I stared at him in shock. Did he seriously just say that?

No, he didn't.

I just stared at him witn my mouth wide open and he appeared to be very worried as he glanced back.

"What?" I asked him, wanting him to repeat it just so I know I heard him right.

"Forget I said anything." He blushed.

"No, say it again." I demanded and he looked up with hopeful eyes.

"I love you." He said, more confidently than the first time. "You don't have to respond if you're not ready." He shyly said.

"I love you too." I replied and his face lit up and he suddenly looked happier than I can even put into words. I smashed my lips against his and he cupped my cheek, kissing me back more forcefully than we had ever kissed before.

After about ten minutes he pushed me to lie down on the sofa and held himself up above me, going back to kissing me.

I never thought about if I loved Niall, but I guess it's because I didn't really want to know whether I did or not because I thought he wouldn't love me back. Saying it to him felt just right, like putting the final piece into a jigsaw puzzle.

I like this boy more than I ever even thought I could possible like a boy for Gods sake. He makes me feel complete and he makes me feel, simply happy. More than happy to be honest.

I heard a door slam shut but I don't think Niall heard it. "Oh, it's raining-" The voice stopped once it reached the door. Niall was startled and jumped back, looking up to find his mother standing in the doorway. She was soaking wet.

"Jeez mammy, no reason to scare us like that." Niall said.

"Sorry, was I interupting?" She giggled.

"A little bit, yeah." Niall replied. "Why are you back so early?" He asked as we both sat up.

"It was lashing rain, I got soaked." She said. "I better go get changed."

"Okay, take your time." Niall said and I giggled. "You know I mean it when I say I love you." Niall softly said, stroking my cheek.

"I mean it too." I replied.

"I have been trying to say it for a few weeks but I just kept chickening out." He smiled. "Couldn't do it."

"But you did and I am still feeling all tingly inside." I smiled, kissing his nose.

"I still have butterflies." He chuckled. "Why do you do this to me?"

"You do the same thing to me you bastard." I said, making him smile.

"Gosh, aren't we just adorable?" He asked and I nodded.

"Say it again." I smiled, climbing on his lap.

"What, that I love you?" He asked and I nodded, smiling. I want to hear him saying it again. "Jenny Marie Johnson, I love you." Niall smiled, sending the butterflies in my stomach crazy. I don't think it's gonna matter how many times he says it, I think it's gonna send me crazy every time he does.

"How did you know my middle name?" I asked.

"I know everything." He grinned. "Your turn, I wanna hear you say it too."

"Niall James Horan, I love you." I beamed.

"How'd you know my middle name?" He asked.

"I know everything." I copied what he said.

"You know you're the first girl I told that I loved her." He said to me.

"Seriously?"

"Yep." He nodded.

"You're making me feel special." I smiled.

"You are special." He kissed my cheek.

"You're gonna make me big headed." I laughed.

"You do that all on your own." He teased.

"Shut up." I hit his chest and he just laughed. "Are you gonna visit Greg?" I asked him after a few minutes.

"I have to." He replied. "I don't wanna fight with him though." He sighed.

"Everything will be okay." I kissed him. He smiled and pressed his cheek against mine.

"I hope so." He whispered.

When I woke up I looked around and Niall was missing. I looked at the time and it was actually twelve in the afternoon. That is the last time I stay up until three in the morning watching movies with Niall.

I grabbed Niall's hoodie and made my way downstairs. I found Maura sitting in the living room with the paper. "Morning, or should I say afternoon?" She smiled at me.

"Where's Niall?" I asked her, perching myself in the armchair across from her.

"He left a few hours ago, he was up very early this morning, he went to visit his dad then he was going to see Greg." Maura replied.

"Oh." Was all I said. "What time was he up?"

"He left here about nine but I am pretty sure he was up before then." She said and I was a little surprised. I didn't hear him going at all. He must have been quiet. "He should be back soon."

"Okay." I said, taking out my phone and checking it. Just then the front door opened and closed and Niall came through.

Niall's POV

"Greg-" I started but he cut me off.

"You don't have to say anything." He put his hand up, telling me to be quiet. "The fact you came to see me means more to me than I can even explain." He said and wrapped his arms around me. I nearly burst into tears then and there.

"No Greg, you're right, I have been an asshole since I left, you can probably count on one hand how many times I have been home an-"

"That's not your fault." He sighed. "Look, maybe I let the jealousy take over but seeing you made me realise how much I missed you."

"I missed you too." I softly said.

"Sorry for picking a fight with you, I shouldn't have."

"Hey, I gave as good as I got." I shrugged. "So can we forgive each other?" I asked him.

"As long as you promise to visit me." He smiled.

"Okay, when I can but you know how hectic my life is now." I sighed and he nodded.

"I know, sorry for being an asshole yesterday, thanks for Theo's present by the way." He said.

"Where is Theo?" I asked, looking around the room.

"Upstairs sleeping." He replied.

"Where's Denise?"

"Away to get milk before I go to work." He said.

I am so glad we finally made up again, like I missed having him basically as my brother. I don't understand why we were fighting anyways, it was just futile.

We chatted for a bit more until Denise came back and Greg had to go for work.

"Ah, I'm glad you two made up, I don't like seeing you brothers fighting." She said.

"I know." I agreed. "Right, I better get going." I said and said our final goodbyes seeing as I probably won't see Greg before we go. I got in my car, well rental car and made my way back to me mammy's.

Hell yeah! I finally told Jenny I love her!

I am so relieved I finally said those three words to Jenny and holy fuck, she said them back. I swear, I nearly had heart failure there and then when she said it. I mean, I was just so happy, I wasn't expecting her to actually say it back but God, am I glad she did.

I made my way back inside the house and found Jenny sitting in the armchair. She looked wrecked. We did stay up late watching movies in all fairness, whoops.

"Niall." She smiled as I came in.

"Hey." I said but left the room again. I hadn't eaten all morning so I got a banana and an orange from the fridge and I snuck back out the back door from the kitchen again. I just want to be on my own for a while.

You know, clear my mind and just get a bit of peace, so I am going to the place I love the most.

I smiled and walked down the pavement, in my element again.

Everything seems to be going my way these days for once.

Jenny's POV

"Maura where's Niall? I can't find him anywhere." I asked and she shrugged her shoulder.

"I thought he was upstairs." She said, stirring the soup she was making.

"He's not but his car is outside." I said. It had been like two hours since he came home and I have no idea where he is, one minute he was there and the next he was gone again.

"He would always do this as a kid too, I still have no clue where he goes." She sighed and it was then a light bulb lit up in my head. I know where he is! He has to be there!

I put on my shoes and grabbed Niall's hoodie again and left, forgetting to tell Maura but I really wasn't bothered. I hastily made my way down the pavement and walked to the park. Niall wasn't in the tree so there was one more place to check. I ran down the path and through the bushes and surely enough, Niall was sitting cross-legged in front of the river throwing stones into it.

"Niall." I said, sitting down next to him.

"How'd you know I was here?" He asked with a small smile. "Nobody ever knew where to find me when I was a kid."

"I know you well." I smiled, placing my head on his shoulder.

"I guess you do." He chuckled, taking my hand in his.

"What are you doing down here? I didn't know where you were for ages."

"I just wanted to get a bit of peace, you know, away from everyone else. I like that sometimes, just to be able to think on my own with nobody else around me, just silence." He replied, looking over at the trees, straight ahead of us.

"I can understand you." I replied. This place is so serene, not wonder he likes it so much. It's a therapeutic area for him and it's easily understandable why.

"This is why I like you, you get me." He smiled.

"You get me too though." I looked up ar him.

"Maybe we would make a good couple." He nudged me.

"You asking me out Niall?" I asked him.

"Hmm, we'd have to have a proper official date first and see how it goes." He smirked at me and I giggled.

"So what? You're asking me out on a date?" I questioned.

"Not asking anything." He grinned down at his feet.

"What are you up to mister?" I asked him.

"Nothing, nothing." He smiled and I eyed him.

"Will we go back now then?" I asked him. He shook his head and lay back on the grass. "Did you visit your dad and Greg?" I lay down next to him as he wrapped an arm around me.

"Yep, da first, then Greg and he made up with me so everything is okay again." He beamed and I turned my head to look at him.

"Good, I am happy for you." I softly said, tracing circles on his chest. He kissed my head and pulled me up onto his lap so I was straddling him.

"I have never kissed anyone down here, so wanna make it a first and change that?" Niall smiled and I pressed my lips against his but quickly pulled back.

"That's all you're getting." I teased and he groaned.

"Come on, that was like two seconds long, at least use some tongue." He whined.

"No, I don't w-" I was cut off when he forced my lips onto his by putting his hand on the back of my head and forcing it down. I clamped my mouth shut so he couldn't use tongue and he whined beneath my lips.

I love being in control and seeing him vulnerable.

"Please." He begged, pulling back.

"Fine." I sighed and finally let him. After a while we decided to go back to the house and Maura had soup ready for us. It was delicious oh my God.

We spent that evening in front of the fire, watching TV.

"Here." Niall smiled, handing me a mug. I looked inside and seen whipped cream and marshmallows. Hot chocolate!

"Ah Niall." I smiled and took a sip. "Whoa, this is lovely." I commented and he started laughing. He reached up and swiped his thumb over my nose then put it in his mouth.

"You had cream on your nose." He giggled and I blushed.

"Oh." I laughed.

"You're adorable." He cooed, taking a drink and turning the telly to the movies channel. There was some thriller on so we watched that. I don't like thrillers because I don't fucking like suspence and surprises. I hid in Niall's side most of the time.

"Come on." He laughed, patting my back.

"No, I am not watching, I don't like this." I whimpered and he laughed.

"You're like me Jenny." Maura said, standing up. "I'm off to bed before I wet myself."

"Night mammy." Niall smiled up at her.

"Night Niall, night Jenny."

"Goodnight." I replied.

I sat for the rest of the movie with my face under Niall's arm. I couldn't watch the movie because I was too scared and too tired. After it was over we made our way to bed.

"Here babe." Niall called as I went to get my pyjama's from my bag. My stomach done a somersault at the name. He threw his shirt over at me and I smiled.

"Thanks." I grinned, slipping it on. I love wearing his shirt. I live for the way it smells like him. I put on my pyjama's and got into bed beside him after moving his teddy, Bluebell, as he calls it.

"Goodnight." I said to him.

"Goodnight." He replied. "I love you." He kissed the top of my head.

"I love you too." I responded, smiling softly to myself.
