CHAPTER 29

It was impossible for the blind to see but it felt like he had seen those beautiful eyes~

*JIMIN*

“I’m so excited. You are finally coming back to the palace.” Lisa said excitedly.

“Hmm.” Jimin hummed looking down at the ground.

He should be happy, right?

Every patient in this hospital will be very excited to discover that they are getting discharged but why wasn’t he?

Why was his own case different?

Why was he rather unhappy about the news?

Well, it’s obvious.

His aunt is gone and the palace would never be the same without her presence.

Honestly the palace will only be a reminder about her and he hates it. He hates to acknowledge the fact that his aunt was gone.

Why can’t life be a little fair for him?

Jimin let out a deep breath and quickly wiped off the tears that just ran down to his face.

He doesn’t want to cry. Crying are meant for the weak… he wasn’t weak. But even at that, he still can’t stop himself from crying.

“Why are you crying, my prince?”

He sniffed. “I’m not crying.” His lie would have gone through if only his voice was not husky.

Lisa came to sit beside him and pulled him into a side hug. “My prince, you don’t have to cry. You should be happy instead… I mean, you are getting discharged.”

“I know.” Jimin sniffed again. “But I miss her. I don’t think I will be able to live in that palace without thinking of her.” He sighed, pulling away from the embrace, he stood up to his feet and went closer to the window. “The palace won’t remain the same without her, you know.”

Lisa stood up to her feet as well and walked closer to Jimin. “We miss her too, my prince but with or without her, life goes on.” She patted Jimin on his back. “I’m sure she wants you to be happy as well and move on with your life.”

“Gosh.” Jimin wiped off his tears then turned to stare at Lisa. “Let’s go.”

They both walked out of the ward, they were walking towards the open entrance when they bumped into doctor Woong.

“My prince.” Doctor Woong bowed his head in respect before looking back up at Jimin. “How does it feel like to get discharged?”

Jimin shrugged his shoulders. “Should I feel anything special?” He asked rudely.

“I_” He was a bit taken aback with his response _like come on, he was the nicest prince and hearing him sound this rude was quite a surprise, even to Lisa_

“Do I sound rude?” He asked him.

“I… no.” He replied looking away from him.

“Good.” He brushed past him and walked away alongside Lisa and two guards.

He knew he was rude but hey, fuck him. If only he opens up and tell him everything he knows, maybe things wouldn’t been this complicated like they are right now.

Jimin, Lisa and the two guards got to the car parked in the parking lot but Jimin didn’t get in even when the door was already opened for him.

“My prince,” Lisa nodded to the open door.

“I’m not going home.” He announced.

“Why not? Do you feel sick or something?” Lisa asked worriedly.

He shook his head. “I’m fine. I just need to go to the cemetery.” He said.

“I’m coming with you.” Lisa said to him.

“No. You can’t come with me. I want to_”

“Hi.” A voice interrupted from behind. They all turned around to find detective Namjoon staring at them with a smile on his face _more like staring at their prince_

“What are you doing here?” Jimin asked, with a questioning brow raised.

“I heard you were getting discharged today.” He said.

“Lisa.” Jimin said through gritted teeth, turning to glare at his personal maid.

“I’m so sorry, my prince.” The poor maiden apologized.

Jimin let out a sigh before turning back to Namjoon. “You don’t have to come see me off.”

“I didn’t come to see you off.” He said. “I’m here to have an important discussion with you. Hope you don’t mind?”

“Listen, I have something very important to do right now. So I would suggest you return when I’m less busy.” He told him.

“I need to discuss something with you regarding your aunt’s case.” He said.

Jimin stared at him for a while to see whether there was any sign of lie but there wasn’t. “Let’s go. Did you bring your car?”

“Yeah.”

“Alright then.” He turned to Lisa. “You all can go back to the palace, I will be fine with him.” He said to both his personal maid and the guards.

“Are you sure you will be fine without us, my prince.”

“Don’t worry I will keep him safe.” Namjoon assured them with a gentle smile on his face.

Neither of them said a word throughout the ride. Jimin was fine with that.

He just stared at every place they pass and enjoy the view of it.

Truth be told, he likes the fact that he could see again.

Will it be selfish of him to think that?

His aunt died and here he is enjoying her eyes… he felt guilty. Guilty of something he didn’t even do.

Jimin sighed, looking down at his lap. He was scared. What if he don’t find the murderer who murdered both his aunt and parents? What if they come for him too?

But come to think of it, what missing self does he need to look for?

Why didn’t his aunt tell him about that?

Why did his aunt kept things away from him?

Why didn’t she confide in him and tell him everything that he needs to know?

Why did his aunt made him look stupid?

He won’t even be able to differ who the enemy is.

He was like a lost puppy in the middle of the night.

“We are here.” Namjoon announced, bringing the car to halt in front of an open gate that leads to the graveyard.

Jimin didn’t make any attempt to get out of the car. He just sat there and stared ahead of the open gate as if in search of that particular tombstone from the distance.

He was afraid to go in.

He was afraid to even face his aunt’s tombstone.

He was afraid to act like everything was fine when in reality they weren’t.

He was afraid to tell his aunt how sorry he was for saying those mean things he said to her that night.

He was afraid to tell her goodbye.

When his parents died, he was just eight years of age, he didn’t know anything at then but he knew deep down he’d lost two people special.

He cried.

He starve.

He even almost stopped dancing.

He was lost.

He thought he would remain like that for the rest of his life _lost_ but his aunt found him.

Most people thought it was ballet that brought him back to life but it wasn’t. It was his precious aunt.

She gave him the love he thought he lost.

When he cries, his aunt will wipe away his tears, and sometimes she cries with him and other times she try telling a joke to make him smile.

When he starve, his aunt will starve herself as well, sometimes she brings in food for him and other times she prepare the food herself just to feed him and make sure that he eats.

When he thought he was lost…his aunt found him.

His aunt was like a ballet… without ballet he can’t live, that goes to his aunt as well, without her aunt he was like a lost puppy.

Will he ever be able to find himself again?

“Prince Jimin ?” Namjoon called out to him but he didn’t answer.

He was so lost in his thought.

“Jimin.” Namjoon called out again, tapping him on his shoulder.

He jerked up, coming back to earth. He snapped his head to look at him, his eyes were filled with unshed tears.

“Are you okay?” Namjoon asked him now.

“Should I be?” He fired back, frowning at him.

“You don’t have to go in if you don’t want to.” Namjoon told him, ignoring his earlier rude remark.

Jimin sniffed, looking back at the open gate. It took him five minutes to reply him. “I want to,” His voice were husky. “But I can’t.” He admitted.

“Why?”

“I don’t know…” He looks back at him, the tears he have been trying so hard to hold were already flowing down. “Maybe I feel guilty.”

“Of what?”

“Of everything.” He sniffed again. “She never enjoyed her youthful life and that’s all because of me.” He cried. “She never had the time to date anyone, hang out with friends, enjoy life like every normal lady would,” He paused. “She treated me like a son, she sold her life just for me. And now…” He gulped down hard. “She gave up her eyes just for me.” He sobbed uncontrollably. “Am *sobs* I *sobs* worth *sobs* it?” He wasn’t asking him but he wish Namjoon could provide him with the answer that he needed.

Namjoon couldn’t say a word. He just stared at him, pitifully and damn, Jimin hated it whenever people give him that look.

He was going to say a word but Jimin beat him to it and said. “You don’t have to answer that.” He wiped off his tears and got down from the car.

Jimin slowly walked inside the silent graveyard, his legs were shaky, his hands were shivering, his face were pale, his lips were trembling… in other word, he was a complete mess.

Finally, he got to the graveyard he have been so afraid of.

MAMA HWASA,
A WONDERFUL AUNT, A GOOD SISTER AND A BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER. MAY HER GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Jimin trailed his fingertip against the scribbled letters and started crying all over again.

He miss her like crazy.

He wish he could see her again even if it was for the last time.

Why was death so unfair?

Why does the good ones have to die first?

Why not the bad ones?

He’s sure all of these people buried in this graveyard were good people.

“I’m sorry.” That was the only word that could leave his mouth as he kept crying while leaning on the huge tombstone.

****

Jimin sat on the ground and was staring at the tombstone.

He wasn’t crying.

He was just staring.

No words left his lips but inside him he was saying a lot to his aunt.

Like the saying goes; For you to connect to the dead, you have to speak to them through your heart.

~FLASHBACK~

*Why is it that whenever we visit mum and dad, you don't say anything to them?* Sixteen years old Jimin asked his aunt as they walked out of the graveyard.

*I've said a lot to them.* Hwasa replied with a smile.

*I didn't hear you say anything.*

*Well, you wouldn't be able to because I spoke through my heart.*

*What? How is that possible?*

*Of course, having you heard the saying, if you want to connect to the dead, you have to speak to them them through your heart.*

*Is that even possible?*

*Yes, it is dear. But,* She stopped walking and turned to Jimin. *If I die, I want you to always dance for methat way, I will be able to have a peaceful life in my afterlife.*

*Don't speak about death, aunt. Because you aren't going to die. Not now, not ever.*

*Death is inevitable, sweetie. It's a price all humanity must pay for the life they live, the air they breath*

*Yes, it is. But you are not going to die now until I make you proud.*

*Whenever I die, I want you to always know that I'm proud of you no matter what.*

~END OF FLASHBACK~

Jimin started dancing right in front of his aunt’s tombstone and other tombstone.

He twirled with his hands in the air, he raised one leg up and started turning, he started hopping from one toe to the other, dancing.

Tears kept screaming down to his face as he danced.

*Do you know what I love about your dance moves?* his aunt question rang in his head as he danced.

*What?* He had asked her.

*Your smile.*

*My smile?*

*Yes. You always look happy whenever you dance.* She answered, smiling as well. *Your smile is what makes your dance beautiful.*

Jimin started smiling as he danced. He pirouette then lifted his leg off the ground, his legs were extended while his hands were in the air, slowly he came down right in front of someone.

He wasn’t dead, he was rather very much alive. His eyes were perfect but they look sad. He wasn’t smiling but the look he was giving him felt like he was trying to remember him.

Jimin felt trapped.

His eyes captivated him.

It was impossible for the blind to see but it felt like he had seen those beautiful eyes before while he was blind.

Crazy, right?

He hasn’t stopped smiling, his hands were still on the air… he was still in the very same dancing position but the different here was, he was standing in front of a Greek god.

Who would believe that someone have been watching him as he danced?

Who would believe he have been here all this time?

Definitely not him(Jimin).

The Greek god slowly raised his hand up and stroked his face, Jimin's heart skipped a beat. The wind were very strong that it kept bringing Jimin's hair to his face, the Greek god in font of him helped him push the hair to the back of his ear.

“We meet again.”

His voice…

They sound so familiar.

Suddenly, his head dropped on his (Jimin) shoulder and he fell unconscious.
