Chapter 23

You shrank back a little at the sound of his voice. His voice. The man you met on that night. The one who had convinced Hiro that his brother was still alive, and then cruelly ripped that away from him. All he had left, all the respect he had for his brother. And now, he was back, and you it took all your self control not to run up and strangle him on the spot.
You felt Hiro stiffen beside you, and you moved to hold his hand. He laced his cold fingers with yours immediately, and stepped forward, pulling you with him.
"It's you," Hiro's voice echoed down the extent of the room, playing off the empty walls and then bouncing off the celling.
"Yes... so it seems." The man now stood in full view, setting a darker tone to the otherwise sun-filled room.
"Sir.." Asia stepped back. "I-I didn't know you would try and kill my sister, that wasn't part of the deal!" The man chuckled darkly.
"Yes, well, I'm quite changeable." Asia glared at him, talking a step back.
        "Y-you traitor!"
"Why would you try to kill us?" Hiro piped up.
"Why do you need to know?" The man shot back. Hiro just glared at him. "I suggest you back down little boy. You're not a hero, so stop acting like one!" Hiro looked taken aback, and he glanced back at you, and you gave him a reassuring nod.
"But I'm not alone!" He yelled back confidently, and snapped his fingers. There was a moment of silence, before a loud crash sounded, and one of the few windows still in tact fell out of it's frame, landing with a thud. The man's head snapped around, searching for the source of the sound, and you saw a flash of yellow, before the man yelped in pain. GoGo came to a halt in front of you, sending a gust of wind in your direction.
"Hey guys, looks like I got here just in time," she smirked.
"I'm here!" A voice shouted. A large figure bust though a window, shattering it into a million tiny pieces.
"Fred!" You exclaimed, recognizing the green monster suit he wore.
"Fred! Wait for me!" you unmistakably heard Wasabi's voice sound from outside, and a second later, he had burned a hole right through the brick of the building.
"Where's-" You stopped mid-sentence as a large, red blob landed inches from your face.
"Incoming!" Honey Lemon landed on it, bouncing off, and neatly landing on her feet.
"Honey!" You couldn't help but laugh.
The man froze for a minute.
"Just give up!' Hiro called, now that his friends were assembled behind him, he spoke with a new found confidence. However, under all the circumstances, the man only chuckled.
"Well, well, aren't you brave now with all your little friends with you?" Hiro glared at him.
"You're one to talk. It's seven against one." Hiro glanced at Asia, his expression faltering slightly. She only backed up by your dad, not saying anything. She had apparently untied your father, who was now standing in front of her protectively, forgetting that she had captured at interrogated him.
The man reached for something in the folds of his coat, pulling out a small, black object. A gun. You were now having second thoughts about attacking. He had a gun. You'd never seen a real gun, let alone been threatened with one. With one swift move, the man swooped down faster then you'd ever seen him move, snatched you up, and threw you high onto a railing, following quickly. He then aimed his gun at my head.
"I'd think twice if I were you," he spat at Hiro. Hiro looked worried now. "If anyone so much as moves a step out of place, the girl dies."
"Who are you?" Hiro yelled at him.
        "Your worst nightmare."
