The Next Day - Tsubaki's POV

"Time to train!" The twin cheer excitedly as we walk through the village.

I just watch as they chatter and cheer.

"HEY!"

The three of us stop and we see Hina's team running this way.

They stop in front of us and Hina looks flustered.

"Good Morning Hina, Shino, Kiba." I say to them with a nod.

"Good morning!" The twins cheer.

"G-Good morning Tsubaki." Hina says quietly.

I smile at her and the boys talk while I wait.

"Father didn't seem pleased this morning to find you never came home." Hina whispers to me.

I look at the ground as I think about the consequences. "Yeah, that figures." I say and I look up. "So be it. I'll deal with it when I get to it. For now I have training." I say as I fold my hands in front of me.

The twins notice and I can tell.

Hina nods. "I could never be as brave as you." Hina says to me quietly.

I just pull her into a hug. "No need to say that. Your a ninja now. That's plenty brave." I say and Hina just hugs me back.

"Tsubaki! Why do you never hug us!" The twins whine.

I scowl at them slight as Hina moves back. "Cause you smell." I say and Kiba laughs while Hina giggles. "And for some god forsaken reason, your always rather sticky, and I prefer to keep my clothes clean." I say to them and the twins sulk.

"Tsubaki is back." Hiroto cries.

I get confused by that. "I'm going on ahead. I'll see you at home later Hina." I say to Hina who nods.

I head to the training grounds and I sit down with my book and I read.

"You'll have to head to hospital soon to continue on ahead in your medical studies." Sensei observes in front of me.

My heart stops a moment as I freeze. "You snuck up on me." I say to him and Sensei laughs.

"A ninja should always be aware of their surroundings." Sensei says to me. "So where are the twins?" Sensei asks me.

I snort quietly. "We were together and the Hina's team showed up on our way here. We stopped to talk to them and I went on ahead after speaking with Hina." I say to Sensei who nods.

"Ok, well, since your here, let's get started." Sensei says to me.

I nod and I put my book down.

He trains me until the twins get here and we train for a while together.

2 weeks later

Me and Neji talk as we take a break from training at the compound.

"GUYS! GUYS! GUYS!" Tenten and the twins yell as they run over to us, excited.

"Yeah?" I ask confused.

"Lady Tsunade has arrived to the village!" Tenten says excited.

I watch amused as the twins and Tenten ramble.

"You could learn more on healing from her Tsubaki!" Hiroko says to me excited.

I suddenly remember I had to be at the Hospital today for some hands on learning. "I was supposed to go do some hands on learning at the Hospital today." I say as I watch the twins chatter excitedly.

"Your team is loud." Neji says to me.

I nod. "Alright, I'll see you guys later. Neji we'll pick this up another time." I say to Neji who nods.

I head to the hospital and the doctor training me continues my learning.

After a few hours, he directs me to a room with a lady in it. She's got blonde hair, blue eyes, she's got Jiraiya oggling her.

"Lady Tsunade, this is Tsubaki Hyuga, she's a Genin learning Healing-Nin-Jutsu, she's the only genin learning how to heal." The doctor says to her.

Lady Tsunade's eyes travel to me and she looks me up and down.

"TSUBAKI!" The twins yell as they crash through the hallways.

I ignore the yelling until the door slams open.

"Tsubaki!" The twins whine.

"Your team is mean!" Naruto yells at me.

I slowly sigh as the three surround me, yelling.

I grab Naruto's Ear and Hiroto's ear since they're making the loudest noise.

"OW!" They whine loudly.

"Will you please stop yelling? Your giving everyone a headache and I really do not care for your arguing. So tell me what's going on before I knock your heads together and force you to get along." I say to them.

Hiroko tells me what's going on and it's so stupid that it annoys me.

"Go bother Sakura with this." I say as I push them out of the room.

"But your nicer than she is!" Hiroko whines.

I stare at them, starting to get really annoyed. "Alright, fine, Naruto apologize for hitting Hiroko." I start and Naruto complains. "Hiroto, apologize for tripping Naruto." I continue and the two grumble. "Now." I order them and they apologize nervously. "Now what your gonna do, is Hiroto, your treating Naruto to a bowl of Ramen, and Naruto, your gonna treat Hiroko to some Dango." I say to them sternly.

"Yes ma'am." They cry as they leave.

I turn my attention back to the room and Lady Tsunade smirks at me. "I'm gonna like you." She says to me with a smirk.

Sensei finally gets here and I hide behind him, to which that amuses him. "Lady Tsunade, are you tormenting my student?" Sensei asks her.

"No, but I will be taking over her medical training." Lady Tsunade says to Sensei.

"That's great. Tsubaki could learn a lot from you Lady Tsunade." Sensei says with a grin.

Lady Tsunade smirks at me and I narrow my eyes at her. "Indeed." Lady Tsunade says to Sensei.

The door gets knocked on and then it opens to reveal Daichi.

"Lady Tsubaki," Daichi starts nervously.

I stare at the wall. "Tell Father. No." I say to Daichi who looks really nervous about that. "I'm busy." I say and Daichi tries to reason with me before giving up and he leaves.

"I'm really going to like you." Lady Tsunade says to me with a smirk.

I stare at her for a long moment, inching behind my Sensei even more.

After a bit, I walk through the village, thinking quietly to myself.

"I should head home before I get into any more trouble." I say to myself and I head home.

I hear Neji and Father talking, so I go take a shower. I put on a white t-shirt with black leggings afterwards. I sit at my vanity and I brush my hair, reading in my medical book.

My door gets knocked on, so I get up and I go open my door to see Neji and Father. "Hello?" I ask.

"How long have you've been home?" Father asks me.

"30 minutes." I say to Father. "Why? Because if this is about me telling Daichi I wasn't coming home earlier, it's because me and Sensei were talking with Lady Tsunade about my studies in Medical Nin-Jutsu, so I was kinda busy." I say to Father.

Father looks mildly surprised.

Neji smirks. "So is she taking you on as a medical student?" Neji asks me.

"Yes, she is. I'm hoping her methods aren't as crude as how she acts." I say and Neji nods.

"Would you make us tea Tsubaki? Your sister hasn't returned yet and I don't want Hanabi to hurt herself." Father asks me.

I nod. "Any specific kind?" I ask Father.

"Green." Father says to me and he takes Neji elsewhere.

I tie my hair up as I walk to the kitchen and I get to work.

I boil the water in the kettle with the leaves in the kettle. I get out two cups and I get the coasters for the kettle and the cups.

I take the tea and what not to Father and Neji who are sitting on the porch.

I set the stuff down gently and quietly, pouring the tea when it's set up.

"Thank you Tsubaki." Neji says to me quietly and I nod.

"Tsubaki, you only brought out two cups." Father says to me.

"Are you expecting more company Father?" I ask him.

"I want you to join us." Father says to me.

I stare at him for a moment, confused. "Say that again? I think I misheard you. You want me to join you?" I ask Father.

"That is what I said." Father says to me. "Go get yourself a cup and sit with us." Father orders me.

I nod and I go inside. I go get myself a cup and a coaster.

I go and sit with Neji and Father, uncomfortable by this situation.

"Tsubaki, you could learn a few of the Clan's sacred jutsu from Neji." Father says to me all of a sudden.

I stare at Father and I don't know how to respond. "With all due respect, who are you? Your never this suggestive or nice to me. It's usually comments on, don't be a burden and behave, and respect." I say to Father, setting my cup down.

Father sets his cup down and he looks unsettled.

"Should I leave?" Neji asks worried.

"No, don't leave." Father says to Neji and then looks at me. "You should learn the clans nin-jutsu if your to be a heiress of the clan." Father says to me.

I stare at him, tensing. "I forfeited my position years ago. I'm not an Heiress." I say to Father.

"You never actually beat Hanabi in a fight, regardless if your forfeited. You've still beaten your sister by other means." Father says to me.

I stare at him and I'm not liking how that sounds and Neji stares at me surprised. "I don't like how this is sounding." I say to Father.

"You should like how it's sounding. Your an Heiress of the Hyuga and that comes with responsibility and you need to train." Father says to me.

I stare at Father. "I don't want that responsibility." I say to Father.

"Well it's yours and you have to take it." Father orders me and I cringe.

"Well if you excuse me, I have trouble to get into." I say to Father and I leave.

I walk through town and I see the twins. I walk over and I pout when the twins don't notice me.

Sensei appears too and notices me pouting.

"What's wrong Tsubaki?" Sensei asks me.

"I just got news bombed and I don't like it." I say to Sensei.

"What happened?" Sensei asks me.

"I was asked to join Father and Neji for some Tea out of nowhere, for starters, then some talking happens, and then Father tells me I should learn the clan jutsu. I ask why he's suddenly been so nice and he tells me I'm an Heiress to the Hyuga still. I tell him I had forfeited years ago, he told me that even though that happened, it didn't matter that I forfeited, I still beat Hanabi and therefore the clan suddenly became my responsibility as of 20 minutes ago." I say to Sensei who looks surprised and I just sulk. "I don't want this responsibility." I say and Hiroko pets my head.

"Adorable." Hiroko whispers as he pets my head.

"What do you plan to do about this Tsubaki?" Sensei asks me.

"I don't know. But I told Father I was gonna go get into trouble." I say and Sensei grins.

"We'll figure something out about this later." Sensei says as he ruffles my hair.

"There you are Tsubaki!" I hear Tsunade call and I freeze.

Tsunade walks over to me and she's smirking. "Your going to help me find a way to help Rock Lee. Right this instant." Tsunade says to me with a smirk.

I internally cry until I see Hina with Kiba and Shino.

I make a dash for my sister and I hug her tightly, having missed her.

"Tsu-Tsubaki?" Hina asks surprised.

"Come back here you runt!" Lady Tsunade orders me and I just continue to hug my sister.

Hina pets my head as I hide my face in her shoulder. "Ar-are you ok?" Hina asks me.

"I just got news bombed and now I have a huge responsibility that I don't want." I mumble.

"We we should tal-talk about this l-later." Hina says to me.

I hum softly but I just sulk so Hina just stays put.

"Adorable." Hiroko whispers.

"Seriously dude?" Hiroto asks Hiroko.

Hina then leaves me and I sulk even more, she giggles as she walks away.

"Come on." Tsunade says as she grabs the back of my shirt and starts dragging me.

We go over books for days until we finally come up with something.

"Good job." Tsunade says to me with a smirk. "Now go home. Report to me in the morning." Tsunade orders me.

"Yes Ma'am." I say and I leave.

I head home and it's late.

I check on the girls quietly to make sure they're ok. Hanabi is awake when I stop by her room.

I walk in when she looks up. "Hey, you should be asleep, it's late." I say to her softly as I kneel in front of her.

Hanabi hugs me and she's crying quietly. "Thank you." She whispers.

"Hey, what'd I do?" I asked her softly.

"Your taking on the responsibility of the clan. On one hand, I feel awful because I know you don't want to lead the clan, but at the same time, I want freedom." Hanabi whimpers.

I stare at the wall for a moment, hating myself because now I have to go through with this. "Hey, everyone wants freedom at one point in their life. I've had mine, now you can taste it." I say to her gently and she smiles up at me sadly. "It's quite alright. So just leave everything to me and get some rest." I say to her softly as I tuck her in.

"Ok. Thank you Tsubaki." Hanabi whispers and I stay with her till she falls asleep.

I kiss her forehead gently and I turn the light off as I leave the room, shutting the door quietly.

I head to Hina's room and she's peacefully asleep. I kiss her forehead gently and I pull her blanket over her so she stays warm. I leave the room, shutting her light off and closing the door quietly.

I rub my eyes, exhausted and I head to my room. I brush my teeth and I change into a pair of sweatpants and a clean t-shirt.

I lay down and I curl up under a blanket, holding a pillow, falling asleep almost instantly.
