Chapter 3
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!" You sat up abruptly, only to fall back onto your pillow, clutching your head.
"Owww," you groaned, your forehead throbbing. Hiro, who had been leaning over your bed, stumbled back.
"Geez (Y/N), you're impossible to wake up!" You rubbed your eyes, looking around.
"Where's Baymax when you need him?" Hiro chuckled.
"It's time to get up, we have school today remember?" You jumped out of bed, scrambling for your suitcase.
"I completely forgot!" You pulled out a pair of jeans and a tee-shirt, standing up. "Hiro, turn around!"
"What? (Y/N)-"
"Just turn around!" You hissed. He jumped a little, turning around. You quickly pulled off you tank top and pajama bottoms, throwing on the clothing you had picked out. "Okay Hiro, you're good." Hiro turned around hesitantly, looking flustered. "Come on. let's go!" You tied your hair up (if you don't have long hair, just ignore that comment) and grabbed your bag, dashing out the door and completely missing Hiro's red face. "Hey aunt Cass!" You called, walking into the kitchen, snatching your black sweatshirt off a nearby chair.
"Hey (Y/N)! Is Hiro coming?"
"He's on his way!" You told her, stopping in the doorway and shrugging your sweatshirt on.
"(Y/N), wait for me!" Hiro exclaimed, running down the stairs and coming to a halt next to you. Cass chuckled.
"You two ready?" She handed each of you a piece of toast, opening the door for you. "Have a good day!" She called, waving. You smiled in response, taking a bite of your toast.
"You nervous?" Hiro asked you as you walked.
"Yeah, a little," you admitted, swallowing.
"Well, don't be. Everyone there is really nice, and I'm sure you'll love it!"
"Thanks Hiro."
The town was extremely busy so early in the morning, and you recoiled as the cold blast of air hit you. The walk seemed to take forever, but, eventually, you could see the top of the huge, glass building that made up the school. "Whoa," you breathed, staring up at it.
"I know right?" Hiro lead you through the double doors, and a wave of heat crashed over you.
"Ahh, that feels nice!"
"Hiro! You're here!" A girl with honey-blonde hair came running up to you. "And who's this?" She was tall, and you had to stare up at her to get a good look at her face. She was smiling sweetly down at you. "Hello. I'm Honey Lemon," she introduced herself excitedly. "Are you the new student I've heard so much about?"
"Yes, I am. It's my first day!" You told her, gripping your backpack strap tighter. She nodded.
"I bet you'll want to meet the rest of the team?"
"Yeah, sure." You followed her and Hiro down the hall, soon getting lost after twisting and turning so many times you lost count.
"It'll get easier to find your way around." Honey Lemon explained, stopping outside a tinted door. Hiro pushed it open, and urged you inside. The room was big, with all kinds of unidentifiable pieces of metal and tools scattered over workbenches. All around, people chattered happily to each other, tinkering with robots and machines of all kinds.
"Hey guys!" Hiro called to a group of teens sitting lazily around a table. They turned to look at you as you approached. You waved at them, taking a seat next to Hiro at the table. "This is the new student joining us today, (Y/N)." He told them.
"Hey (Y/N), nice to meet you." The girl sitting across from you said. She was slowly chewing a piece of bubble gum, her rebel attitude matching her short, purple and black hair. "The name's Gogo." When she saw your expression falter, she rolled her eyes. "This here is Wasabi." She gestured to a muscular, dark man sitting next to her. He looked irritated.
"You spill wasabi on your shirt on time..." He muttered darkly, taking a sip out of the coffee cup he was holding.
"Next here is Fred, he's in charge of all the nicknames around here." Gogo pointed a boy, around sixteen or so, fast asleep in a plump, red chair. "He's nothing special, just kind of hangs around here." She popped a large, pink bubble, continuing to chew her gum. "And you already know Honey Lemon and Hiro?"
"Yea," was all you could manage, staring around in wonder.
"So, what's your specialty?" Wasabi asked you, and you looked at him.
"Oh, science I guess. I don't really have any... hobbies like robotics or anything cool like that..." You trailed off, not knowing how to continue.
"I see, but you already graduated high school right?"
"Yes, at thirteen."
"Ah, just like Hiro huh?" He looked amused.
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Okay (Y/N)." Hiro set a hand on your shoulder. "I'll show you to your work station. You bring your blueprints?"
