohwa snapped her head to her direction. “Shouldn’t you be supporting me right now?”
“I would have but come on, it’s quite obvious it’s your sister he wants and not you. Tsk, your nerdy sister stole the heart of the playboy.” She shrugged, still smiling.
“You don’t have to say that, Rita.” Tessy said, playful hitting her on the shoulder. “You will hurt our dear little friend.”
“I’m only just stating the truth.”
“The truth is bitter… haven’t you heard of that saying before?” Tessy questioned, raising a questioning brow at her friend, Rita.
“I will change that phrase.” Dohwa said, unclenching her fist and folding her arms over her chest.
“What phrase?” Both Tessy and Rita asked.
“ ‘The nerdy sister stole the heart of the playboy.’ ” She said smirking.

#Present.
“You had feelings for Eunwoo too?” Sumi asked in surprise.
“What? Is it only you that have the right to love?” She scoffed. “I also have right to love, Sumi.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“If I did, what would you have done? Leave him for me? Or show your real self?”
“We would have worked something out.” Sumi replied.
Dohwa shook her head slowly. “We wouldn’t have. Things would have only become more complicated than it already is.”
“What’s more complicated than this?” She questioned.
“You didn’t kill Eunwoo and neither did you kill me. You are still on a safer path.” She said.
“I killed that little boy’s parents.” Sumi pointed out.
“Did you? Or you were only just part of it?” Dohwa asked, raising a questioning brow at her.
Sumi let out a frustrated sigh, running her fingers through her hair. “You are diverting from the main matter…nothing still changes the fact of you going to Eunwoo’s just to seduce him while pretending to be me! You still betrayed me!”
“The story was twisted.” Dohwa stated, grabbing the sandwich from the floor and taking a bite of it.
“What do you mean by that?”
“I didn’t go to his house pretending to be you. I went to his house being myself.”
“What?”

#Past.
“Young lady, who are you looking for?” An elderly woman asked.
Dohwa smiled. “Eunwoo. Is he home?” She asked.
“Uh…who are you?”
“I’m Dohwa. A classmate of Eunwoo.” She replied.
“This is the first time for a female classmate to come over to visit Eunwoo. You must be very special to him.” The woman said. “Did he call you here?”
Dohwa quietly shakes her head. “He didn’t. In fact he doesn’t even know I am here. He has been absent from school for a week now and that’s why I’m here.” She sighed. “Is he in?”
“Yes. But I don’t think it will be best if you in.”
“Why? Is anything the matter?” Dohwa asked a bit worried.
“Eunwoo has been through a lot. I am not in the position to tell you anything but…, I will let you in.” She said calmly, stepping aside for Dohwa to come in. “But promise me that you won’t pressure him into disclosing anything to you.”
“I promise.”
“Fine. He’s in his room, upstairs. The second door to your left side.” She directed.
“Thank you, ma’am.” Dohwa said, smiling. She took some steps but stopped and turned back to the woman. “I’m sorry to ask, but who are you to him?”
“His nanny.” She replied her.
*****
Dohwa knocked quietly against the wooden door then slowly pushed it open.
She walked in but found no one in the room.
She looked around the room, it was messy. It felt like no one was actually staying in the room.
Clothes, books, empty alcoholic bottles were scattered everywhere.
What the hell was going on here? She thought to herself, looking around.
Suddenly, she heard him gagging from inside the bathroom.
She hurriedly dropped her bag on the floor and ran inside, only to find Eunwoo vomiting.
“Oh my God, Eunwoo are you okay?” She appeared at his side and started patting his on his back gently.
*****
“Here, drink this.” She instructed, placing the cup over his mouth. Eunwoo quietly drank the cup of water. “How do you feel now?” She asked, setting the empty cup on the table.
“I’m…fine.” He breaths out.
“Just take a rest while I clean up this mess.” She said, coming up to her feet.
After she was done with everything, she returned back to the bed holding a tray of food.
“Nanny C told me you haven’t eaten a thing.” She said, sitting down beside him. “And shouldn’t you be asleep right now?”
“Nanny C?” Eunwoo repeated quietly.
“C for Cynthia.” She smiled. “Here, I brought food for you.”
He slowly sat upright on the bed, resting his back against the headboard. “I never expected you to come.”
“Why wouldn’t I? You were absent from school for a whole week. That’s enough to make me worried.” She smiled.
Eunwoo grabbed the tray from her and set it on the table away from them and pulled her closer to himself. “Thank you.” He tucked a strand of hair from her face to the back of her ear.
“You don’t have to thank me, Woo. And besides I’m not doing this for just you, I’m doing it for me as well.”
“Why?”
“Why?”
“Why are you doing all this?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” He raised a questioning brow at her. “I like you, Woo.”
He didn’t say anything, he just sat still staring at her directly in the eyes.
“I like you so much.”
His lips stretched into a smile. “I thought you will never say that.” And with that, he smashed his lips against hers, kissing her with everything he got in him.
She was happy.
Her wish, her dream…wait, she wasn’t in a dream, was she?
She wrapped his arms around his neck and started kissing him back.
Nah, this wasn’t a dream.
“I like you too.” He said to her in between kisses.
He pulled her over to his bed and hovered over her, refusing to break the kiss or let go of her.
*****
Dohwa rested her head against his chest, smiling.
She was excited.
Her wish came to reality.
She just had a wonderful sex with the man of her dreams!
And the one Eunwoo like is her and not her sister!
She was dumb to have seen her sister as a competition. Because obviously, Sumi can’t compete with her when it comes to things like this.
“Why are you not asking me?” He asked, touchy with her hair.
“I made a promise.” She said.
“What?”
“I promised nanny C not to pressure you to say anything to me unless you want to.” She told him.
There was a moment of silence until he spoke up, breaking the ice.
“My parents had a divorce.”
“Oh my God.” She exclaimed, looking up at him. “Why? What happened?”
“I don’t know why but I guess…they fell out of love.” He shrugged.
“Oh…”
“Hey, don’t pity me.” He warned.
She let out a deep sigh, sitting up right. “I don’t pity. I just….my parents wants to get divorce as well.”
“What?”
“Shocking, right?”
“I mean, they looked happy to me.” He said.
Dohwa rolled her eyes, laughing. “You don’t even know my parents.”
“Ah, you are right.”
They both started laughing.
“I’m sorry.” Dohwa said after she had stopped laughing.
Eunwoo turned to look at her and shook his head slowly. “You don’t have to apologize. What are you even apologizing for?”
She shrugged. “I don’t know. I just felt the need to say that word to you.” She stated calmly, surprise at herself.
She wasn’t one to say sorry or appreciate someone for something.
That was Sumi’s character not hers.
So what the hell was going on now?
“It’s fine.” He smiled. “How is your sister taking the divorce?”
“My sister? She doesn’t even know. But good news for her, my parents are not willing to give up on her but they are willing to give up on me.” She paused. “I thought my mom would choose me over her but I was wrong…she chose my sister instead.”
“But why? I mean, to me you are quite better than your sister. I’m not trying to compare or anything but I would choose you ten million times over your sister.” He pulled her closer to himself, hugging her. “You are beautiful, nice, kind-hearted, friendly, funny, gentle, peacemaker and most importantly, smart.”
Smart? Her?
She would have been blushing right now if those characteristics were really her.
She was quite opposite from all of those things. The person with those attributes is her sister not her.
“You love your family so much. Especially your sister. You are willing and ready to do anything for her but it’s too bad she doesn’t want that either.” He stroke her head softly. “You don’t need to feel sad or anything, okay? Besides you got me. Isn’t that what’s important?”
“Uh? Ye….yes.” She stuttered, wondering what the hell was going on now.
“You are mine. My Sumi.”
“Sumi?”

#Present.
“He mistook you for me?” Sumi asked quietly.
“Funny, right?” Dohwa sighed. “I was dumbfounded, angry, mad, upset, and hurt. The guy I willing gave my virginity to mistook me for my sister.” She chuckles, sniffing. “I wanted to hate you. I wanted to make you pay but..,” She scoffed. “I might be a spoilt bitch but I’m not a monster.” She run her wet tongue over her dried lips. “I felt guilty. I knew I betrayed you but…I just couldn’t bring myself to admit that fact! Honestly…, I wanted to let go. I wanted to step down. But that’s when I realized I was pregnant for him.” She sighed. “It felt like an opportunity for me to get what I want but I knew deep down, I’m not worth it.”
“Why didn’t you tell me all this?”
“When you figured out that I was pregnant for Eunwoo, you just wouldn’t listen to anyone!” She wiped off her tears. “And, I..
became angry. Mom insulted me, calling me a prostitute because,” She sobbed. “of the pregnancy. She…she started comparing me to you and called me all sort of names. I deserved it.” She paused. “I refused to give up on Eunwoo because I know if I do then mom would make life more miserable for me.” She smiled. “After I got married to Eunwoo, I became indebted to you. I was sorry. Trust me, I never hated you. I was just blinded by jealousy and bitterness. I…just wanted to be more like you. But it was stupid. Stupid to have stole the life that you deserve. I didn’t tell the police about you because, I felt guilty. I made you who you are right now. If there is anyone that should be going to jail then it should be me not you.” She sniffed again, wiping off the tears. “You were just a broken vase who was mishandled by its owner. I broke you and so did mom.” She reached out to Sumi’s hand and held it in between hers. “I deserve everything you are doing to me right now but…Jungkook, the boy and every other person doesn’t deserve it. They are just innocent children who knows nothing!”
Sumi pulled her hand from Dohwa’s grasp, stepping away from her. “You admitted to have seduce Eunwoo using my identity.”
“Yeah. And honestly, I did misled him. He knew you for your good character and fell in love with it. He didn’t fell in love with your face, Sumi. He fell in love with your good heart and pure spirit. Maybe that was how I was able to get him to sleep with me. I did went there with my Identity but…, I didn’t possessed my character. I was a total different person there. I was more like…you.”
“What?”
“I guess the goodness have been in me even before I went to Eunwoo’s house. But I just wanted mom to love me and that’s why I chose to be like her. And that was very stupid of me.” She smiled. “I don’t hate you, Sumi. I don’t.”
“Why are you telling me all this now? Huh? Why now?” Sumi said in annoyance.
“I just want you to stop. Please.”

*JIMIN*
“Let go, you son of a bitch!” Lisa yelled angrily, struggling to stab Jimin’s eyes.
Jimin refused to let go.
They were literally dragging the knife right now.
Jimin was struggling to rip the knife off Lisa’s while Lisa was struggling to stab Jimin’s eyes!
Jimin wasn’t ready to let go without a fight.
He won’t let Lisa get her way for the third time!
He won’t be the naive, stupid, weak Prince.
He was the crown prince of the city and for him to be a qualified one then he have to stand for his damn right and fight!
This is the duty of a crown prince. It’s not just to protect the throne and the people but also to protect himself.
Blood were dripping off Jimin’s hand because of the knife he was holding _he was holding the sharp side_ But still, he refuse to let go!
“LET HIM GO!” A voice said from behind, which made Lisa let go of the knife _the knife fell on the ground in between Jimin and Lisa_ and quietly Lisa turned around to find Namjoon pointing a gun at him while Jungkook was standing beside him.
“Stay away from him right now.” Jungkook warned.
Lisa smirked. “Your prince charming is here.” She said to Jimin. “Tch, he came right on time, disrupting my plans. But anyway, I still…”
BAM!
Lisa groaned in pain, placing her hand over her shoulder. “What the hell have you done!?”
Namjoon raised a single brow at her, smiling. “I will run if I were you.”
She glared at them then turned back to Jimin and pushed him roughly against the wall before running over to the window and jumping off.
Jimin fell against the wall, mistakenly pressing a button behind the huge photo in the process, which made the photo to divide open, causing him to stumble down on the floor inside the pathway.
Jungkook and Namjoon stared at it, with their eyes widened in complete shock.
Jimin groaned in pain coming up to his feet, he quickly went to Namjoon, ignoring the pathway that just appeared and landed a mighty blow on his face, imprinting the mark of his fingers which was stained with his blood on his face.
“How dare you let her escape!?” He yelled at the top of his voice, glaring hard at him.
