The realisation dawned in
"I will be right there" Anika said huffing walking around the room with a towel over her shoulder and her toothbrush inside her mouth, she talked moving in circular motions around the bed constantly wiping the non-existing sweat bead while all Shivaay did at the moment was to stare at his beautiful mess with only one thought in his mind 'Chicken with no head' . Yeah! She was acting like those. He chuckled softly imagining her to be a chicken with feathers and a beak feeding on grains but couldn't control his laughter only to recieve a hard glare from his chicken, I mean chick. He started laughing again ignorant to the fact that he was receiving one of the most deadliest glare of history one has ever recieved. He was angry with her, of course, of what she thought, so anything regarding her shouldn't bother him, well according to him and maybe this mental calculation is providing Shivaay with the strength and courage that is required to stay concious at that moment.
"Yeah...Hmm...He's here" Shivaay tried eavesdropping her conversation as she moved to the furthest corner talking in smallest of her voice. No, he wasn't invading her privacy but she was mentioning him, he thought and that made him curious. Well, resentment --- scratch that --- fake resentment can be kept aside for a moment.
"No, it's okay. Yeah...You sure? Okay then, we would be there" Anika said jumping as she turned around only to see Shivaay sitting at the edge of the bed in a compromising pose, umm a comprising pose for a girl? 'oh! So my baby was eavesdropping' Anika thought as she laughed mentally watching him sitting posing like a model, female model, while Shivaay looked at her but everywhere noticing the way he was actually sitted right then. He couldn't remember when he moved to the edge in an attempt to listen to her talks and now he couldn't even move because according to him she would think that he was eavesdropping her if he moved even an inch, as if she doesn't know what's going in his mind. "What?" Shivaay said faking irritation watching her oggle him trying to suppress her smile. "What?" She repeated faking innocence. "Whatever!" He faked ignorance while she faked confusion upon repeating the same. Both at the moment was faking their emotions unaware to the fact that their eyes were like a mirror to each other, no matter how much they tried their eyes would always convey the real emotion, the truth to each other unknowingly, just a glance and they would know what's going on in each other's mind. Stupid hoomans . Love really changes you for good, spoils you worse and fools you the best. It's complicated.
"I love you Angel" He smiled to himself as he watched her moving to the washroom, whispering the words that his heart already knows and has accepted but it was his brain that was making things complicated. Really? Guess the heart is at fault too.
"Did you said something?" Anika turned around in a jiffy with eyes open wide making Shivaay stutter a 'no'. ''Was I too loud?'' He asked himself once her saw her disappear behind the door. "Why did I said that?" He gasped as her realised of what he just said. "How did she even heard it?" He grew concious of his surroundings as he started chanting hyms of all the Gods known to him. Umm...his over thinking, over imaginations brain, but what so ever he was happy that atleast he heard what she was talking about on the phone. "Were they going somewhere?" He questioned himself scratching his head.
***
Many things had changed between them since they first met. He was no longer that eccedentesiast who concealed his pain under his smile. She was no longer that depressed soul booking night trains for a reason. Meeting each other changed their lives more than they ever thought. A boy shoud be the dominating one in a relationship, of what he heard since childhood, the key to a successful marriage but what he never knew was equality is the key to a successful marriage. In order to experience a happy married life, give your partner the same amount of respect, trust, loyalty you want yourself to get showered with while love has no limits. He was grateful he didn't realised this thing the hard way, equality between them came naturally despite his childhood teachings. He was so content with his life now as he has never been. She changed him and his life for good. He was the missing smile in her life while she was his whole life. He realised he would lose anything just to see a smile on her face and would never let her go even if it cost him his life. Isn't this what love is all about? He smile to himself as the realisation dawned in.
Love? Was he in love? Was he freaking in love? Was he really freaking in love? Was he really freaking fucking in love? He wanted to shout to the world, dance and sing. Life right now seemed like a bollywood movie. He could hear the birds tweeting a love song, the frogs croaking as melodious as a harp, the moon seemed a bit larger than usual and the stars smiled with him. Everything was just so perfect at the moment, he was in love. He was in love with the only woman in his life. He was in love with his wife. He wanted to hug her so tight to strangle her at the moment Damn! He loved his Anika. He loved his Angel more than a friend.
He never knew this would be so beautiful. He knew her loved Anika as a friend and would do anything for her but now the new emotion that filled into his heart was just so serene and peaceful. He couldn't believe. He wanted to scream to the world, sing with the night, laugh with the stars. Every breeze of air that touched his body at that moment reminded him of her touch. The radiance of the moon seemed less bright than her smile. The peace of the night was nothing compared to the peace he felt with her. He wanted to confess to her right at the moment of how much he loved her but yearned to do so at the moment. No, he couldn't make this less special and boring. She was special and everything damn thing related to her needs to be special. He cannot spoil this moment by his blant confession. He needs to surprise her, he needs to make her feel special, he needs her.
He smiled tracing her forehead with a smile constantly playing on his lips. He loved her. He didn't realised when drops of tears started flowing down his eyes drop by drop. This feeling was out of the world. He felt complete as a man. He didn't wanted anything else. Soon his tears changed into loud sobs that woke Anika. She was terrified watching him cry in the middle of the night sitting beside her. She sat on the bed in a swift moment and buried his head in her chest caressing it just like a mother does when her child gets a nightmare.
"Shivaay..Baby...What happened?" She sobbed along with him. His tears broke her heart into zillion pieces. She was living a nightmare. She kept him as close to her as possible while continuosly showering kisses on his forehead. He won't answer anything but continue sobbing hugging her by her stomach hiding his face in he chest, crying for the first time felt so good, so peacekeeping, so relaxing.
"Angel, I want to sleep" Shivaay said as he comfortably laid himself beside her wanting to get some sleep, a peaceful sleep to which Anika agreed nevertheless not wanting to force him into saying anything which maybe he wasn't comfortable with at the moment. He patted him to sleep not before showering lots of kisses on his face.
