Jiho studied the men aiming at him calmly before sighing, "I would appreciate it if you guys put those guns away. This is a public premise," he told them before looking at Mingyu, who was peeking out from under the counter.
One of the men cautiously walked past Jiho before looking at Minseok, sitting on the floor, rubbing his elbow. "Are you okay, sir?" the man asked.
Minseok nodded and sighed softly, "lower your weapon, guys," he said, huffing as he got up from the floor. "I was the one that provoked him," he added, tapping the man's shoulder before walking toward Jiho.
"If you ever change your mind, let us know," he said to the slightly taller guy.
Jiho looked at him, "I will keep that in mind – but I must let you know that it is unlikely to happen," he replied, flashing a small, sarcastic smile.
Chaeyoung looked at Jiho from the staff room, slightly disappointed – she would've been happy if someone as skilled as him was on her security team. The skills she had witnessed the previous night proved that Jiho would be an important asset to the team and would easily be promoted to team leader.
In the end, she sighed before walking out of the room, "alright guys, do not overcrowd the shop – there will be other customers soon," Chaeyoung said to her bodyguards before looking at Jiho, "are you sure you don't want to accept the offer?"
Jiho looked at her, "I'm sorry, but my decision is final," he deadpanned before bowing.
"Alright then," Chaeyoung said, disappointed.
The bodyguards started leaving the flower shop shortly after that. While Jiho watched them leave, he turned to Chaeyoung after a few minutes, "feel free to talk to me if you are interested in buying flowers," he said before walking toward the counter.
Mingyu finally appeared from under the counter and looked around, "are we good now?" he whispered to Jiho.
The latter looked at him and nodded, "Yes. You can get back to work now," said Jiho before walking toward a small book near the cash register as he reviewed the list of customer bookings for the day.
Chaeyoung watched Jiho for a few seconds, admiring how gentle he looked while doing his work before shifting her attention toward the flowers in the shop after Jiho noticed her staring. She walked around the place for a while, looking at the flowers.
"Can I help you?"
Chaeyoung gasped softly before turning to look at Mingyu, who was asking.
"Oh, it's fine. I was just looking around," Chaeyoung shook her head before chuckling.
Mingyu nodded and smiled, "Alright. If you need any help, feel free to ask my friend or me over there," he said, politely pointing at Jiho, who was on the phone while resting an arm on the counter.
"I... don't think he would appreciate me talking to him," Chaeyoung shook her head before looking at Mingyu.
The latter raised his eyebrows, "oh, why do you say that?"
Chaeyoung shrugged, "because I'm an extrovert," she said before looking at Jiho again, now eyeing them with his usual cold stare. "And Jiho seemed to be an introvert."
Mingyu nodded and followed her gaze, "yeah, I get what you mean," he said softly before crossing his arms, "when he first started, we ignored each other for three weeks," he added. He took a deep breath before exhaling, "You said you are an extrovert... do you mind if I ask what your MBTI is?"
"I don't mind – my MBTI is ESFJ," Chaeyoung said, smiling reassuringly. "What about you?"
Mingyu shrugged, "it has been a while since I took the test, but I think I'm an ENTJ."
Hearing him, Chaeyoung nodded. "Oh, so we are both extroverts," she exclaimed happily before looking at Mingyu, happy that she had found someone who was an extrovert like her.
Mingyu looked at her and chuckled, "Ah, right...." He cleared his throat. "Judging by the men outside," he looked at Chaeyoung's bodyguards standing outside the shop, "you must be someone important – what's your name?"
"My name is Park Chaeyoung."
Mingyu nodded, "Ah... Park Chae – hold on a minute! You are the heiress to that company... PCY Group, aren't you?" he asked, flustered. He bowed to her, "I'm sorry for speaking in panmal (informal speech) with you."
Chaeyoung chuckled and shook her head, "I don't want to toot my own horn, but yes, that is me, and it's okay, I don't mind!" she said, flustered when he started to bow to her. "It feels good to be treated like normal for once."
Meanwhile, Jiho watched them quietly – smiling a little at the sight of Mingyu getting flustered. It was amusing for him, but after a few seconds, he exhaled sharply before preparing the bouquet of lilies that a customer had requested – it had only been six months since he started working in the flower shop. And yet, he quickly mastered how to make flower bouquets.
After ten minutes, he was already done. He did some finishing touches on it before looking at Mingyu and Chaeyoung, who were still talking before he cleared his throat and walked out of the counter with the bouquet.
"Mingyu, can you take care of things around here while I deliver this?" asked Y/n, showing the bouquet.
Mingyu looked at him and nodded, "oh, those lilies... Miss Hwang's order?" he asked, looking at Y/n.
Y/n flashed a quick smile, much to Mingyu's surprise, "yes," he said to the latter.
"Oh, go ahead then. I will be fine by myself," Mingyu said, still caught off-guard by Y/n's smile.
"In that case," Y/n cleared his throat, returning to his usual serious mode before excusing himself.
After he was out of the shop, Mingyu exhaled heavily, "that was the first time he smiled in the six months he worked here," he exclaimed, looking at Chaeyoung in surprise. "I wonder why he didn't smile more often," he sighed.
Chaeyoung sighed softly – the smile surprised her, and even though she had only met Jiho twice, it still surprised her that he was capable of such gestures. "I guess it took him something like flowers to make him smile."
Mingyu sighed, crossing his arms, "if only that were true," he said, "it made me wonder what his MBTI is," he added.
"Judging from his cold demeanor, I would say he is an I-something," Chaeyoung assumed.
Mingyu nodded in agreement before looking at her bodyguards still standing like statues outside the shop, "anyway," he cleared his throat, "don't they get tired or something?" he asked, gesturing toward them.
Chaeyoung hummed and followed his gesture, "oh, I stopped thinking about that because they were stubborn," she said, looking at Mingyu.
"Why do you say so?"
"Well," Chaeyoung shrugged before walking toward a stool, "may I?" she asked, sitting after getting permission from Mingyu. "I actually thought it was too much to deploy so many of them just to protect me alone," she sighed and crossed her legs, "I told them to treat me like they would an old friend, but they said they are trained to be 'professional,'" she quoted before shaking her head.
Mingyu stared at her for a while before nodding, "I see..." he said before asking the question lingering in his head, "I don't mind probing into your business, but what kind of offer did you give Jiho?"
"It's okay – it's nothing confidential. We were just offering him to join the company's security team."
