Kitty had informed us that the Reanimation jutsu had been released and now everyone was told to head for the front lines. We all ran in a group following Kitty and a few other captains. I wasn't sure how I was going to be of any help with my chakra being depleted along with everyone else in the group. Just as we arrived, Naruto was talking to the men standing on top of what I believe was the ten tails. It was massive with a lone sharingan eye with many tomoes surrounding the pupils. The men were obviously Uchiha and the one of the right was no doubt Madara Uchiha.

Suddenly, many cloud ninja ran forward producing lightning to blind the enemy. More shinobi came forward blowing the dust that had risen towards the men blocking out their senses. The ground began to shake as Earth users slammed their hands to the ground making the ground beneath the Ten Tails slide down a few miles below ground trapping it.

Shinobi from the Hidden Stone used lava style to pour down the newly formed hole followed by the Mist's water jutsu producing cement and lastly, the Leaf used a fire jutsu to dry it immobilizing the beast.

I felt useless as I watched Naruto form his Rasengan jumping down along with the rest of the shinobi. "Allied Shinobi Forces Jutsu!" He shouted as he got closer to the beast.

They all attacked the enemy but the Beast had broken free making everyone fly back. It rose from the ground looking much skinnier than before.

I turned to Hikaru who was also out of the loop. "Seems like we're not part of the plan," I commented.

"Looks like it, I don't have the chakra anyway. Let them handle it until we recover."

I only nodded in response and looked up at the beast who was standing on its two legs. "That thing is pretty ugly." I sneered showing a face of disgust.

It then opened its mouth forming a red ball aiming it towards us. An Earth user made the ground rise under it's foot making it miss us. The explosion in the distance was enormous making me glad we didn't get hit by it. Another bomb formed in its mouth and as it shot, the beast fell backwards only to form two more bombs. Once it got to its feet, another one was forming. Everyone watched as the bomb shot into the air heading far away. They all looked concerned but I was confused onto why.

When the explosion hit, I could hear some cries from a few shinobi but they quickly had stern looks replacing their sad ones.

"Wha..What just happened?" Naruto stammered unsure of what he just saw. Neji jumped next to him trying to make Naruto focus. "I'm asking what happened to Shikaku and Inoichi?!" The blonde shouted.

Before Neji could answer, the beast extended his arm towards us, well mostly me, sliding it across the ground so we all jumped out of the way. Neji and his uncle were able to use their clan technique to deflect the hand.

"Don't just stand there spacing out, Naruto!" Hizashi shouted. "This is a battlefield and we're in a war. People will die! But if we are defeated and lose this war, everyone will die!"

His words dwelled in my mind. I honestly didn't know how I felt about this war. I looked around at everyone seeing how they all banded together, setting their differences aside just to save their loved ones from dying. "I wouldn't really mind dying right now, I don't have much to live for. After this I'll be sent to jail; this might be how I go out anyway." My gaze shifted to Hikaru who was watching the battle. "He was concerned about my life force when he showed up. I might be dead within hours by now."

The Ten Tails raised its many hands. "Wood Style, Cutting Sprigs!" The Uchiha with short hair exclaimed. Spikes emerged from the palms making my eyes widen. I gasped in terror as they shot down at us.

"No! I take that back!" I shouted as I weaved hand signs. "I don't want to die yet. Ninja art, needle jizo!" My spiked hair draped down my body honestly taking much more effort since my hair was shorter.

I could hear the spikes piercing through the shinobi surrounding me making them drop dead to the ground. I flinched every time I felt a spike hit my hardened hair. My chakra was starting to drain but the spikes kept coming down on us. I then heard wind then wood breaking.

"Thanks Neji, I can activate Sage Mode now!" I heard Naruto exclaimed.

I dispelled my jutsu and watched as Naruto destroyed the spikes and hit the hands that produced them.

"I must say, I didn't think he'd amount to anything but now he's more useful than me."

I looked over to see Hikaru unscathed then searched for Kitty who was nowhere to be seen. Panic washed over me as I looked at the fallen bodies hoping none were him and thankfully I didn't see him. The fallen hand started to move again continuing to slide against the Earth towards us. Hizashi jumped in front of it shooting air towards the hand but it only knocked it back.

Spikes started to emerge from one of the fingers, heading straight towards us; mainly Naruto. I watched as Hinata went to protect Naruto but Neji jumped in front of them. I gasped when the spikes pierced his flesh making Naruto and Hinata face him.

"Earth Style! Mountain Justu!" Someone shouted creating the Earth to capture the Ten Tails.

"Medical Team! Hurry! We have an emergency!" Naruto shouted as he held Neji's body.

I watched as he died in Naruto's arms making me feel like I did when Father died. I barely knew Neji but maybe in another life, we could've been friends. Things could've been different if I stayed in the Leaf.

"Didn't you say you wouldn't let your friends die?" The short haired one shouted as the Ten Tails struggled to get out. "Naruto! Those words... 'I'll never let my comrades die.' Now look around you and say it again!" Naurto was silent still processing the death of his friend. "I told you to say it again! As the bodies of your comrades grow cold in your arms take in their deaths! This will continue and your flippant words and ideology shall become lies. This is the end result of hope and ideals. This is reality!"

"What is there for you in this reality? Your Mother and Father are gone, same with Jiraiya and if you keep standing against us, you will continue to lose your friends one by one. This shall become a world where no one who acknowledges you will exist. The only thing that waits you is your worst nightmare, which you know quite well! Loneliness! Why must you cling to reality? Enough of this, now come join us Naruto!"

"Do they even know Naruto? He'd never join them," I thought as I watched Hinata slap his cheek.

She gave him a whole speech reminding him of who he was and the importance of comrades and loved ones making me look towards Hikaru and eventually Kitty who was with Temari on the other side of the battlefield. I smiled a bit at Kitty. "I guess I do have something to live for."

The Tailed Beast started to wrap its arms around itself as the bomb was being created again. Suddenly, Sai come flying in with a man from the cloud village. As I looked closer, I froze. He jumped off the bird suddenly transforming into his tailed beast form. "Fuck is that Bee? He better not notice me."

He shot his own bomb into the Beast's mouth making it go off in its stomach. The Jinchuuriki fell to the ground creating a crater. I felt something on my leg making me look down to see a snake. It was carrying something in its mouth; my necklace. I smiled and bent down grabbing it then pet the snake.

"Thank you Bo," I placed it around my neck finally feeling complete. "Who sent you?"

"Lord Orochimaru," he answered making my heart stop.

"H-he's alive?" I spoke with shock. I couldn't comprehend what Bo just said. "How was he alive? I saw Itachi kill him permanently."

"Yes ma'am, seems weaker though. He said he'll see you soon."

"He'll see me soon? What will happen? How will he react to seeing me?" I had mixed feelings about this. I didn't know how Father would react to this war. Would he side with the Uchiha? "No, he doesn't work with anyone; there's nothing in it for him. He might take advantage of the situation and destroy the Leaf again or pick up the many dead bodies from the battlefield experimenting on them. What will he do when this war is over? He can obviously escape because no one knows he's alive but will he want me with him again? Will he free me from jail making me his tool once again?"

Naruto suddenly was surrounded by fire like cloak; the nine tails cloak. "Hm, so he can control it now?" I thought as he held onto Hinata's hand making a red coating surround her.

"Shadow clone jutsu!" Naruto shouted creating three clones. They scattered starting to tap everyone giving them his chakra including me. When he tapped my hand, he gave me a smile making me return one.

His chakra overwhelmed me making my body tremble at first. My chakra had been completely returned within seconds. I looked at my hands seeing the chakra cloak surround them then looked at my necklace.

"Hm, this could be useful in the future." I thought as I made a hand signs. "Who knows how much chakra Kabuto used." I touched the necklace sealing a little bit of the nine tails chakra in it for safekeeping.

The Beast started to move again heading for Hinata who deflected it with a blast five times stronger than she normally did before. More arms came towards us so Team 10 sprang into action. They managed to immobilize the beast.

"Let me share a little something with you. It's those connections that made me what I am today! You ought to know that bonds can be powerful curses too!" The other Uchiha shouted which made me feel angry.

"Naruto," Kakashi started. "I was the one who once told you, I'll never let my comrades die. Those words are also an admonition aimed at myself. I haven't been able to save many comrades. Which is why I keep telling myself this time, I will protect them. But then, I end up having to face the fact that I couldn't once more. I'll be confronting those wounds...for the rest of my life."

"But that's why we're ninja. We are those who endure. They'll never let you forget. But it's those wounds that prove your comrades live on inside here. Your friends are still alive in here. Friends that you create inside a dream, so you can't get hurt, aren't real."

"Wait, did he just say inside a dream? Is this what this war is about? Putting everyone in a dream like state? Where....anything is possible? That doesn't sound so bad. It'll be better than spending the rest of my life in jail."

"That means you're just erasing your real friends!" Naruto continued. "Curse or not, I want to keep the real Neji right here." He shouted placing his fist to his heart.

The beast started to break free once more so the Eight Tails blasted another bomb at it while everyone attacked as well. I took my sword from my sheath pouring chakra into my blade. "Slicing Blade!" I shouted as my power was amplified able to cut each of the arms.

Everyone followed Naruto and ran towards the Beast until we were faced against the two Uchiha. I activated my eyes able to see Madara and Obito about to perform a fire jutsu so I made my own.

"Fire style: Majestic Flower Flame!" Madara and I both shouted while Obito made his own.

Their fire came towards us but I was confident in my jutsu to counter both of theirs. Fire style was the first nature I learned and made sure to master, with Naruto's chakra, it should be at a whole new level. Everyone jumped back as our jutsu collided eventually canceling each other out.

"Tsk, what a nuisance. I should've killed you when I had the chance." The smaller one said making me realize who he was.

"Tobi? How did I not see it before?" I questioned feeling dumb for not realizing it.

Madara activated his Susanoo throwing what looked like shuriken while Tobi summoned kunai from his sharingan. Naruto manipulated his chakra so the cloaks around us would deflect the weapons. Once the attacks stopped, everyone looked around for the enemy but they had disappeared.

"Naruto! Above you!" I shouted when I saw he was about to emerge from above Naruto.

Naruto jumped out of the way avoiding Tobi's punch.

"Why does he look so familiar? I know I've seen him before." I thought as I stared at Tobi as he attacked Naruto. "This may be messed up but I'm glad he's focused on Naruto now instead of me. He must pose more of a threat now."

"Naruto, you're only fighting defensively now, trying to protect everyone. Is there any meaning to all of this?"

"Dude, do you ever shut up? We don't fucking care about you, your ideals and how you turned psycho over losing a comrade. It's fucking life and you move the fuck on!" I shouted sick of hearing his speeches.

I ran towards him as did the surrounding shinobi but he disappeared then reappeared on the rock above us. Before he could speak again, I went for a kick but I slipped right through him. When I landed, I swung my leg around but he caught it. He only gave me a smug smirk and I gave him one in return. In an instant, my leg was on fire burning his hand making him curse and let me go.

The Ten Tails started to screech catching everyone's attention as it broke free. It screeched loudly making me put my hands over my ears. The sound pierced my eardrums reminding me of Father's follows during the Chuunin exams.

"How do we beat this thing?"
